Visited November 19th..see my receipt. I love this meat company! I got a standing rib roast ( prime rib with bones in and twined) for alittle over 100 bucks. It is also called a prime rib roast. It makes such an elegant main dish for the holidays! They have fresh meats...fish..jerkey..and so much more! Plenty of frozen items as well. I like this place a lot. They are right there where you can see what they're doing and they're IMMACULENTLY CLEAN, with proper safety attire. They can answer any question about their product, super helpful and polite. I rate them much higher than Wagon Wheel, much higher in service as well as product. read more

Wow!! the selection of meat. This place has is amazing! I got the tri-tip that was marinated in brown sugar and will barbecue that this weekend. they also sell bakery goods from a local bakery. FANTASTIC! My dad introduced me to this place and it did not disappoint. The team behind the counters are very friendly and super efficient. They were working hard while my dad talked to everyone. He use to be a butcher himself as well as raised his own "meat" in years passed so for him to recommend a place like this is super rare but he was right. Excellent quality meat! My fiancé and I just stopped in for the first time. We've been needing to find a place we can go where we know the products were processed and packed in house. Well we found it! The sausage selection is massive with all kinds of flavors from regular franks to chicken cordon bleu. They have a variety of specialty marinades with any kind of meat in any cut. Freshly sliced deli meats, cheese, venison salami, fish, and even some goodies for dogs. They do take EBT for everything except the small selection of meats in the warmer. But I'm pretty sure you can get those same packs cold. Prices were great, and they were all super nice and helpful. We'll definitely be back. I use Foothill Meat to process our pigs because they always do a wonderful job. Their hams, bacon and other smoked meats are amazing and not salty like some other butcher shops. I have always had a great experience with them and they are always patient and willing to explain cutting instructions if needed. read more

This is a great local business. We visit Oroville on the weekends, and make a point to stop at Foothill Meat Company on most visits. Our favorite things to get are sausages and the marinated boneless chicken thighs. Everything we have cooked up from Foothill tastes delicous. (I will give a good chunk of the credit to my husband who is a great with the bbq and uses the wood chips). The folks at the store are super friendly. We also bought a Foothill Meat Market shirt which we think is pretty cool. read more

Not very happy with this place. Took my deer to get butchered. Was super fast. When I got my meat back there was hair throughout all my packaged roasts and steaks. I called and asked if that was normal and they said they don't wash their meat before processing them. They cut them how they get them. No prep. My wife also can't have pork and they put pork fat in there snack sticks but don't notify you of it. They tell you to notify them to put beef fat not pork. Same as the ground venison I got. Very disappointed with foothill meat co. Will never go here again. read more

Found Foothill Meat Company from a Google search. We were looking for a good roast or prime rib for our Thanksgiving dinner. So glad we found them! The shop is clean and well kept. They have all your standard cuts and more. Everything from buffalo to frog legs. Prices seem fair for good quality meat. Service was excellent and friendly. They custom prep'd us a nice prime rib, and gave us some preparation tips. It was even seasoned for us and vacuum packed. We'll definitely be back, even thought it's a 60 min round trip. read more

I've been going here for 10 years at least and have found that the quality of the meat is far better than any others in Oroville.

This place has some of the best rib-eye and t-bone steaks around. I also use their roast for my jerky business. It's the best in town. They have wonderful service, and have always had my orders ready in a timely manner. Very happy and I will keep using them for all my business and personal meat needs. read more

Very disappointed. All My packaged meat was covered in hair...! I had jerky sticks and sausage made, I bet there's lots of hair in that too since they obviously don't rinse there meat. Never going here again. read more

***Warning*** Be very careful on what price they quote you. They quote you one price for butchering but when you come in to pick it up , it cost much more. I called in to find out pricing for having a deer butchered. I was told a price range that depended on the weight of the deer. The price sounded very reasonable and fair so when I got my deer I brought it in to Foothill to have it butchered. Dropping the deer off was very easy. Once the deer was weighed and placed in the freezer, I was presented with a list of choices on how I would like the deer butchered (steaks, stew meat ,Sausage, etc..). I told the lady helping me that this is my first time having a deer butchered and so she reviewed the list with me. I made my choices and was told that the deer should be ready in about 1.5 weeks. I double checked the price with her and was told the same price range again. We also speculated that my price would be on the low end of the price since the deer was not very large. So far no problems. 1 week later I get a call that my deer is ready to be picked up. The lady on the phone tells me the price and it is about 50% higher than what I was originally quoted. I asked the lady why and she told me that the deer has a flat base rate of a certain amount and then the choices made on how to have it butchered, made up the rest of the amount. I told her about the price range that I was quoted originally and she told me that she has no idea why I was told that because they have a flat rate. I then explained to her that when I was presented with the options on how to have the deer butchered , there were no extra fees listed anywhere and the lady helping me with the paper did not mention anything either about extra fees. The lady on the phone did not offer anything in response other than it cost what it cost and that they hired new people. When my wife came in to pick up the deer, she also mentioned it to the lady that was ringing up the price. The lady told her the same line of it cost what it cost. At this point the only choices we had were to either leave the deer there or just pay the giant price hike. This was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I am blown away on how bad of customer service they have there. They up my quote by 50% after they have butchered it and then just tell me sorry but it cost what it cost. I have bought meat packs from Foothill in the past and I was looking forward to giving them additional business with butchering my deer. Now I won't be coming back to them at all. read more

I tried Foothill Meat Company a few months ago when I could not find filet minion at any of the Oroville Markets. They actually came out from behind the counters to check the cut and thickness of my filet's with me before cutting them all. Since this was for Christmas I wanted it to be special for my family. Oh it was so delicious I will return for my next sit down dinner. They were reasonable, friendly and rite on time. I would recommend Foothill Meats to anyone and have several times already.
