The only time I've been able to try the food here is to redeem my free bow of pho/ramen. The pho is decent for being free, but it's definitely better than the ramen. Every time Ive tried to eat here for it's been too busy or closed. I did order a beef chow fun to go and it was disappointing for being $19! The noodles were too soft. While visiting the Hard Rock Casino in Wheatland, we decided on dinner at YouYu Noodle Bar. This is actually a follow-up to a recent post where I was not pleased with a to-go order, but they have certainly made up for it this time around, and I dined in this time. Service was quick, and they had a nice selection of appetizers, Entrees, including Noodles and Rice bowl selections. We selected the Roast Duck and Broccoli Beef entrees. The roast duck was very fresh, and it was good, but I wish they provided a duck sauce to give it a little more flavor. The broccoli and beef was very good, with great flavor, the beef was tender, and the broccoli was very fresh. I was watching the large noodle bowls being served and the dim sum and now I like to try that on my next visit. It's a nice place to take a break from gambling, especially if you're pretty hungry, because the servings are pretty good. Tried Youyo recently and was pleasantly surprised with the variety of flavors. The beef broccoli was packed with flavor and had that perfect balance of savory and tender beef. The walnut shrimp stood out with its nice sweetness that wasn't overpowering, making it a great dish to share. I also really enjoyed the spare rib, which was cooked perfectly--tender and full of flavor. The chicken feet leaned a little sour for my taste, but it might be enjoyable if you like a tangier profile but i'm pretty sure it might have been bad. Thank you to our server, for switching it out for us though. On the other hand, the Hainanese chicken was excellent, especially paired with the ginger sauce that really brought out its flavors. Found this place inside of the Hard Rock. Kind of an interesting mesh of asian food. Some Chinese, some Vietnamese, and some sushi thrown In. Yummy, yummy, yummy get in my tummy. We went to a concert a Toyota Amphitheater down the street and were hungry for some noodles afterwards and decided to give YOUYU Noodle Bar a try. The casino was so busy and we did not have a reservation so we decided it might be worth the wait to sit at the bar. We've been here a handful of times late night after the A1 Combat fights. I recommend making a reservation on Open Table. Regardless if it's packed, which it usually is, or empty- the staff all seem to love their job! They are friendly and have an energetic mood. Theres a busser in particular who has such good energy every time we see him - playful with the other staff and genuinely happy. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and has an up-scale Chinese vibe. The red accent lighting and brightly colored rugs complement the ambiance nicely. The food is always fresh, hot, and flavorful! Some of our favorite dishes are: Szechuan Green Beans - helllla flavorful with a little bit of that tongue-numbing heat Pad Kra Pao (Ground Chicken Basil Stir Fry) - the chicken is chunky ground pieces so it's meatier than other places. And love that it's loaded with veggies and tiny cut green beans. It comes with a side of rice too! Steamed Pork Buns - comes with 3 per order but they are pretty big! Super soft and fluffy and has a generous amount of bbq pork inside. The pork is meaty, not fatty and saucy to soak into the bun. Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin- good portion of beef for 2 people with lots of bell peppers and onions to add to the volume of the dish. The black pepper sauce is delicious, has lots of garlic pieces mixed in. Really good on top of the complimentary rice to soak it up. Pork potstickers- pan fried and taste like they are made in-house. Appreciate that it comes with 6 pieces so that there's enough to go around. The dipping sauce is good too, not your average soy sauce. The meat itself taste high quality and really tender. Every time I come here, the line is an hour long. Today their excuses they only have one server and they're on a limited menu and the line is an hour along with about 30 people waiting. How is this possible and how do they manage to stay in business. We had the opportunity to dine at Youyu after a show at Hard Rock Live. I loved that the restaurant is open late enough for a sit down dinner after a concert. We opted in to a few different dishes to try including the orange chicken, chicken and vegetable chow mein, beef with broccoli and honey walnut shrimp which also came with jasmine rice. My spouse devoured the orange chicken. It was the perfect amount of crisp and the flavor was on par. Though it was plain steamed rice it was just what I was craving, cooked to perfection. Honey walnut shrimp was delicious the sauce was delicious. The beef broccoli has some mushrooms carrots and green onions in it but the flavor was amazing. Everything we had was delicious. This place looks really nice. We didn't eat inside, but I only stopped by to try the coconut drink they had. I had seen someone playing on the casino floor with it and asked where she got it. The lady who took my order seemed nice, but she was kind of grumpy and rude. There was a coconut drink behind her with someone else's takeout order. She turned around behind her and tried to give it to me. I told her no, that's someone else's order. Give me a fresh one. She told me it's the same thing. I told her no, it's not. Like, really? After a few minutes, she came out with mine. When she handed it to me it was nice and cold. The drink was super refreshing. They were decent but $12 for 3 is a little steep on price. We also got the Szechuan green beans. They would have been great if they weren't so salty it almost hurts your mouth (granted, I enjoyed the most). We then got pork fried rice, orange chicken and general tao chicken. Fried rice was kinda wet and again salty. The chickens pretty much tasted the same and the texture was bizarre. It was chewy and didn't look like fresh white or brown meat for that matter. Very odd. Tried this place with a friend last night. Our server was an excellent 5/5 stars. The food tasted good but completely jacked up my stomach yesterday and today. My friend also had bubble guts for a day. Both of us only ate together at this restaurant and were completely separate all day everyday prior to eating at YOUYU restaurant, so it could not have been other food. I'm never eating there again. We asked a few of the casino employees where we should eat prior to picking the Asian restaurant and all of the employees recommended the Hard-rock Cafe over the Asian restaurant. Was excited about our menu offerings selections but was pretty bummed they failed to deliver on taste. Mostly everything was bland. Both Wonton Soup and Fish Maw Soup with Seafood was bland, and there did not appear to be any seafood in the latter. The Szechuan Pork & Shrimp Dumplings were bland and were not in authentic traditional chili oil but rather super salty soy sauce that was slightly spicy. The Xiao Long Bao was also bland and shriveled, barely any soup inside. The Stir Fried Sliced Nagaimo Yam & Asparagus Pork was most disappointing, especially for $16 - barely any asparagus and no pork but Chinese sausage instead. So disappointed in how everything tasted! Service was ok though, seating and tables were clean and comfortable and glad they were open late, so I'll still give it 2 stars instead of 1. I don't usually write bad reviews, but I was very disappointed by the food at our visit. I just want to preface by saying that my review of the restaurant has nothing to do with my experience at the casino. Starting with the positive, the ambiance was nice and i enjoyed the restaurant setting. We also had good service which is always a plus. For the food, the only things I enjoyed were the pot stickers and spring rolls. I tried every plate that you see pictured here and I disliked everything else. There was absolutely no taste, the rice was not edible for me as it didn't even taste like rice, and the duck ramen soup had a gross taste. My shrimp pad Thai was the worst pad Thai that I have ever tasted and I've had a large variety of pad Thais. Meanwhile the food is good, I wouldn't just come eat here since certain items on the menu are waaay overpriced. The times that I have been here, customer service was always great. Youyu serves your standard Chinese dishes and also offers a dim sum menu. TBH nothing really stood out. They are equipped to handle a larger sized group if needed though, so that's nice but you might have to expect a wait, depending on how busy they are. I did like that they had sriracha, hoisin sauce and chili oil on each table for easy addition to your soups and food. Peking Duck - 7/10 You can opt for half or whole duck. We did half and that was perfect for us to share. You get 4 (?) pillowy buns to eat this with, however they did not offer any green onion or cucumber which is standard. They also did not offer any plum sauce so not sure if this is just how it is, or if they forgot things. We didn't bother to ask. Otherwise, the duck itself is actually well flavored and juicy, with nice crispy skin. Would have been 8/10 had it been served with the veggies and plum sauce Beef Chow Fun - 8/10 This might have been my fav dish of the night. I love me some chow fun, and this one had that nice smokey pan flavor that is crucial for Chinese dishes. The beef in this was tender too and the noodles perfectly tossed without being broken. Added some chili oil to this, perfection! Honey Walnut Shrimp - 7/10 Flavor of the mayo dressing was nice and creamy, not overly sweet, but the shrimp was tough!! Each shrimp was big though, but they definitely overcooked this and skimped on the walnuts. Small serving size for this too. Mongolian Beef - 7/10 A little salty but overall not too bad. Beef was super tender and plentiful, but so were the onions and peppers. To be expected though, usually this dish is hit or miss because the beef can often be skimped. Just needed some sriracha and this was actually pretty good over steamed rice General Tao Chicken - 3/10 This just wasn't good at all. I think I was expecting general tso? Either way, chicken was not tender, very dry and dense. Not overly fried but sauce was just sweet and nothing really else. Served with a couple pieces of broccoli garnish. Szechuan Green Beans - 10/10 soft yet still had a good bite. Garlicky and peppery, but not too spicy Would I come out of my way to eat here again? Since my last visit a year ago here is an update. The server was polite, enthusiastic, and welcoming. The last time I was here the food was horrible, I did again order the pork hot and sour soup. This time is was a soup and not a stew. It had all the usual flavors as regular hot and sour with a slight pleasant unknown added flavor. As for my other dishes I had the shrimp and scallop dumplings which were every good and shared my husband's sweet and sour chicken dish which was not at all traditional and very delish! They were perfectly crispy and had a nice flavor. Mongolian beef came with an abundant amount of meat, onions and bell peppers. Aired on the side of caution and ordered it mild. After trying it I wished I got it a little spicier but the flavor was on point. Just the right amount of sauce, not overwhelming and it came with a good portion of rice as well. The vegetarian chow mein had a nice selection of various vegetables - cabbage, broccoli, mushroom and red and geeen bell pepper. The noodles were a bit greasy for my taste, but the flavor was good.
