Visited June 8 2026. This is the only In and Out Burger in Chico. Omg...it was crazy slammed! The line was backed up on the street waiting to get in. We decided to park and go inside. It was packed in there too! I didn't want anything since we had already had a burger but my boyfriend wanted a burger animal style. It was getting warm in the afternoon so I went back to my car with my puppy and put the air conditioner on. 20 minutes later he comes out with the burger and fries. Honestly...I wasn't happy about the long wait! It's a tight drive thru as well. I would recommend going on off times when they are not slammed! Personally not worth the hype. They need 2 lanes since they are super busy! The Yuba City location isn't as busy as this one! read more

I stopped in here at the IN N Out in Chico on my way back to Red Bluff from Reno. It was sort of a light early dinner, but I just wanted to keep it simple and predictable. When you're on the road a lot, you appreciate predictable. I had my usual Double Double Animal Style, extra grilled onions please. Skipped the fries this time ... cutting carbs ya know! Honestly who doesn't like In-N-Out? This restaurant holds a special place in my heart, and the burgers - a special place in my stomach. I always order a Double Meat without onion. To clarify, it's two patties with no cheese or onion. It still comes with tomato, lettuce and the delicious sauce. I like my burger that way. And I often get a meal because the fries are pretty good. I sprinkle, don't laugh, pepper on them and then dip them in ketchup. It works for me. And sometimes if I'm feeling like a pig, I just order two Double Meats. Throughout the year I come in, order and eat my food inside the restaurant. I often prefer this because sometimes the line for the drive-thru extends well beyond the Applebee's down the road. The inner environment of the restaurant is constantly clean and there is enough room to comfortably sit down and enjoy your meal; unless you come at a really busy time. My favorite place to eat in Chico. Perfect atmosphere, helpful staff, cleanliness, and price. The only reason I cannot give them a 5 star is the drive-thru line. They need to implement a dual lane or make the building bigger for a larger kitchen because the demand is way too high, and 30 mins in the drive thru is a bit long, and Friday and Saturday's nights are always busy. In N Out associates are the best! Always friendly and helpful when placing special orders. I usually enter the drive-thru. The line of cars can extended well over 100 yards - which makes it a challenge when trying to avoid blocking other restaurant's entrances. I look forward when they incorporate the (demolished) Kristy Kreme property to accommodate more autos. As for the food, I think it's by far the best quality of any fast food establishment. I make get a soda from their competitors, but that's all. If In N Out had another, more convenient, location they would get 100% of my business. read more

Went back recently to In-N-Out and they replaced the animal fries that I paid for and that they did not put in the bag last time, kudos for great customer service. Even with the long line always out within 15 to 20 minutes way quicker than any other fast food spot in town for the volume they face with orders. In the small chance that you'll read this; your boy (Window 1 Cashier) swapped my order with the car in front of me, causing the guy in front to pay for mine and I pay for his. Cashier didn't give me any other choice. Cashier said it would be two dollars more. My original total about $14, would supposedly now be $16 (with no bonus added to my order for his mistake). Feeling good, I paid it. Turns out your boy either lied or made a mistake again and I ended up paying $21. That's a difference of almost two extra hamburgers! Good ol' In-N-Out. It's always reliable, consistent, and obviously delicious - and that's what I love. I know what I'm going to get every time, whether it's here at the Chico location or somewhere else. If anyone says they dislike In-N-Out or they think "Whataburger" or "Five Guys" is better then you should end your friendship with them because they're wrong. Outrageously wrong. Like they-just-admitted-they-kick-puppies-for-fun. Morally wrong. In-N-Out is king. Full stop. This location is always kept up to the standards of the In-N-Out company as a whole: food is fresh, prepped and cooked very deliberately, the store is always clean even at peak hours, and the associates are always pleasant, helpful, and showing some serious hustle. During meal rushes, which are most of the day now, they have 1-2 associates in the drive taking orders (unless it's rainy or far too hot) and plenty of associates taking counter orders inside. In-N-Out is one place you never have to worry will be understaffed like a McDonald's or Taco Bell, and that's owed in large part to the fact that they've always paid above minimum wage and offered good benefits, even to part time employees, generally doing right by everyone who works for them. read more

We all know In-N-Out is good. And usually fairly quick, I mean, it IS fast food. However, this location took FOREVER getting my order ready. Granted, I was going through the drive through- it SHOULD have been relatively quick BEING that it WAS the "drive through". Upon pulling up to the menu, I was asked to "hold on just moment"........ tick tock..... tick tock...... tick tock..... tick tock.... 1/2 a song finished on the radio and I yelled out "HELLO??' I FINALLY got a response and it was, "I'm sorry, just a few more minutes". At this point, I could have gone to the store, bought pint of ice cream and bag of potatoes and made my own milk shake AND french fries. JEEZUS!!! WTF could be taking SO long?????? 1/2 a month later, the voice apologizes again and I'm able to put in my order. Evidently, they had the people who ride the short bus working the night shift because even the car in front of me had to wait forever once they were up at the food pick up window. I could see his arm hanging out of his window, waiting for his bag. Once I got my order home, my fries were soggy, my sammy was mush and my drink was pretty much warm. A bunch of lights were burned out on the outside of the restaurant as well. I guess this is the location that they send the ding dongs to work and simply don't care about the aesthetics of the building. Weird, being that they make millions of dollars, you'd think that they could AT LEAST keep the buildings exterior up to par. Kinda ghetto.
