Visited July 15th in Gridley. I dropped my friend back off at her house and she treated me to Chinese food! It's just a couple doors down from Safeway. We shared the orange chicken and pot stickers ( ended up being to go). I only had a couple bites of the chicken and it was good. Pot stickers were manageable while driving! Lol Dine in or take out. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by the staff, and also immediately noticed how clean the restaurant was. I placed my order then sat down, I wasn't feeling well so I asked for a hot tea to go. They're unable to do tea to go, so I sat down and enjoyed a few cups while the food was cooking. Was quoted 10 minutes for food to be done, and it was done very timely. Got the food home, and very very impressed. Got a wor wonton soup, and pot stickers (chicken for those curious) and loved them both!! My coworker ordered their personal dinner with orange chicken, chow mein, an egg roll, and the soup of the day (hot & sour). He was also very impressed with the taste of it all. We just ordered takeout from ABC in Gridley CA. the pork chow Mein no cabbage celery just thick heavy noodles drowned in Soy Sauce no flavor. Orange chicken over cooked no flavor .Pork rice no pork and tasted and smelled old. San Francisco chef they must have kicked him out of the City. I feel sorry for a small community getting taken advantage of. read more

Great flavor, tender veggies, tasty sauces, and meat and rice perfectly cooked. We tried the Phoenix Dragon for the first time and it is a new favorite. Great job! Love the war wonton soup. Heaven in a bowl. Lots of veggies plus chicken, shrimp and pork. Wonderful fall food.

Food was excellent! I highly recommend the War Won Ton soup, as it was piping hot and had every flavor I was wanting! The eggrolls and dumplings were wonderful and a nice addition to the soup. Service is great and friendly and the decor and dining room very clean . Our server worked at Moongate in Paradise before the fire so we had good conversations about that great establishment. Stopped in to get bbq pork chow mein. I thought it's a bit pricey at 12.99, but why not. Big mistake. There was barely any BBQ pork, the pieces were miniscule, and not even enough fill a thimble. If I wanted 13.00 worth of noodles, I would have ordered plain noodles. Never again. read more

Well apparently they do not do lunch portions anymore. That sucks. It's so pricey to order separately.

I was going to give a five because this was my favorite Chinese food. But I called one early afternoon to make my order and what?? No more lunch specials? Not even for take out? You already shut the restaurant down for dine in. Now you're taking MY meal away. It is so personally pleasant to order the lunch specials, not only because of the price but because they are made specifically for the person eating it. If my family orders the way we have to order now it's very expensive AND very WASTEFUL because we eat different foods, not everyone enjoy the same thing. I'm sorry there is no more lunch special. They do wild game cooking so brought in 9 wild ducks that I got last season and large bags of rock cod and crappie I had in the freezer 2 days before your dinner. We had so many dishes! My wife is Chinese and likes spicy so we got most of the dishes spicy but plenty of sweet and sour dishes for the kids! It was the most amazing wild game dinner that I have had! The duck dishes were fantastic! The fish was also fantastic! To be honest I can really eat spicy food and it was not that spicy. They tried to cook Sichuan style but it was really not authentic. I don't think they are from a spicy region in China. But the food they cooked was really good! We had 12 dishes about 6 dishes of duck and 6 dishes of fish and 2 vegetable dishes. Amazing! read more

Had the orange chicken and Mongolian beef tonight. It was meh. Nothing spectacular. The orange chicken was really dry and not saucy as I was hoping. It did not have orange taste to it, not even a smidge of orange. Maybe they gave me general chicken by mistake. I've had better Mongolian beef at other Chinese restaurants. Had an off taste to it. Went for take out at ABC Chinese in Gridley tonight. Best Chinese dinner we've had. The food was great, really fresh, and they give large portions way too much. We had Hot&Spicy soup to start that was just OK, next time we'll try the wonton soup. Vegetable Fried Rice, Combination Mixed Veggies, Lemon Chicken, and House Chow Fun. I got so full I couldn't even try the chow fun we will have lots of leftovers tomorrow. Highly recommend this place if you want great fresh Chinese food.
