Portion for value is unmatched. The chicken teriyaki bowl is my go to "I don't want to cook" meal. They have a small dining room but I always get takeaway. So tasty!!! read more

This restaurant used to be good food for the price. Price has gone up just as every thing in these times but quality has tanked even quicker. read more

A classic Chico institution. Glad to see they're still offering the same recipes as before.

Was so yummy. And the sauce didn't soak in to the rice like east ave location said. Go here for the yum. Avoid east ave for the bum!

So GOOD!!! I had the chicken curry, a side if vegetables, and egg rolls and my god it's delicious! Big portions!! Service is super quick and they are polite. Restaurant has a few tables but really caters to to-go orders. Place is very clean!! Go! Delicious food, big portions, great prices, and clean!!! read more

The teriyaki house is a good place to eat. We just ate it too much so I got burnt out. The chicken bowls are delicious. My son and husband get the beef bowls. These are a hit in my house. The staff is courteous. The place could be alittle bit cleaner. read more

Terrible I ask for lite rice they charge me for extra veggies without asking- and to top it off they don't give extra veggies- so I ordered a chicken bowl with sauce on the side - and I don't have any veggies - called and said bring it back to exchange it- hello I'm at work already!! read more

Teriyaki House - This is a chicken bowl where are the veggies?? As you can see ? - Japanese Near Me - Chico, California

Order was correct but chicken was dry and sweet sour pork was hard and difficult to chew.

I ordered the chicken and sweet and sour pork combo to go. The pork consisted of small dried-out pieces of pork (?) in a thick, tough coating. I was unable to eat it. The chicken (which I just guessed was chicken through process of elimination) was dry and tasteless. The vegetables consisted of two thinly sliced carrot pieces, two small pieces of broccoli, and some chopped cabbage. I give the experience one star for the sauce. I won't be going to Teriyaki House again. read more

First of all, I need to say that I think it's a bad decision they made to be closed on the weekends. I got food to go from their Oroville location. I got the teriyaki chicken with sweet & sour pork. The teriyaki chicken was good, but the s&s pork was strange. The meat inside didn't look or taste like pork? I wasn't sure what I was eating. However, the s&s sauce was very good. The service was very good and the restaurant looked very clean. read more

Food was tasty, and served out fast. Great service as well! You cannot go wrong with a healthy teriyaki chicken bowl Definitely will stop by here again soon! read more

This place used to be so good. They really started cutting back on quality and raised the price for kind of crappy food. Definitely do not recommend. read more

Amazing food, great customer service and GREAT prices! They make it fast and it's good every single time!

Food is good, you get a good portion for the price, the staff is friendly and efficient. It's more of a pick up and eat elsewhere place. There are tables, but it's noisy and plain. My only complaint was after I paid o asked for an extra teriyaki sauce(they give you a small cup), I was told that would be .27 cents. I had CC only, so good was a bit dry. But still tasty! The chicken was great! read more

Visited this place as I was on a time crunch and needed to get something fast. I stopped by the you g lady who helped me was super cheerful and attentive. As for the food, it was just some really fast #1 combo with beef and chicken. Reason for my 3 stars is the teriyaki was very simple and almost like syrup not the darker thicker teriyaki I'm used to with a little more robust flavor. The chicken and beef were grilled almost over cooked as the meat was Chicken were very dry. So much so, that I asked for additional teriyaki sauce which they charged me .27 cents for which I don't mind paying but being in business know that it would have probably being cheaper to not charge me since I'm sure the credit card swipe probably cost them more than the .27 they charged me. Nonetheless, if you are looking for something fast and don't care too much about flavor and want something edible this will suffice. But if you are looking for something more flavorful or better quality, probably want to look elsewhere. Just my thoughts. As for the ambiance is just a small town, small restaurant more so for pick up than eating in. read more

The food was good. The service not so much. If you order one of their refrigerated sodas, you have to pay for the cup of ice. You're already being overcharged for the bottle of soda. read more

Walked in 20 mins before closing but I wasn't the last, as a few more trickled in after me. They told me all they had available was Curry Chicken, Beef & one other option. I ordered a Curry Chicken & a Beef Bowl. She asked if i wanted medium or hot. I chose medium and I would say I'm glad I went with that. Overall, I thought the Curry was a bit on the hot side. The food came out quickly and I thought the price point was more than fair. The Curry Chicken portions were generous and I would totally come back and try something new. Thank you guys for taking care of me right before closing. I appreciate it! read more

We got a lot of rice, a bit of vegetables and burnt chicken. The woman at the counter seemed overworked and unhappy.

Impressive... small menu , however food was great and prices were great and service was even better ! They need to raise tge prices so yummy

The only good things about this place are decor and speed. I ordered the sweet & sour pork and teriyaki chicken combo. The pork was gross and the teriyaki chicken was so-so. The imperial rolls are just super fried, overly greasy, veggie spring rolls. Honestly, Panda Express is better. This joint is Japanese fast food. They don't have any sushi, thank god. Maybe if you just want a teriyaki bowl this is the place for you. Don't get anything else. read more

Love this place. Staff is very friendly and always on point. I pretty much eat here every day, lol.

Very good simple food! Not a huge menu very simple goes to show you don't need a lot of money to get a good meal

The chicken bowl is just delicious! Tender well-seasoned chicken and plenty of it. Includes a generous portion of rice and some vegetables. Everything was well cooked. VERY filling and you can't beat the price at $6. Would eat this daily if I lived here. Just visiting! But you locals have a great place to have a hearty lunch! read more

I had the chicken curry. It comes with rice, potatoes, and carrots. Flavor was amazing. Chicken was cooked perfect.

Do NOT have noodles! And the lady taking our order was wearing an air pod. Enough said

I really have no idea how this place has the rating it does. It was so bad I don't know how or where to begin. I ordered the Chicken Bowl, two Chicken Skewers and an Imperial Roll. NONE of the food is fresh. There is NO WAY the food is prepared fresh. Bland Bland Bland The two chicken skewers, I was told they are grilled and asked if one cooked be grilled a little longer or "extra" grilled. Although she said no problem, there was no difference between the two skewers. Worse yet, both skewers were COLD and looked like they had been sitting there for a while. The meat was the lowest of quality, fatty and multiple pieces had cartilage. After one bite from either it was clearly inedible. Chicken Bowl, stale, cold, garbage meat and garbage vegetables. I say vegetables but it was a mass of mushy cabbage with two (only two) small carrot slices and two very small mushy pieces of broccoli. Imperial Roll, wow. It was an oil sponge. NOT EVEN CLOSE to being crispy. Mushy. Oily. Disgusting. Don't waste your time. Nothing redeemable. read more

This teriyaki house is the best. They have a simple menu but the food is quite yummy. I don't think this restaurant has been open for that long but I was a regular at the one across town and I was so excited to see they had opened one on my side of town. The prices are so affordable and everything is cooked to order so you get steamy, hot food! They open at 11 and never really seem to be busy. I recommend the chicken bowl, it's a huge portion of chicken, rice, and veggies (extra veggies for me) all for about 6 bucks with taxes. They do have other, larger portions that include skewered chicken or sweet and sour pork. The staff is friendly and inviting, so don't pass this place up! read more

This place is the best! The food is hot and you get a ton for the price. it is fresh and very good quality. We had the #2 combo the first time we went and the chicken bowl the second time we went and both times we got a ton of food for the money. The place is clean and the staff is very nice. Either eat in or take out, it's totally worth the money! Anytime we are in Chico, this is where we will go to eat. For the same price as fast food drive through, you get a good quality meal. Excellent!!!!! read more

Execelent food a fast food price. I'm a big guy with a healthy appetite and the bowls are plenty big enough to fill you up. Got the #2 combo today to go and it was nice and hot when I went to eat with the sauce on the side so nothing was soggy. It's my new favorite place. read more

Teriyaki House - Front of house - Japanese Near Me - Chico, California

I stopped by at 4:00 PM after work and when I walked in there was three girls at the counter that came off very rude and not friendly. It was my first time here so I wasn't really quite sure what to expect when coming in but when I walked in, they all three stood there and didn't even greet me or anything, I asked if I could get vegetables added onto my bowl and one of the girls responded "umm yeah if u want" then they all three continued to look me up and down as I payed for my food making me feel super uncomfortable. just very horrible communication skills, horrible costumer service skills, etc. they made my first experience terrible and I will not be returning. They made the business look bad also. Be careful who you put at the register! Not everyone's made for it. read more

Yum! First time here and the food and service were excellent!!! We had the beef bowl and the chicken curry. There was a lot of food and prices are really low! All the bowls are in the $5.00 range and the three combos are all $6.95. Can't wait to go back! read more

Teriyaki House - Japanese Near Me - Chico, California

Actually. This is a 2.5 restaurant. Pros: Quick Service Nice The food didn't make me sick Cons: The meat is prepared very early aka NOT FRESH and it was not marinated. This is not a very good restaurant. Their sauce is not made on site. Food is a bit overpriced for the actual offerings. There is very little resemblance to a teriyaki bowl restaurant here. I was expecting Asian perfection after reading these reviews, but it was not as good as Microwave Asian. I should have eaten anywhere else.... Really. Not memorable, never to return.... read more

Just ate here for the second time and I won't be going back. I got the chicken teriyaki bowl. The chicken was burnt and there was not enough teriyaki sauce on the bowl. I had a sick feeling in my stomach after eating it and you can tell the ingredients weren't fresh. This place succeeded in serving me the worst teriyaki bowl I have ever had. Pretty disappointed being their name is Teriyaki House! read more

Teriyaki House - Chicken curry and sweet and sour pork. - Japanese Near Me - Chico, California

Popular place to get good affordable food to-go. Great prices really. Some tables to eat in at, but still an order-at-the-counter place. Fill your own soft drinks on tap. Plates are cute, silverware is plastic. No waitresses. Food. Its all about the food. We ordered Curry Chicken, medium heat, it definitely had some heat! Great flavor, lots of sauce, some veggies, potatoes and carrots, comes over white rice. The Sweet and Sour Pork, breaded and deep fried crisp, came with lite sauce, over white rice. Finally the combo #2, teriyaki chicken Amazing flavor, sweet and sour pork (again sauce was less than most), a spring roll was good, white rice and a little cabbage/carrot/broccoli mixed in. Four of us went. Plenty of food in those three orders. We all enjoyed our meals and for this price, we will definitely be back. Lots of people popped in for their to-go orders, so expect a little longer of a wait than just the customers you see on arrival. Worth it. read more
