I'm dropping 1 star on the rating because I do not like that on to-go orders they bag the hot items squished in with cold items including a cold bottle of water. The water didn't stay as cold and the sandwich cooled off. Please do separate bags for these types of orders. I made a Yelp just because this incident was so egregious that I found it fit to write about. A man with a teardrop tattoo on his face (you can imagine where on his face) sang me my order after taking genuinely 10 minutes to top my sandwich- mind you, it WAS WRONG. HOW?! LIKE HOW- I was late to work, then opened the sandwich- which I was at least somewhat excited for after all the heartache, and boom- soggy, and covered in mustard. I ordered the roast beef and provolone sandwich, and the tuna sandwich. The roast beef and provolone obviously had sugar in it. It was sweet. Sugar in my roast beef sandwich. Absolutely disgusting. I ate half of it, not really believing that they would put sugar into a roast beef sandwich, but when it became obvious that they had done that, I threw the rest of it away. The tuna sandwich was not so obviously sweet, but after the disaster of the roast beef sandwich, it kept tasting of sugar. I kept wondering if I was tasting sugar in the tuna sandwich also, or whether I was just imagining it. In the end, I couldn't tell, so I threw away the tuna sandwich also. An awful experience. My third Jersey Mike's in three different locations and service is always amazing. This Chico location had a gal taking multiple orders at one time and I was blown away how she could remember everything and still ask what we all had planned for the day. I wish I got her name...if she's not in charge already, she should be because she owned it and had a genuine kindness and confidence about her that is needed to successfully run a business. It was in 9/3/22 around 1:30 pm, African American gal. That's all I got, but she's a keeper for sure. Tuna sandwich I ordered was for my brother but I can say it looked delicious. Jersey Mike's has been, hands down, our favorite sandwich shop for the past few years. Until we moved to Chico and started ordering online. On weekends we like to order early in the day to pick up at dinner time. Twice our online order has been overlooked because it gets put aside and misplaced. Once they made the sandwiches too early, so they got soggy and the next shift threw them away (give them credit for caring about freshness and quality). But I've had to sit there and wait while my sandwiches get made--three times -- which sort of defeats the purpose of online ordering. We usually love jersey mikes, but today our experience was disgusting. Bought 4 sandwiches, 2 had dark hair inside the sandwiches. This is gross to eat food with a strangers hair embedded in it. we will not be returning when the food is so unsanitary. I got the Chicken Chipotle Cheese Steak with jalapeños on Rosemary Parm bread. It's to die for! So good!! The place was clean and the tasteful beach vibe decor was really nice. Before I went, I had read some of the older reviews talking about poor customer service, but man, these employees were great! They were all very nice, but the main woman taking orders was fantastic! She greeted everyone, she repeated your order back to you to make sure she got it right, and she even asked if my name was spelled with a "ph" to make sure she spelled it right on the order ticket. I LOVE Jersey Mike's. Every time I'm in socal, the boyfriend and I had to stop in. So excited that Chico finally has a Jersey Mikes! The cheese steak is FANTASTIC. Great melty cheese and the meats good too. It's so moist and delicious. I get it every time. Definitely the best cheese steak in Chico. My boyfriend also really enjoys their cold sandwiches. It's fresh and always tasty. The Italian is pretty popular. It is a little pricier than your average sandwich shop, but it's definitely worth it. We'll be visiting often! read more

So I gave it three stars because it's a clean and the sandwiches are decent. However, I have been there 5 times now because it's so close to my job hoping it'd be a better experience but every time the customer service is terrible. Never once have I been greeted with words, a smile, or any sort of acknowledgment what's so ever. When I'm finally asked what I want there is zero interaction. I've had to correct three different sandwich makers because they are so disengaged and uninterested and clearly don't listen to orders correctly. Legit sandwich spot and the customer service was phenomenal. They have this red sweet chili sauce type thing that is amazing! You could put that stuff on almost anything and I eat it lol. Living in Chico for one and a half years, I've had my share of sandwich places. After leaving, the only one that sticks to my mind is Jersey Mikes. Not only are the sandwiches to die for, but it's the service. No bratty college students work here. Employees will make you feel like you're home. They'll make sure to treat you well unlike other places. Back to the subs. I eat at Jersey Mikes A LOT even after moving. Try it Mike's Way! If you're not a fan of the regular amount of juice, ask for it lightly on the sandwich. It still tastes just as good. I love love love their Chipotle Mayo on just about anything. I love the Club Supreme, Tuna, Reuben, and basically everything else. I miss their Cali Club since I moved up north and it's exclusively in CA. Oh, and their dill pickles. Best. EVER. In comparison to other out of state locations, Redding and Chico have outstanding service and the sandwiches are absolutely beautiful. Best in Chico. read more
