Visited July 29 2026. See both my receipts. While in Oroville I stopped in here because last time I had an awesome experience. Of course I had to get their chicken pho...big bowl of goodness! Love all the extra jalapeños as well! I also ordered an entree...it had beef and chicken and thick noodles ( see my receipt for what it was called). It was just okay...i should have ordered the dish with fried rice like last time..my bad! They have beer and wine as well. Mochi desserts( bought one chocolate to go). LISA came in as I was finishing sampling the food..she is SO Awesome and boxed up my food for me. It's a little warm inside but still very comfortable! They also do alot of takeout out orders! Was craving a nice bowl of Thai boat noodle so of course, did some research on yelp and after reading some good reviews...we decided to make the hour trip to give it a try. When we entered, it was quite confusing as there were no signs to seat ourselves or wait to be seated. There were menus by the door so we each grabbed one and roam around for a place to sit. It is quite a huge establishment. There weren't many customers, maybe two other tables were occupied. There was a worker at the register and after deciding what we wanted, we figured we must go put in our order since no one came to us. Let me just say, the menu prices need to be updated! After ordering and looking at the receipt, the prices were different...higher than on the menu. For instance, the Thai boat noodle on the menu was $16.99, was charged $17.95 and the menu online is $18. Once we ordered, the service picked up. They brought our drinks and condiments. Took about 10 minutes for the first dish and another 10 for the rest. My biggest disappointment was the Thai boat noodle. It was super salty and didn't taste like Thai boat noodles. It had a weird off taste or flavor, reminds me of medicine...like a herbal medicine. The beef was actually quite tender but had to pass on the noodles and broth. I wanted so much to like it. The other dishes: Papaya salad was spicy but good. Pig intestines were delicious with nice texture. Kapoon was decent with a good portion of chicken. I do recommend giving this place a shot as we all have different taste buds. read more

You can order at a screen or with the staff person at the counter. Some great photo ops inside with a fun greenery backdrop as well as a rose backdrop. Quiet instrumental-type music was playing during our visit. "Best papaya salad ever!" says my husband -- and we eat a lot of papaya. We had ordered 2 combo papaya salads for dine-in, and then promptly ordered 3 spicy and 1 mild to take to my cousin's afterwards. The pho broth was top notch, as well as the khao poon. The khao poon is customizable and you can add quail eggs, pork blood, etc. The tricolor dessert drink / navaam was also really good with a fun selection of jellies. Definitely worth the stop if you love Hmong / Lao / Southeast Asian cuisine. read more

Smaller spring rolls, runny sauces and cream cheese wontons with exactly that and paper, absolutely no flavor. Items are packed in a bowl and food gets so soggy. Very dissatisfied with them this time, the flavors weren't there. read more

Food was great- I am OBSESSED with the spicy cucumber salad. Pho was a huge portion & really flavorful. Decor was cute. 4 stars because I felt like the server was not into it- ordered Pho with extra noodles and a bowl for kids because they don't have kids plates-- after the fact she told us most people share because it's so big. When I 1st walked in with my little family, it was very hard to tell how to be seated and order our food. Servers were really nice, however; our food took a little over an hour to be served. I eventually asked for the food to go bc I'm not from around town. 50mins in to waiting for our food we got put appetizer. I'd probably wouldn't come back again. The best Asian Food restaurant in Oroville. Super nice vibes, owners are always friendly. I practically made this my go to spot for my friends and I to meet up. After introducing them to Hmong Food, they can't get enough of it. Prices are fair and they have happy hours and specials. Some of the best pho and Thai boat in town. Been wanting to try this place for a while now because they have Thai boat noodles and I'm glad I did... it's located towards the outskirts of Oroville, kind of sketch because it's just this restaurant and a liquor store next door - but don't be afraid, definitely go in and eat. The place is pretty small.. you walk up and order at the counter... they have a huge water pitcher next to the cashier, so if you want water you get it yourself- which is nice , I guess... because you can get as much as you want .. and the cups they provide is a pretty decent size, it's not the small cups.. They have a pretty big menu: appetizers, soup noodles (pho, Kapoon, kaopiek, etc), pan fried foods (kraw pow, pad see eww, etc), rice plates (Hmong sausages, fried pork, teriyaki chicken etc) .. The menu is very traditional with the Hmong, mien, and Thai style of cooking .. definitely like home cooking We ordered the Thai Boat Noodles, teriyaki chicken, and papaya salad . Thai Boat Noodles: - it was good, they gave lots of meat, meatballs and tripe. It was a little salty, but adding vinegar to it helps - would order it again if I'm ever craving it Papaya salad: yummy - this is the traditional taste that I'm used to.. the funky, crunchy, sour and spicy taste with Kapoon noodles, very good.! Asked for medium spicy and it looked like there was a lot of peppers, but wasn't as "medium" spicy as it seemed Chicken teriyaki: my boyfriend ordered this - he said it was good and he would come back to order it again. ...but - one thing that was a little weird/ off ... the chicken teriyaki was served in a "to-go" , styrofoam container... we were both kind of confused about it because we stated we were eating there .. and wasn't expecting that. First time trying the spot, it's located a bit far from downtown almost on the exact opposite side near tabletop rd near all the new builds, but the food was worth the trek. We ordered two Kapoon( chicken curry noodle) and one kapiet (chicken noodle soup with starchy noodle). The kapiet was very good and similar to other kapiet you'll find. It's a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup and a sure way for bowl of happiness if you're ever craving for soothing noodle soup. 5 out 5 The kapoon was ok, it's different and had a lot of bamboo, I would come back for this. 4 out 5 Last but not least the the pork egg roll, since it sat in the container from the car ride home, the wrapping was no longer crispy. But the filling was delicious and has a good combo of pork, clear noodle and veggies. 4 out 5 Overall the food is delicious and glad to have tried it. Would come back to try other dishes. read more

Do not hesitate!! This place is BOMBBBBBBB!!! Looks really unassuming, but the food is amazing. Perfect flavors, flavorful, don't skimp on veggies n goodies... didn't even need to add extra sauce to our food cuz it was so perfectly and deliciously flavored. Can't wait to come back! Kao poon red curry soup is absolutely fantastic, tofu spring rolls delicious and tasty peanut sauce, teriyaki happy plate was cooked and seasoned well and teriyaki sauce that came with it was very tasty. THE FOOD IS CONSISTENCY! The flavor-wise is wonderful! It's not too salty or too bland, just the right amount. The pepper is so good too, make sure to dip your meat in it! I would highly recommend it! I usually order - Combo C (BBQ Pork Belly, Lao Sausage, and Smoke Sausage) - Pork Egg Rolls *AMAZING; literally the best egg rolls I have eaten* (their peanut sauce is amazing!) - KaoPiak - Papaya *if you can take the heat, go for extra spicy 8+ peppers* Service is great, they will have someone up in the front to take orders. Most food takes about 10-15 minutes, which is not too bad. Food does come out hot and ready, which is a big plus! The ambiance is welcoming and nice! Love hearing the Hmong music that is playing in the background and the seating is FCFS. This is so good !! I phoned in to go and it was fast and easy pick up for a great price. It's seriously good food and I cannot wait to go back to try more things from the menu. I got the bbq plate that had bbq pork belly, smoke & Lao sausage, sour bean thread noodle salad and pork egg rolls. The noodle salad was really great and refreshing. The sticky rice that came with the bbq meats was amazing as well! It was so delicious and the portions are awesome. I'm so happy to find an authentic SE Asian restaurant. We have many Hmong residents in our Oroville neighborhood. (The Hmong helped in the U.S. war against the Laotian and Cambodian Khmer Rouge.) I give them much respect. But Oh My Gosh! Their food is sooooo delicious! This restaurant gives me so much hope that Americans will come to not only know the Hmong sacrifices in supporting America, but also the absolutely wonderful and tasty food that their culture adds to our "melting pot." Spicy Kitchen has a limited menu, but EVERY item is tasty and well prepared. Take out or dine in, it is hard for me to imagine anyone being disappointed. This place is delicious! Omg, the boat noodle is so flavorful! It's not on the menu yet, so you will have to ask to order it. I'm a picky person when it comes to Laos style papaya salad.
