I'm miserable in this pregnancy, and desperately needed egg drop soup last minute! It's our first time going here since we moved here, and I will say the soup absolutely hit the spot!! It was perfect! So super grateful we ordered here! I mostly just wish they had some combination options plates, I just wanted a small amount of sweet n sour chicken or a plate with multiple options. Just to get a little more variety with my meal if that makes sense. Even some rice would have been nice. It was $15 just for the one chicken option and $15 for the soup. So $30 for just myself. It was really good portion sizes of food which I appreciate! But I just personally didn't need that much of the same food. And the sweet and sour wasn't quite what I hoped, but overall it was still pretty good so I'm glad I gave this place a try :) I hope this doesn't come off as rude at all, that's not my intent! It was warm and inviting with pretty plants at entrance. This place was incredible. I tried to find an autentic pho restaurant where it tasted like home and the reviews are definitely true. You can eat and drink the soup without adding anything. The flavor is what I imagined someone's grandma to do. The star anis flavor wasn't overpowering. The honey walnut shrimps were battered to perfection. Condensed milk and honey or mayo and honey is truly godsend. I can't tell which way it was made but it was delicious. The vegetable chow mein added the best starch to our dinner. Haha. We Chowed down. Okay?! lol I'll be driving an hr to come back because everything was so good. The service was amazing too. The service was great, but unfortunately the food was not. The honey walnut shrimp was brittle and was hard to cut through. The shrimp smelled old and it was too sweet. The orange chicken was also too sweet. The beef in the broccoli beef was grey and didn't taste fresh. The experience left us wondering how the restaurant ever got a 4.5 star rating. That was a misleading and completely inaccurate rating for this place unless those that have eaten here have never had any other Chinese food anywhere else. read more

Salt and pepper wings with side of steamed rice. I put chili oil and hoisin sauce on my rice so that explains the color. The wing were huge, super deep fried, and super greasy. Stopped on my way to Yuba because reviews seemed good but most likely will not try again. I'm not one to walk away from food but I couldn't do it. 3 was more than I could handle. Salt and Pepper Chicken wings - made fresh to order, hand dipped not frozen. They came our super hot, crispy, and juicy with the right amount of salt and pepper. I could eat 20 of them. I also got the hot and sour soup, which is the best in Yuba and Sutter County. Finally, someone makes it hot, spicy, and sour - for some reason, many places are making it sweet, and that is so gross. The soups are also made fresh daily. The owner is super nice and helpful. My husband had the pho, which was fine (not always my favorite). I thought my hot and sour was way better. The place was clean, a lit of seating and plenty of parking. I can't wait for my next drive thru as I want to try their Chinese menu like orange chicken and chow fun. read more

We were staying at Hard Rock Hotel and we wanted something other than what the hotel offered and we didn't want to drive too far as it was close to 8pm. To my surprise, Wheatland actually has a pho spot! The restaurant had a good amount of patrons. My hubby ordered a bowl of pho and I had a bowl of wonton soup. Both were pretty decent. Service was pretty friendly and our food came out quickly. If you're in the area and craving some pho, stop by here for your pho fix. read more

Holy cow!!! Who would have thought you could get traditional Pho in Wheatland, California?! We loved everything about this spot!!! The service was amazing, with what seemed to be an older married couple running the show. They were both so sweet. Ok now to my favorite part, the food of course. The Pho broth was so flavorful that I think for the first time ever I didn't alter it at all with other sauces. The veggies to add to the soup were all fresh and crisp. Kinda weird for me to comment on ambiance but this place is quite welcoming and clean. Lots of booths and big tables for big parties. They also gave the kids bananas which they happened to be craving so it was quite fortunate! Extra star just for that lol HOWEVER, this is primarily a Chinese restaurant that happens to sell pho. The menu is totally different so just know that. I was definitely disappointed they didn't have more vietnamese food options considering the name. I sure there's reasons for not changing the name but still... Their fried chicken is delish! They do fried stuff really well. We love this place! Their wings are a hit with my child and I love the boba tea! This was exactly the place that Wheatland needed! They have now added chinese food! Amazing!! The portions are large and good quality. We had the sweet and sour and general chicken, both were saucy but not soggy. Total was $97.xx The Good: Almost everything was perfect, the sweet and sour was exactly what you would want it to taste like and had the perfect red sauce. Rice was exceptional and the foil wrapped chicken was addictive. The opportunities: the Sesame chicken had a very sweet flavor and it just didn't hit the same as everything else. If I were to adjust it, I'd make the skin less chewy and crunchier, the sauce needed to be richer and was missing that sesame flavor. But the overall reason for 4/5 stars was that I ordered 4 mains and 2 sides and was nearly $100. While almost everything was great the cost was higher than other options. read more

Who are very friendly and provide excellent service selling Pho and Chinese food. The menu is simple. Not a true Vietnamese restaurant... no ban mi sandwich or spring rolls. They serve PHO with choice of 4 meat toppings for $11.95 or PHO with all of the toppings for $13.50. The restaurant also serve Chinese food with average prices from $12-$15. A few locals at the restaurant rave about the food and say it's so good that they come 2-3 times week. I tried the Pho and was not disappointed. Typical big bowl of soup with meat and noodles fresh basil jalapeños bean sprout topping and sriracha sauce. It was perfect before driving back to Lincoln. read more

I will say the broth could be more flavorful and more beef, etc. would be better. You could always drive close to an hour to south Sac! I rather not and just take it for what it is. The Peking pork is DELICIOUS, the honey walnut shrimp is huge and soo good (realllly really good!), their chow mein is tasty and flavorful and not greasy, and their shrimp and veggies dish is super good!!! The meh: the pho is super mediocre. Don't recommend at all. The broth is flat, they don't provide bean sprouts, jalapeños, or a lot of the other side/toppings the other place in Yuba City does for the same price. Chicken was dry and they only provided sauce packets. Even though we were super disappointed in the pho we have a pho spot we like, so that's ok - their Chinese food is SOO good, we'll just order that and be super happy! The food was great! Been looking for a good Chinese food place around here and finally found one. May be a bit hard to see from Highway 65 but it's there with Dollar General. The server (the owner) was extremely attentive and friendly. She came back and made sure we had everything we needed and were loving the food. We even ordered extra to take home for Sunday lunch. One night I was really sick and my husband went when they had already closed. The owner opened up everything and made Pho for me with all the fixin's so that I would get better quickly. After a horrible waste of our day -- my boyfriend and I thought it would be a good idea to try to outsmart a blizzard and after 4 hours of driving, we had to turn right back around (((((((((((((((: -- I was craving noodles. They were playing Hercules which is probably my favorite Disney movie ever. My boyfriend finally arrived with our now-cleaned son so I had to give him the breakdown of what they were missing. We both settled for the beef pho (you pick a size and up to 4 toppings), and we would share this with our son, who was sockless in the booth (and later had noodles sticking to his feet). The pho was fresh and comforting, since our day was so sh**y (10 hours in a car will do that to you). No complaints there. Exactly what I wanted. the owner even gave us a taste of their fried rice... What made everything so much better was the owner's hospitality. There were customers coming in and out the door but he came to our table frequently to make sure we were enjoying the food and just to chat. We learned that although this place seemed like it was in the middle of nowhere, the pho recipe was from San Jose and the owner grew up in SF. He even said my boyfriend looked familiar LOL! This place is in the middle of work and home for me, so it was a stop for dinner one afternoon on the way home from work. The owner was immediately friendly and helpful and jovially remarked that I would wait about 20 minutes for my pick-up order as he doesn't pre-roll or pre-prepare his food. It is all made fresh, so fresh takes a little more time. I'm okay with that! I ordered the fresh shrimp and BBQ pork spring rolls and the J special chicken wings. Both were great. The spring rolls were in fact fresh and included some great flavors that you don't always see in Vietnamese spring rolls. They included the shrimp and BBQ pork as well as mug bean sprouts, lettuce, cilantro, and a little mint. I love when places put the extra little herbs because that little burst of flavors makes a big difference. There wasn't a peanut sauce, but rather a hoisin mixture with something else that I can't put my finger on. All you need to know is that it was tasty and went great with the spring rolls. The chicken wings were also great. They were crispy and full of flavor with a fishsauce sauce coating the crispy wings. The six wings also come with stir fried jalapeno, bell pepper, and onion which give the winger a aromatic and extra kick of flavor. While I only got a few appetizers to start, I look forward to returning and trying their pho and vermicelli bowls as the two things I did try had great flavor and were fresh. Review based on take out order of pho. Ordered take out chicken and combo pho, which were packaged nicely and had plenty of condiments provided. The noodles were oily which was a first for me but I guess they do this so that they don't stick to each other easily. The noodles were also a bit hard which required us to cook them in the microwave for some time. The broth was okay, it was on the oily side. It just did not seem like the clean broth most pho places provide. Overall, I was expecting better for the amount that we payed for the pho. read more

However the rest of the workers did not even acknowledge us at all, when we walked in, and left saying thank you (both different persons...older guy and a mid-aged woman). Even if they did not speak English, they would understand hello and thank you. It is pretty rude when customers are the ones saying those things and they just ignore you, sitting down and doing nothing. Portion is big, and the price is affordable. The egg rolls were good, but I was not a fan of their spring rolls because the peanut sauce was not the usual one I am used to. The Vietnamese BBQ pork and ham were just okay.
