Every business in town turned me down because I wasn't a big enough party to cater to. With only a month to spare, Bacio went above and beyond to make our graduation party a success!!! I would give this place 0 stars if it were possible! The owner is the rudest person I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. She catered a family member's wedding a few years back and during the set up of the cakes, the owner took one of them and placed it outside in the June sun, ruining it with the heat. She treated those at my table with disdain and contempt. Her wait staff was nice, but that couldn't make up for how rude the owner was to other guests. I will never eat there and I will suggest to anyone that they reconsider before booking bacio for their events. Bacio catered our wedding this past June (2018) and we couldn't have been happier with the results. Kelli was an absolute rockstar who went above and beyond the typical duties of a caterer, acting as our de-facto wedding planner, organizing tons of the small details and coordinating details with rental companies, staff and more. The food was exceptional (we still get comments from friends asking us about the food, specifically the curry bar and appetizers) and the service throughout the day was even better. Went for lunch for the first time today and was sadly super disappointed. I ordered the Baccio Bahn Mi sandwich, but they were all out of the pulled pork, so they made it with tofu instead (sad, but not devastating). The sandwich was SUPER dry and missing the kimchi that it's advertised to come with. The bread crumbled apart with every bite and again was super dry. There was no flavor on this sandwich. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back or recommending this place to anyone anytime soon. :( read more

Ordered their Valentine's dinner and it did not disappoint. Was beautiful, delicious, and very easy to reheat. The portions were good sized and everything was really really good from the appetizer to the dessert. The kids meals were also very large and tasty. Totally worth the money. Our catering experience for a group of 11 people was incredible. Paige was attentive and understanding of what our needs were, as a group that included meat-eaters, vegetarians, and some allergies. EVERYONE was so happy and full - not an easy feat considering that we had lunches and dinners lined up for several days. I'm so grateful and wish I could work with Bacio Chico for catering all the time. Unfortunately, I'm from out of town. I love Bacio's food -- I've had it so many times at weddings and I love their carry-out option during the week! Kelly was our coordinator for our wedding and she did a phenomenal job! Only items I wasn't a fan of was the asparagus (not cooked enough -- way too crunchy for my taste) and the pork tenderloin that we paid extra for (way too dry and I wasn't a fan of the sauce). However, their Chicken Marabella & Chico Rice was DELICIOUS! They even wrapped up little Mac-N-Cheese appetizers for us from our wedding since we didn't get to enjoy them during. AND they made these AMAZING Morrocan Lamb Meatballs as one of the other appetizers. Bacio takes GREAT care of their customers and their food is so tasty! They are definitely the most elevated catering company in town and most professional. They not only covered the catering aspect of our day, but also serving, bartending, AND cutting our cake. At the end of the night, they had prepared some leftovers and had them placed in the refrigerator of our suite at Hotel Diamond. Just make sure to ask for larger slices of cake for the end of the night if you're a cake person -- we had a tiny cake so they had given us small slices similar to what the guests received. read more

What we got was two tiny boxes (the equivalent of tv dinners) with two pathetic small pieces of beef, about 1/2 a cup of broccoli, and a cup of mashed potatoes in each. One tiny salad and 1 small desert. Oh and about 1 piece of bread. This was absolutely a scam and a joke of a dinner. Never buying from here again. Don't waste you're time or money. read more

I had booked them for my wedding reception, however due to family reason I had to cancel. During the short time working with this company I worked with Sheri Pybas. She is the most approachable, sincere, considerate, and patient person. I am heart broken I do not get to share my day with this company. However, I plan to use them for many events in my future and highly recommend them to anyone for any event. Bacio catered our wedding at the Creekside Rose Garden (CARD center) and we cannot say enough about the experience. We did a buffet that included the freshest ingredients available locally. Everyone raved about the food including and especially our picky eaters. The setup was coordinated with CARD staff and arranged beautifully. They provided the linens which went well with the table decorations. There were plenty of friendly staff to assist and they even packed bride and groom take home food boxes to be sure we got to eat. We just got a lovely card from them expressing their appreciation at serving us with their well wishes. Love this place. Can't wait to go back and enjoy lunch. read more

My review is specifically regarding their catering service for weddings. I have had better experiences in the past with Bacio (about 5 years ago) but they did my sisters wedding last year and I was really disappointed. For her wedding she decided to just do cocktails and appetizers since it was later evening wedding and they wanted to be able to invite more people. Unfortunately, I can't really judge the food, because every time I went over to the appetizer table it was pretty much empty, and it wasn't because they were out of food, they just weren't refilling the table. They were also supposed to prepare a take home bag of some if the food for the bride and groom to take with them to the hotel. But they didn't bring that out until the very end of the night, when we were cleaning up and the bride and groom had obviously already left ... The bride and groom ended up having pizza delivered to the honeymoon suite later that night. Bacio was also responsible for the bar service at the wedding and at one point they left the bar completely unattended, so a friend of the groom just took over for a while so people could get their drinks! Toward the end of the evening when they called last call (by that point Bacio was running the bar again) my sister, the bride, went to the bar for a refill of her champagne and they told her they were out. She then asked them about the unopened bottle that they obviously still had, behind the bar and they said they didn't want to open it because it wasn't cold... Really? You're not going to serve the bride a last glass if champagne (which she and her husband paid for) just because you don't have a cold bottle? So, I just hope this review may help others planning their weddings to think twice about hiring Bacio. Until recently you had to hire Bacio if you had your wedding at the Lakeside Pavilion, but now you can hire anyone, so do explore all your options because I know you can find something better for your special day! read more

Definitely not worth the price. Chicken noodle soup was mostly onion soup with a spoonful of chicken and a spoonful of noodles. There were a ton of onions in it. Tri tip was tender and cooked appropriately, but severely underflavored. Garlic mashed potatoes were bland. Mac and cheese was not good and had a poor texture. If the food was of good quality I wouldn't mind the rediculous price tag. read more

Catering services review My husband and I worked with Bacio over the last year to cater our wedding held on 5/24/15 in Paradise. We have nothing but good things to say about the service, food, and experience we had with Bacio. When we decided to get married, Bacio kept coming up as one of the caterers people recommended the most. We initially planned to meet with them and few others, but after our initial meeting and tasting in July 2014 with Kelli, we were sold. Besides having delicious food, the service was spot-on. Kelli worked with us from start to finish and we could not have been more pleased with the service she and the rest of the staff provided. We chose the sumptuous buffet for our wedding. We chose the tri-tip, chicken marbella, chico rice, lentil rice salad and the green salad. They worked with us and allowed us to tweak the menu to meet our tastes. For example, I was able to work with them to create a chimichurri sauce to accompany the tri-tip to share my Argentinean heritage with our guests. They also made up a chicken empanada for us that we ended up using as a late-night snack for our guests. Our guests commented how delicious and bountiful the food was, which was not news to use, but made us feel good knowing our guests were equally pleased with the menu we had chosen. Also, they wrapped up all of the leftovers, and provided my groom and I with a doggie bag that had a little bit of everything that had been served the night before. The quality of the food was outstanding. The chicken was moist and flavorful and the tri-tip was delicious. It's not easy to serve quality food in an outdoor setting to 140 hungry guests, but they did it without a problem. Kelli was great to work with. Living in SoCal we couldn't meet with her as frequently as we wanted to, however she always responded to emails in a timely manner, chatted with us over the phone and even met with us over FaceTime. Being that our wedding was held at a private residence, she met with us a few months prior to look at the space and come up with a layout that made sense for them and also for our guests. Despite being 8 months pregnant at the time of our wedding, she was there making sure everything was how we had discussed for the past year. We also used them to coordinate our rentals and provide bar service. We were very happy with both elements and would definitely recommend that option to other couples. Not only did Bacio prepare and serve excellent food and drinks but the level of service that they provided was above and beyond. My husband created the most lovely tradition of returning each year for our anniversary and the staff always makes sure we get what we need and want! Their food is always high quality, fresh and made with care. We consistently get Chicken Marbella (juicy and flavorful), tri tip (the sauce is the bomb), pasta pomodoro (no words for the deliciousness), salad and veggies (always seasonal and fresh). Bacio Carry Out is a fantastic place to get healthy (if you choose) and delicious food. I often pick up and carry out for dinner when I don't want to cook. Good choices of salads, soups. "The Sandwich" (pulled pork or chicken) is amazing as is the Hungarian Soup, Chico Rice and Thai Chicken Salads. A little on the pricy side, but you know you're getting healthy, delicious, lovingly made food. Baio Carry Out is also great to pick up items for a picnic or concert in the park! read more

The whole process of working with them, getting a quote, making selections, and carrying out the wedding was easy, professional, and satisfying. Kelli was our point person for coordinating between the vendors and the venue, making sure everything went according to plan. That was extra helpful in our case, because we were planning the wedding from across the country. The customer experience was great, and the price was very reasonable. Between the cocktail hour snacks, the table settings, and the meal itself, I wouldn't have been surprised for the whole thing to have cost twice what it did. But the most important part: the food was incredible. We chose the grateful greens, the make it grain, polenta lasagna, and Korean braised short ribs, and again, totally stunning. I could see paying an obscene amount of money if this were based in a more urban setting, but Bacio is yet another amazing place tucked away in Chico. read more

We hired Bacio for our wedding on 9/8/12. They did a great job. The food was great!! I had people telling me that it was the best wedding food they had ever had. Amanda, the owner, and her staff were very friendly and professional. Amanda brought us water while we were taking pictures because it was so hot out. I felt kind of like a princess. She even wet a towel to put over my shoulders because it was so hot. Business wise they were very communicative, speedy and detailed. Amanda came out to the location with us and walked us through everything. She also helped with ordering the tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception. One of the best quality, healthiest, and most convenient lunch places in town. Been coming here for lunch for quite a while. It is obvious they pay attention to quality and freshness. Paleo/low carb folks will love it. The meats are excellent: tri-tip, salmon, chicken, meatballs, meatloaf (if you have trouble finding good meatloaf- go to Bacio). Lots of great sides: salads, noodles, mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, etc. AND today I discovered the hot & sour beef soup... HIT! With Wild Oak Café out of business, Bacio has become all the more essential for fresh, healthy food. My husband and I hired Bacio's to cater our June 9th wedding at the Chico Women's Club. We were impressed with Bacio's from the moment we sat down for our initial tasting with Sherry. Sherry was warm and friendly; she understood our budget limitations and worked with us to create a menu that fit our needs. We found that Sherry went above and beyond the call of duty -- she even helped us develop a floor plan and time schedule for the reception. As someone who has worked in the Chico community for years, Sherry and her team are knowledgeable about many venues in the area, including our own. As an overwhelmed first year teacher planning a wedding -- this extra assistance was a huge weight off of my shoulders. On the "Day Of" we were equally impressed with the rest of the staff who helped with service. They were punctual and highly professional, paying attention to the details. My aunt who attended the wedding has SEVERE food allergies, and had a special order. The catering staff immediately identified her at the reception and presented her with a dish to fit her specific needs. Additionally, while my husband and I opted for a "self serve" bar, catering staff pitched in when there was an "emergency" with the sangria. Finally, the food was plentiful and delicious -- several of my family members went back for seconds, and no one left hungry. As my new husband and I left for the night we were presented with leftovers from the evening -- including slices of cake and a bottle of champagne to take with us to Hotel Diamond.
