After the appointment, I drove down and decided to give them a shot. From the moment I walked through the door to the moment I left the parking lot, the experience was absolutely fantastic. The place was run by a team of youngsters, but they were service‑oriented, polite, gracious, and genuinely willing to help. The interior was clean--nothing fancy, but exactly what you'd expect from a good burger joint. I ordered a half pound burger with cheese and fixings, and when the food arrived, I was stunned. The burger was gorgeous, and the amount of French fries they gave me was generous. Visited September 8th..see my receipt I didn't give them 5 stars because it took over 15 minutes for a junior boss burger (no cheese..simple) with no one else's order to work on. To be fair I heard the phone ring a couple times and it sounded like it could be for take out orders. The burger was good..nothing special. Bun had a nice warmth to it. Almost 6 bucks for a small burger! I heard their fries are really good but I wasn't very hungry so I passed on them. They also have a kids menu. Best burger in Butte County! Burger patty was ultra tender and massive. Chili cheese bacon fries and milkshakes were extremely amazing. Wonderful staff and excellent service. Ambiance was clean and parking is in the back door. Restaurant is right near the Feather River Bridge Downtown Oroville. Way better than Five Guys, In N Out, Burger King etc. Highly recommend tourists to try this place and I promise you'll totally love it!! You won't regret it. She explained she had to get back to work and could they please hurry. After 22 minutes she still did not have her fries. She asked about it and explained she had to leave to get back to work and was told they were not ready yet but she could come back when she got off work at 5:30. Been going here for a long time from when I lived here as a kid to traveling here to fish the Feather river to now as my wife and I travel here to visit Oroville quite frequently, Boss burger is always on our priority list of places to stop by. Just stopped in today and once again nothing has changed except the prices I think have gone up. The food is consistently great and the service is great as well. Best burger and fries hands down. I grew up in Oroville, and their food is absolutely delicious. The staff is always kind and welcoming, which makes the place feel like home. The service can take a little while, but everything's made fresh, so it's worth the wait. The owner/cook cooked a burger which was ordered "medium well" actually had charred edges. When asked to make a different burger he flatly refused as well as refusing a refund. He also replied that "no the customer isn't always right" and he banned the person in question from coming back. The service of the rest of tge staff was excellent and cordial. However the owner seems to have inherited his father's bad attitude. My Grandmother lived on Mongomery Street about a block from The Boss. One thing none of us EVER forgot is that back in 1975, regular cheese burgers were $ 1.65. That's 50 years ago. Burgers there were 5 times higher there than ANYWHERE. We never could afford to go there. No one could. I read the reviews about the long waits. I guarantee you there was no waits in 1975. There was a place around there in Oroville that had burgers 10/ 1.00. That was our spot. Gas was about 33 cents a gallon. I'm trying to draw a picture how crazily over priced The Boss was 50 years ago. I was 11 then and 60 now and any time I even think of The Boss, all I can think of is the ridiculous prices. read more

I had the avocado burger with a small fry which was large enough to share for the two of us. The avocado burger was way Better than I expected and this spot lived up to the Yelp reviews.
