This place was supposedly open until 5 pm. We pulled up at 4 pm and saw people coming out with orders. We walked inside to order and the person working there apologized and said, "we aren't making any more sandwiches today." If you are going to post hours, you should serve customers up to that time. read more

I popped into Great Harvest for the first time today! For being about 12:30 on a Friday, I was surprised at how empty the place was. There were two baskets by the door with clipboards, one for salads and one for sandwiches. The clipboards for sandwiches were gone, despite only one other person ahead of me, so I had to wait to start ticking off my order. Once I brought my completed form to the register, I paid and waited less than 5 mins to receive my order. The good? The bread was super fresh! The minor bummer? There were no options for rolls, sliced bread only, and no option to toast the sliced bread. This is a bakery that offers lunch options; I think I prefer my sammies from a true deli, with fresh sliced meat piled high. At $13.75 for Pastrami & Swiss on sourdough, I would have expected a bit more bulk. I would consider Great Harvest in the future for baked goods, but likely go elsewhere for a sandwich. read more

I was looking for someplace to eat lunch on Monday and I had always seen this place as I was driving down Esplanade but figured they were more of a bakery than someplace that also offered delicious lunch items as well. I used the online ordering system they had and my order is as follows; a Chico Chicken Salad on Sourdough, a Tim Buc More on Sourdough and then a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Loaf as well as a Cinnaburst Loaf. I added a Salted Caramel Cookie onto my order before finishing as well. I waited the alotted time and headed in. I picked up a big bag of food and headed home to eat. The place was pretty cool inside, you could see all of the bakery processes going on from behind the register. They had two young employees that looked like they were hard at work as well as a couple people ordering. I got home and everything was in the back except for the Cookie! At $2.50 a cookie I was definitely going to call back just to let them know. They had told me they sold out earlier and could offer me a refund. I was actually going to come back and grab a different flavor if there was one available but they insisted on a refund so I opted with that. I guess it would have been nice to know the cookie wasn't in the bag prior to getting home but they must have forgot. Anyways! On to the food! That Chicken Salad sandwich was FRESH! Even down to the toppings, i mean that was one of the freshest Chicken Salads i've had for lunch out here! Outstanding! The panini was toasted to perfection and was packed with flavor! After eating lunch, I felt full, but none of it was heavy and left me feeling lethargic. This was a great way to start my day, thank you guys so much! read more

It was one of those things you order on the phone, run in, grab and go back to work. Only to find the sandwich is not what was expected. If you want your customers to fill out the boards for all orders salads/soups/sandwiches then don't put a sign on the basket stating "sandwich menu" and please put the menus closer to the door so people can grab them and have them filled out before getting to the front. I got the Fuji apple salad and I was pretty disappointed. There's really no flavor to this, it is bland. I think it would taste better if the dressing was flavored like a raspberry vinaigrette or the pecans were sweet/ candied. I ordered two special breads over a week in advance. I was told it could be picked up at 7:30am the day I needed it. I called before leaving, and the order could not be located, and because it was a special order, could not be made. But after going to the store close to my home on the Esplanade twice now, having the bad luck to be served by the same gal both times! That's enough. The bread is great. All the cookies except for the chocolate cookies are soft and tasty. For some reason, the chocolate chip cookies, my favorite, are usually rock hard! I used to go here ALL the time since its one of the closest things to my work but lately (as in the last 6 months) boy, has this place gone downhill. Called in my order today about 15 minutes before I got there, when I arrived the guy asked me my name 4 times, then told me it would be ready in 20 minutes and that they haven't even started it. FYI there was one guy in front of my order and there was 2 employees talking in the back an one person sweeping. I'm sorry but WHAT? 20 minutes for no one in the store and 4 people working there not making orders. Thanks but no thanks. The bread is good. Not amazing but good. The service always felt like it was an inconvenience to the staff. Last time I was there (about 6 months ago) I was downright insulted by the guy at the front and then stared at when I refused to respond or acknowledge him. I really love the sandwiches offered at Great Harvest. I'm sure it is because the bread is so fresh, but it is really delicious. My husband is a fan of their breakfast selections and often stops in for their bacon wheel or a cinnamon roll on the way to work. It can seem pricey but it is worth it for the quality. So yesterday afternoon i walked to Great Harvest Bread Co. on Esplanade to pick up some pumpkin bread. This is my first time going into any Great Harvest so i walked in and there was a white couple already ordering and two cashiers one was a white lady and the other was a white guy both were in their late 20s. So when i walked in i saw the guy attending the couple and the lady was on the phone we made eye contact. She was on the phone for like 5 minutes and the guy got done taking the couples order the lady hang up the call looked at me and walked to the guy. So 5 minutes pass by and I'm waiting so i looked over at the cashier saying "excuse me" their both talking and laughing while i just stand there so i say "excuse me" again and still nothing. I see the guy making the couple a coffee i was fine with that but the lady was standing next to the guy still talking. So it's been about 15 minutes now and still haven't gotten any help or "I'll be with you in a sec" so the lady walks to the back to get a broom and she starts brooming and the guy got done making the coffees he doesn't look at me but says I'll be right there then the lady that's grooming looks at me and says whoops didnt see you there. In my head i was like "are you fucking kidding me i was standing there for 20 minutes you even made eye contact with me twice" i didn't even get a sorry or anything she takes her time getting the bread. So i paid and walked out and two white girls walk in and the cashier helped them both right away. I was so pissed i should've left but i really wanted my pumpkin bread. This place has the best cookies hands down. The sandwiches are great too, the bread is all so fresh.

The great harvest salad is seriously the best. They make their own balsamic dressing and croutons and I could eat that salad every day. Plus they have great fresh made bread with little ingredients and if you haven't had their bread before go into the store and they'll give you a sample from the bread board. Long story short, no one had checked the fax machine, so there my order sat. So if you fax an order in, perhaps calling afterward to make sure the fax was picked up might be a good idea. read more

The bread is great. Sandwiches are wholesome, fresh and tasty. Service has always seemed good at all their locations. Now my pet peeve - I choose not to drink the sugary fountain drinks and you have to gall to up-charge an iced tea? You say that it's Peet's like that makes it better than a regular iced tea. I don't care for their coffee. Doubt that I would like their tea. Please bring back regular iced tea and charge the same as a coke. read more
