Three Meat Plate with brisket, ribs, and chicken.
    Elsa M.

This is a great little place! They give lots of food. The brisket falls apart in your mouth. The ribs are great! We got the combo plates (hubby and I) and together had the brisket, half chicken, pulled pork, and spare ribs. All the meat was so good, and they have a variety of BBQ sauces on the table. The sides we got were cornbread, fries, and baked beans. I just wish this place was closer!

Really like this place. Just visiting the Dam and this place was easy access and brand new. Great food at a good price and I had leftovers too. Staff was extremely nice too

I visited this BBQ restaurant recently and this was maybe my 3rd time visiting, and while the overall experience was decent, there were a few things that stood out. First, the loaded mac and cheese was alright, but definitely not homemade. The beef brisk is tender, but doesn't come with bbq sauce you have to make sure to grab some yourself. I notice the loaded Mac was more of a pre-made dish with toppings thrown on. It didn't have that rich, creamy, comforting texture you the flavors were solid, though nothing really wowed me. Customer service could also use a bit of work. The staff were polite but a little distant, the food was very warm and not a long wait at all. Overall, a good place if you're craving BBQ.

We ordered the 3 meat bbq plate, which had the beef brisket, tri tip, and chicken. The chicken was kind of dry inside, but the brisket was delicious.

Came out to Oroville to see the dam and wanted to get lunch before heading back home to Sacramento. My mother was in the mood for bbq and I found this spot on Yelp. The interior was nice and clean, football on the tv's, and there weren't very many people eating. They had a varied menu which was bigger than I expected. I got the 2 meat plate with the brisket & ribs with tater tots and cornbread on the side. My husband got the Cowboy Burger minus the onion ring with fries. My parents shared a 3 meat plate with tri-tip, ribs and hot links with onion rings and coleslaw. The food was delicious and my husband liked his burger. The brisket and the ribs were very tender and everything tasted very well seasoned. My dad liked the Spicy Pineapple BBQ and their sweet bbq sauce was my favorite. The portions were generous and we had plenty of leftovers. I'd highly recommend stopping in and checking it out if you're passing through.

This is a nice find in Oroville! They are located in a big shopping center where FoodMax and Grocery outlet is located. ( off of Oro Dam Blvd). They reopened less than 3 weeks ago with new owners. The place is clean inside and well staffed. They offer free tea and sell sodas( no alcohol). I ordered the 1 item plate with 2 sides. The tri tip was moist and flavorfull. The coleslaw was wonderful and their mac and cheese was creamy (best mac and cheese i have ever had). I also got a side order of the street corn...well seasoned and yummy! I shared this plate between two of us and it was plenty of food...and leftovers! I can see ordering the ribs next time. Burgers looked good too! The staff is friendly and the order came out quickly. I would definitely reccomend this place...who doesnt love a BBQ! I will be visiting this place again when i am in town!

Pork Belly Tacos, Bacon Avocado Burger, 3 Meat Plate

Wanted to try the food because I love smoked bbq foods. Three meat plate: the ribs were delicious. Nice and tender fall off meat that is juicy. Tangy sweet bbq sauce drizzled on top with some already glazed sauce cooked over it for that nice texture. Nicely seasoned and tasted really great.. Brisket was good, tender, and fatty. Was a bit disappointed there wasn't much of a bark on it. Still smoky and tender meat. Dash of salt and it was perfect. Tri tip was perfect. Always order a level earlier to what you enjoy. Knowing it'll sit there for a bit to rest to get to your table. Got it medium and when it came, it was a perfect juicy medium well. It was so good with the charred marks as well. Potato salad. Delicious and fresh. Simple and tasty. Coleslaw. So good when you are eating so much meat. Love the recipe and it was really enjoyable. Burger and Onion rings: simple basic bacon avocado burger. Cooked well. Unseasoned patty, but perfect when dipped in their sauces and homemade ranch. Pork belly tacos were pretty good. Crunchy pork belly topped with Cabbage and cilantro mix that made it so good and fresh. Nice creamy mild spicy sauce on top .The complaint was that most of the pork belly we got were black burnt on the sides and made the meat really dry. The tortilla also could've used some toasting/grill marks. It tasted like out of the bag, put under some heat to loosen it before it becomes cold again with no changes. Their homemade BBQ sauces.. Really disappointed because all of the sauces tasted almost identical. All sweet and tangy but it had a tiny hint of something different in each sauce. The spicy ones were sweeter than the sweet ones and not spicy at all. So no matter which bbq sauce you tried, it was like eating the same sauce but in a different tone of sweetness or tang. BBQ sauce is still good and enjoyable but gets boring. So when you're enjoying your many meats, you can't really change up the sauces for a different kick. Yes you can add hot sauces too but I wanted to enjoy the in house BBQ sauces because I was there for it. Not for other hot sauces made from popular brands. Overall Food 4/5 Service 5/5 Thank you!

This is the best restaurant in town! I love this place…read more I had the BLT salad again and it was fabulous. It's because they use a very good quality bacon and blue cheese. I get it with blue cheese dressing Hubby got the shrimp scampi again. And loved it. It was light and the shrimp was really good. The fizz is better without the extra lemon and lime in it (which I asked for but won't do next time) I also really liked the white linen drink. Sat outside on the patio this time and enjoyed it

There was no salt or pepper on the meat making it bland. The caramelized onions were flavorless. The only flavor was the marbled rye bread with thousand island dressing. Hot chocolate and iced tea were the drinks. They had to go across the street to get the hot chocolate at their coffee house. Overall, this is a good place to eat. It has a nice patio out back too. A friend and I were headed to an MMA event just north of Oroville and needed a quick bite to eat,…read moreso pulled off and hit Yelp to find something good in the area. Vallarta Grill looked like a good option so we headed over. This was a Saturday evening (about 6pm)... they were busy, but had no trouble seating us within a couple minutes (the host had to duck out to clean the booth for us). The menu is very complete - lots of options! It was honestly tough to make a choice. I chose the Lamb Shank, which included an enchilada. I was given the choice of ground beef, shredded beef or chicken for the enchilada. I asked if I could somehow upgrade to a shrimp enchilada and was politely declined. My date chose the chile verde. I also ordered coconut shrimp as an appetizer. First up was the coconut shrimp - first impression: I was surprised at how "flat" they were! Obviously it was intentional, but flatter than anything I've seen or had before. I jokingly called them "road kill shrimp" and my date slapped me. They were good, though, and I understood and appreciated the reason(s) for flattening them - more surface area for the breading, even cooking and easy to scoop up the yummy sauce. Next up were the main dishes - the Lamb Shank was good... imo, I would have liked the sauce to be a little thicker, but the flavor was good. I really liked the enchilada too. I didn't have a ton of the rice and beans just because I normally don't eat much of that - but it was good, better than I've had elsewhere! I had a bite of my friend's chile verde too and give it a thumbs up. I love flan. I was full enough that I didn't need to order flan, but I couldn't leave without giving the flan a try. I'm glad I did! The flan was very good, some of the best I've had in a while. Overall, great meal and I wouldn't hesitate to drop by again if I was in the area.

To my surprise they gave me complimentary chips and salsa with bean dip. It was good my favorite was the bean dip. The horchata had a little too much ice for me. I ordered a wet burrito (~$24) and it was decent. Everything was served to me so fast, excellent service. In my opinion it was on the more expensive side but it's a sit down restaurant so you're paying for that experience. I enjoyed my experience overall I would recommend this to someone who likes quality Mexican food.
