This time, I got in the dual (at first) car line and waited my turn. Time went quickly and I was back on the road soon enough. The Pink Lemonade was in the cup holder, and the fries were were easy to pick off while driving. The Double Double took a little more work, but the wrapping helped during the delicious road ahead.

When I found out the main location of the truck in South Reno, I got super excited and went to try it out again. This time I got multiple deserts for my friends and I to try out. The guy was nice and told me it would take 15 minutes. However, it took him 30 minutes to get me the order. He helped other customers before getting my order to me well after the 15 minute mark. I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, but when I arrived, I was the only customer there and it was not busy. To top it all off, 2 out of 3 of the deserts I had ordered were melted and clearly been sitting out for a while. Very disappointing compared to the good experience I had at Food Truck Friday, especially considering this was a near $40 order.

I went in big like a starving hostage and ordered a half rack of ribs, brisket, pulled pork, a Habanero Jalapeño Cheddar sausage link and a side of mac and F'n Cheese! My wife, she had the pulled chicken and a salad. First taste was the brisket, gotta go in for the brisket. The bark was so flavorful and there was the distinct smoke flavor. Unlike another place I've been to, this place was smoke forward and that's the vibe I like. Not bitter, but a good smoke. The pulled pork was out of this world and the ribs were just about perfect. Not fall off the bone but a great clean bite through. I know, I know everyone wants fall off the bone but hear me out, THAT'S JUST OVERCOOKED! Now let's talk about this sausage. If you aren't prepared for some serious heat (I should have known by the name) don't be a hero here. That link is damn hot. Like satan's b-hole hot. Flavor is amazing but it's hot as pawnshop wedding ring. I gotta say this place has got my attention. Not that it need my attention particularly, but you have it anyway. When I go to a BBQ restaurant, I want to taste smoke. That's what I'm there for. Butcher's Kitchen did not dissapoint. THEN!! the best part of the night was when they brought me and my wife back and showed us the smokers!! Like wizard of oz, ruby slippers, man behind the curtain sh*t, they showed me the damn smokers! Gave us the full tour of their amazing pits. Top notch man, top notch! You have a forever fan here. I will not rest until I've tasted everything on that menu twice over. Thank you so very much for your food and your hospitality. Continue to do what you do. Oh and the girl loved the chicken and salad, truly. Smoke and Destroy!!

I went with the brisket and spare ribs, and both were tender and flavorful. The house BBQ sauce paired really well with the meat and added a nice touch. For the sides, I tried the macaroni salad and potato salad. The macaroni salad was good, while the potato salad wasn't necessarily my personal favorite, but that's just my preference, and it's still probably worth giving it a try. Overall, I enjoyed the experience. The food was good, the atmosphere was welcoming, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely a solid little spot to check out if you're in Reno and looking for some BBQ.

Luckily, the ones here at Slim Chickens are fresh and well seasoned, and it come with a range of delicious Housemade sauces that made for a great experience each time. Unintentionally the spot has become our go to value meal when the kids are pleading for us to take them out for lunch for dinner. The Sunday special where a kid meal is $1.99 with the purchase of an adult meal has become a once a month treat. Having the app also has exposed to other unique offerings and their newest menu addition too. They've been doing a lot of solid digital marketing in the general vicinity as well and I often find great value offerings through that channel as well. Most recently that was discovering the 20 piece boneless Hall, which for $10 was enough to feed both of my kids or me a little snack and one of the kids as well. Four stars is because sometimes the offerings shown online are a little tricky to find either in the app or at the kiosk in store. I've had to start orders on the kiosk, then abandoned them and then head to the cash register where the friendly staff is more than willing to jump in and help me locate exactly what I'm talking about. They've never seemed to not know about a promotion which I do really appreciate. The chicken tenders are usually well cooked and crispy and juicy, but I do find them a bit on the salty side personally, some of the sauce is also fall a little bit flat. I tried the cayenne ranch last visit and thought it barely had a kick or any flavor beyond being just a loser style ranch dressing. The fries are really weird. I think they need some work unless I say something specifically I feel like I always get the end of the bachelorette prize they're warm, not hot but they're limp and often quite greasy if I ask them well done or Crispy I feel like they get overcooked so I just don't know at this point how to best enjoy the french fries here. All that service is always 100% and the staff is always able to put a smile on your face. My kids ripped through the sauces and the staff never hesitate to hook them up with extra one or two and they always treat them with the same respect, they would treat us at the counter, which I greatly appreciate. Again, I'm very solid addition to self Reno from Guy Wootan. I'm happy my kids dragged me in the first time and will continue to visit in the future.

Slim Chickens might be called "slim" because their portions leave a lot to be desired. Overall portions are too small and items are very overpriced! I ordered the wrap and it cost over $10 for the wrap alone. It came out and the wrap was max 6 inches long and very small, hardly any chicken and used too much ranch (probably to cover the dryness). It was gone in a few bites. For reference, the sauce cups are the small sauce cups that hold maybe a tablespoon of sauce. The wrap was barely the size of a snack wrap. Do with that what you will. Kind of a rip off.

We ordered the #1 Combo for my toddlers and it made it country style. My husband ordered the #3 Combo spicy level medium, and I ordered the Crazy Fries as mild. It was ridiculously bomb that my husband and I finished everything, except our kiddos (they missed out LOL). The battering is perfect, the spice level that we ask for is being met, their sauces and how they season their fries is sending me. Their chicken meat is very juicy, so like I said how they batter their chicken really compliments how well the chicken tastes and they cook it just right. Service here was friendly and quick. And I can only speak for this location (next to In-N-Out), it was a bummer that they didn't have fountain drinks, but that's ok, still giving this place a good rating. This will definitely be my go-to cheat day food place.

They were just waiting on the toast. Few moments later the food went to the trash as the other person didnt see the ticket and assumed it was excess from the large varering order. Not sure how she confused that as catering orders are in different containers. When he saw that he told her was that my order. She apologized and he showed her the app order. As the app doesn't show if you upgrade the drinks they have us the normal size drinks. She did give some extra sauce. Hence the second star in this review. For overall the food quality is always consistent. We love the chicken and the canes sauce. I love the tea and always upgrade if we order pickup. We waited another 15 to 20 minutes. As of course this was dying the canes rush hour. The waiting and service confusion is the reason. Why they get a low score. The food and other members are most likely fine. I understand there was another order, but next time confirm with your team before scrapping food and the ticket. Im still confused on the entire incident. Can't do anything about it. Also if you have a complaint. The email receipt says to complain to the store that serviced you. I dont see how they can help if they lost our ticket order. How can you trust it. So if you want canes. Don't order ahead. Just go in person. Some reason you dont have order issues. If you do, typically someone corrects it. I thi k she was trying her best. Just frustrating. Still go and support. They are an awesome team. There are just some off days. We will still go and enjoy as long as this doesn't happen again. They seem to forget something all the time. Anotherni cident prior to this is one kiddo got a toy and the other didnt. So check your to go meals. I didnt for this instant it was my fault. We were running late to the kids school lunch day eith family. I had a meeting go a little over and needed to make sure we made it within the window. Luckily. Our little.one didn't get jealous the other one got a toy. Also its super busy here and gets loud on Fridays and the weekends. The cars also wrap around the parking lot. So dont park closest to the building. You may never get out.

Food: And this time, it seems that the the Cane's sauce containers have gotten smaller, which really hurts! It sucks when companies charge the same price but decrease the portion sizes. It gets on my nerves a bit more than I'd like to admit. The chicken itself had little flavor, but when dipped in the Cane's sauce, offered the salty and delicious flavor that I remember. Good crisp, and cooked well. Cooked all the way through without being dry. The side fixings were delightful. Texas toast, coleslaw, and fries made up most of our plate. The Texas toast is crispy, buttery, and warm, everything I could ask for really. The fries served here are your traditional crinkle cut. It's not my favorite style of fry, although I appreciate how thinly they're cut, so they get a more even cook. Of course I paired it all with a side of sweet tea. It's as tasty as I remember it being, and the ice is the small and rounded shapes that make it really fun to drink from. Service: We were helped pretty quickly, and able to find a quiet corner of the indoor seating despite it being a busy lunch time around 1 pm on a Friday. At times, it was a bit too busy for my liking around the service counter waiting for our food. Otherwise, we enjoyed our table and hung around for a little bit after finishing our meal. If I'm going out for some chicken tenders nowadays, I think I would rather support local and go to somewhere like Crazy D's. I like the crispiness of their chicken better as well as the flavor. At Cane's, I appreciate the quantity and quality you get for the price, but I'd rather pay more or the same for a better quality chicken tendy!

I mean, who sends out a takeout salad with no dressing? That's a pretty basic part of the order, and once you're already home, you shouldn't have to drive all the way back because someone didn't check the order before it left the restaurant. What's even more disappointing is that before writing this review, I actually called the restaurant to give them an opportunity to make it right. I asked to speak with a manager and was told the manager would call me back. That call never came. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. But not following up with a customer after saying you would is what really bothered me. A simple phone call and acknowledgment would have gone a long way. Unfortunately, between the incomplete order and the lack of follow-up, this was a very disappointing experience.
