I paid an extra 11.79 for a medium walnut shrimp and she only filled it half way. They get paid good hourly wages and they are getting cheaper and cheaper! My boyfriend really wanted it or else I would have left and got something else. Its decent food but half the time their food choices are nearly empty! I decided, as always, to indulge myself in my favorite meat from this place one day a week... I want to note that their prices are no joke, the average size is almost $12, and the lady who served me was not very polite, and the portion was not yet full... and a lot of broccoli so that it was not noticeable that there were two pieces of meat... My wife and I ordered a plate (rice, Beijing beef, super greens, and honey sesame) and a bowl (chow mein and orange chicken). The chicken in the bowl was soggy and not appetizing in the slightest. If you're traveling through Oroville and want Chinese. Go somewhere else. I will preface this by saying that their posted close time is 9:30 pm and I walked in around 8:15. There was one person in front of me, no one else ahead or behind. The lady seemed nice and had a simple enough order. But for some reason, it took multiple people to help her with her simple order. And it took a bit longer than it probably should have. There were (as far as I could see) four people behind the counter and not a single person acknowledged my presence while I waited. Not a 'hi,' 'hello,' 'we'll be right with you...' nothing. In fact, it felt like they actively avoided saying anything to me. I know it's a Panda Express. I know the menu. I knew what I wanted. The food is actually good. The service needs some help and common sense. Customer ahead of me ordered a very large amount to plates. I was right behind them and another employee took my order, a bowl, and walked away. 5 min, 10 min, 15 min goes by and I ask can someone else right me up and the employee doing the ver large order says "after we are finished with this large order. Stay away from this establishment. We discovered when we got home that they had given us the wrong order. We called them but they won't answer the phone or allow you to leave a message. We tried calling again that evening and the following day but they wouldn't answer the phone. When I went to the restaurant they told me that 24 hrs had lapsed and that made me ineligible for any refund or credit. Pretty maddening. Such arrogance and disrespect for their customer base. I have done a lot of managing in my professional career and this management team is by far the worst I have dealt with. They have not had items until the next day, which tells me they are not putting their orders in adequately, today they were not open until 11 am. I waited for about 15 min until 11 when the hours of operation states it opens at 10 am. I constantly am waiting for items to be done and only once did they recognize it and gave me an appetizer on at no cost for it. I try to come here because its a somewhat healthy fast food option near here my new jobsite is in Oroville. But this is by far not run properly from the management side at all. I want to thank Tee T? (I think that was his name on the receipt ) For his friendly face when we walked in. Was the ONLY associate to greet us. There was another man who looked like the shift lead of the night, (key holder) he didn't even look at us when we walked up to order. He was fulfilling an order through the headset but a simple smile while he was working would of been fine, an acknowledgement is all we needed. Then he proceeds to glare at us at the table while we eat. I think there needs to be an adjustment in management because all he cared about was chit chatting on the headset with the female employee. Wow... So I've ordering food from this Panda Express since it opened and I've had the misfortune of seeing and tasting the quality diminish over time. Today I ordered the family meal 12 piece wonton and one egg roll... the family meal came with no utensils, I ordered teriyaki chicken which is usually my go to. It was bland and had the texture of oiled up chicken, the honey shrimp was soggy, the white rice was dry and I didn't have the courage to try the chow mein. The wonton that my kids love to eat would not eat them because they too had no flavor. They only things that tasted decent was the egg roll (burnt on one side) and the orange chicken. Tonight, I decided - after working all day on my disabled mom's a decade overgrown yard - that I wanted Panda for dinner, once I realized that four hours had passed since my last meal, during which time I was sawing at old hardwood trees and ripping ivy off fences. So I go down, and see that the drive thru was full at 7:14 pm. Okay, sure! I understand - the dining room is closed, the drive thru is full; I'm fellow food service to the bone, and I don't mind waiting. So I wait roughly fifteen minutes from start to window, and pull away at 7:34, just happy that it wasn't longer. I drive home. I unpack my food. I get everyone settled. Sit down to take my food out. Realize that MY plate - my white steamed rice, honey walnut shrimp, and mushroom chicken plate; that extra dollar and a quarter, dontcha know - is NOT THERE. Anyone looking at my reviews understands how much I hate having to get things that have been forgotten. But that hatred is magnified by quite a bit when its done in the middle of a pandemic, with a drive thru long enough to wrap around the building. For those of you asking why I didn't call the joint? Well, I did. Busy signal. Hearing the busy signal made images of the rocking drive thru fill my head. So, thrice blast it, I girded up to once more sally forth into the breach. Now, I did try calling from the drive thru again. I even tried signaling the manager because she left the building to attend another customer. Nada. So. I had to wait another half hour. Just for my plate. Understandably irritated. Talk to the manager through the speaker after laying out my annoyance in polite terms and an irritated voice. She agreed to refund me my plate (9.25) for putting my health at risk, and waiting in the drive thru again (after automatically condescending that 'well, next time you should call first') after I cleared up her misunderstanding that she thought I wanted the whole $72 order refunded. "No, just the $9.25 for the plate - just a refund for the thing I had to come back for." I said it in clear plain words, and she agreed. Well, you can guess what happened. I didn't get my refund, and she billed my only and first plate as a replacement one, even though I had explained to her that I had got my meal for my family, which was all great, but my plate was not there, right from the start. I'm a former trusted Panda employee. I don't think, from an employer point of view (and having seen my manager perform several such transactions), that it's too much to ask to refund a measly $9.25, considering I spent nearly an hour total in the drive thru, for something that not only should not have been forgotten, but is a full $1.25 more expensive than your run of the mill Panda meal. That's not factoring in the cost of gas, my time, the fact that I have terrible anxiety, the fact I had to wait because all lines of communication were full, the fact that I had to come out again in a PANDEMIC, and being the last to eat, more than a half hour after everyone else at home. Went to get food thru drive thru, got there around 9:25 pm and they don't close til 10:00pm...order 4 bowls with 1 entre each, they said they were out of orange chickens so we end up getting all 3 bowels with chicken teriyaki and the 4th bowel with the left over orange chicken they have...was told that healthcare worker gets a 10% discount but when mention it to the cashier at drive thru they said no they don't offer that...anyways the point is that we end up getting un-cooked rice and chow mein and to top it off they just threw all our food into the bag and handed to my coworker. This gets 4 out of 5 based on what I expect from a Panda Express, and I've eaten at quite a few, including some truly bad ones. I was wary based on the harsh reviews, but it looked legit and clean so we gave it a shot, and I'm glad we did. We came at 10:30 AM for dine-in, and the entire food line was stocked with fresh hot food. Orange chicken, Sweet Fire chicken, Broccoli beef, rice, and noodles were all up to par. The staff was fast and polite, no waiting at all. Tables, floor, and bathrooms were all spotless. We had no complaints, other than kids saying the pre-packaged chocolate chip cookies being hard and kinda tasteless, but I don't blame this store for that. I usually reserve a 5th star for a "wow" experience, but nothing in our meal was even close to any of the scathing 1 and 2 star reviews. read more
