I ordered the bigger plate, which total to around $13. However I signed up through the app and got a first timer discount. At that location, they were also offering a free sample of a drink which was decent. The serving size for the entree is misleading in the picture, and it's a little smaller than what it shows. The food itself, particularly the orange chicken was good, while the chow mein was a little dry, and you can tell they were using cheaper noodles. The Panda Express in Medford, MA was one of the most disappointing fast-food experiences I've had. The restaurant felt run-down and unclean from the moment I walked in. Even the strange sliding-door closet near the dining area looked completely out of place and added to the overall neglected atmosphere; that closet reminded me of a closet in a morgue, with body parts stored in formaldehyde, behind the doors (? chicken for chicken teriyaki at the Panda Express in Medford, MA). To make matters worse, the Panda Express app showed that Mushroom Chicken and Grilled Teriyaki Chicken were unavailable. When I arrived, there was no Mushroom Chicken, but there was Teriyaki Chicken that looked dry, overcooked, and far from appetizing. Overall, this location gave the impression of poor maintenance, inconsistent quality, and poor management. The dining area, the presentation of the food, and the overall condition of the restaurant left me with no desire to return. I've visited other Panda Express locations--such as the Panda Express in Nashua, New Hampshire--and the difference is remarkable. That (Nashua, NH) location of Panda Express is clean, well managed, well-maintained, has a very kind, efficient staff, and the food is fresh and appealing. The Medford location, by contrast, felt neglected, and the food looked like it was not something that you'd want to eat. Based on this experience, I won't be returning to the Panda Express in Medford. I hope management takes a serious look at this location and brings it up to the standards the brand is capable of delivering. read more

The inside felt like your average fast casual spot - not overly clean, but just enough if you felt like sitting down to eat. Service was quick, however they did package our food incorrectly at first by giving us the wrong side - they ended up dumping it back into the serving section despite already putting it in a container for us before getting our correct dish so that didn't feel super sanitary, but for us, we have no allergies so it wasn't a huge concern. We love this location for its parking lot (unlike the downtown locations), speedy service, and always hot and ready food. Wow, I'm surprised about this chain restaurant. It's basically an assembly line for fast food, Asian cuisine. So you pick a starch, I went with the lo mein, the rice was white and had some veggies in it and looked pretty good, but I did stick with the lo mein which turned out to be a nice choice. I ordered some kind of peppered beef with vegetables, a chicken dish, which I can't identify, but it tasted great and I also went with fire shrimp, which was extremely spicy and tasted great. I will go back and get a large order of the shrimp again. For drinks they have a soda bar set up. Were you just help yourself? I believe they just give you a cup. The staff that was serving the food behind the glass, once again, cafeteria style. You just had to point to things and they would put a big heaping scoop into your to go container. This is served like a luncheon special where they put down your starch, and they put the other entrées on top of it. I also opted for some spring rolls which were squished in on the very top of the entrées, kind of comical, but decent. There was actually a line inside the place. I couldn't believe how many people were in line ordering before and after me. They do a great business. However, the parking lot is kind of tight but behind the building is a strip mall so there's always plenty of parking. I do not have any information on if they deliver or not but I'm sure Uber eats etc. picks up there. The facility look pretty clean for a fast food joint. FYI if you want chopsticks you have to request them otherwise you will receive plastic cutlery, The quantity of food that filled my container on a scale of 1 to 10 is about 8, it was a large portion however, I did order three entrées so they do charge you extra per entrée. This is a suitable place to grab some takeout grab some dinner on the way home or maybe stop in with the kids for lunch however, you definitely don't want to bring a date there as it is definitely fast food, Asian, which would be equivalent to Burger King or McDonald's. It looks clean and bright inside, the tables are like fast food MacDonald's and during lunch rush, they don't get cleaned much like the rest of the fast food chains. As my sides I chose the vegetables and egg roll. The egg roll is their own creation, not the standard size and filling you get at most Chinese food restaurants. The egg roll was thinner, with not much filling, it is chicken filled, flavorless. The texture was soft not crisp/crunchy on outside as it sits on a steam table with the rest of the food. My partner liked his chicken and mushroom dish, it was good. Panda did the job as we were both very hungry, however it isn't a Chinese restaurant and I will skip Panda and save for a visit to Shoyu or Su-Chang's, out of the way, but worth it it you want good Chinese American food. read more

I give this Panda Express a 5 stars because it's the most consistent. The same staff has been working there for years. They are always efficient. Even if there's a line i know waiting won't take long because they move thru it. This location is always clean and plenty of indoor and outdoor tables with umbrellas. They are always refilling the options so they are fresh and hot. We got takeout from here this weekend during the heat wave, after wanting to have it for weeks now. Boston doesn't have a lot of options if you have a craving for Panda Express, but the Medford location isn't too far. I got chow mein with orange chicken and sweetfire chicken breast. The chow mein was probably my least favorite part - it had way too much cabbage compared to normal, so the taste seemed a little off. The sweetfire chicken breast was good, but definitely had a little too much pineapple. The orange chicken was good as always. My boyfriend got the black pepper chicken and the beijing beef. He said they were ok but would get orange chicken in the future (you really can't go wrong with that). At about $9 for a plate with two entrees I wish they weren't as stingy with the meat/noodles, but it definitely satisfied my craving. read more

Panda Express has been on my bucket list for at least 20 years. I have seen it reviewed on YouTube channels such as Fast Food Pit Stops, Joey's World Tour, Happy Man Snacks, and Peep This Out. It has always scored well among these fast-food connoisseurs. As we know, The Panda is a cafeteria-style set-up with food being made in bulk and doled out in warmer trays for a military commissary-like presentation. Works well if the food is newly made but much has been there for quite some time and tends to become meh. This is a drawback but I would say get stuff when it's fresh and it's real good. I strongly suggest first casing the joint and observing what's being made fresh and what looks old and janky. Then swoop down for the kill once you have fully assessed the sitch. The Panda is really the same quality or better than most American-style Chinese restaurants. And I do say the flavors are well engineered by junk-food-junkie food engineers who know how to make it yumski with enough sugar and spice and everything nice to satisfy junk-food junkies. The price is right with the Big Combo being $9.95 for three entrées and a side. We each got the Medium Combo which is two entrees and a side for $7.99 and it was plenty big. It's pretty phat portions for the price and I like that a lot. I also like how they have "Limited Edition" items such as the Honey Sesame Chicken and Honey Walnut Shrimp, etc., so return customers won't suffer from Chinese-food monotony. I do recommend The Panda. Just to recap, some food stuffs may be buffet-like in terms of being old stuff that may have been there for a while. The app never works for me, so I have to use the web browser. I think the food is pretty good and a good value. I did have an annoying visit on Monday. I ordered 3 plates - two of them had the same items. When I went to pick them up, the woman who brought me my order could not understand how I had 3 plates. She kept telling me that I had two. I was attempting to pull up the order on my phone, but she finally took out my receipt and said again that I had two. I showed her the (2) by the first plate to mean that I did have 3 plates total. Ohhhhhhh. I don't understand why someone wasn't like "Oh, her order total is $26 something, that must mean three plates!" I had to wait another 10 minutes, which meant that the other two plates were cold by the time I got home with the food. But my go to is their fried rice, mixed veggies, walnut shrimp, and of course the grilled teriyaki chicken! Okay but the honey walnut shrimp is something I need to speak more about. I love the flavor and how glazy the shrimp is. Some fast food chained restaurants make walnut shrimp way too sweet but Panda Express hits the spot. Not to mention the batter around the shrimp isn't too much so you get a good crisp with the best sweet glazy flavor all in one! Their grilled teriyaki chicken will be their holy grail.
