* Let me start off with saying that I love the food at Pandas, but this review is about the service received at this store. I tried the online ordering for the first time and ordered 4 plates. My family was craving the chow fun so all plates had ordered it. I placed the order at 7:15pm and was told it would be ready for pick up at 7:54 pm. When I went to pick it up a lady in a black shirt (manager?) told me they ran out of chow fun! THEY DON'T CLOSE TILL 9PM, WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE MORE!!!! Ok, rant over. I then asked why they didn't call me (my phone # was on the order), I would have gone to another Pandas (got 2 more near by). She said they only got the order 5 minutes earlier, but the receipt said they got it at 7:24pm. All she could say was sorry. I explained that if I had known, I would have gone to another location. She didn't even offer a discount for not getting what we wanted. Then we discover that our order was wrong when we get home. And then, on top of all that, my fortune cookie had no fortune in it! Uuuggghhh. But seriously, I thought internet ordering would be great, but I guess they don't much care for customer service if you're not watching them fill the order. read more

My favorite location; it's usually my de-stressing ritual after another one of my countless ("I spent HOW much??!!/we were in here for HOW long??!!") trips to home depot directly across from it. Probably one of the largest (if not the largest) of the panda locations. This location has a restroom. Oh...and kudos to panda for now using brown rice in the fried rice, forcing us to be *slightly* healthier. read more

Does anyone not love panda? Extremely fast, extremely cheap Chinese food. And free samples. They have honey walnut shrimp now! And the shrimp are actually shrimp-sized, not "shrimpy"-sized! I lucked out and had a fresh tray brought out just before I ordered, and while it wasn't as good as some restaurants, it was actually superior to other restaurants who just didn't know how to make something taste good. Other yummy options include tofu eggplant (yeah that stuff is TASTY), and duh, the orange chicken. Beijing Beef is also nice. The chow mein? well they put way too much celery in it and it rankled me of celery flavor, which isn't the best flavor if you know what I mean. Know what's enjoyable and makes you feel "healthy?" that you can get steamed vegetables at Panda instead of rice/fried rice/chow mein/chow fun as your "starch". Then I don't feel guilty for getting non-vegetabally main dishes! so they keep raising the prices...2 choice plate is $9. ok. read more

I just ordered a kids meal from Panda Express (half chow mein, half chow fun, with orange chicken) and as I ate the food and started getting closer to the end of the plate.....I found a hair sitting at the bottom of it. The food overall was great, however I was bit disturbed by the sight of that hair. It looks like a facial hair, perhaps from a mans sideburn. I'm really disgusted and displeased with what I seen. Panda Express has always been my favorite place to eat, but seeing that hair in my plate was the last for me. They received two stars because of that hair. I may not be going to this Panda Express ever again. read more

Panda Express - :/ - Chinese Near Me - Kapolei, Hawaii

Visiting Hawai'i for a week and was craving some food that I know and love. Panda Express is usually one of my favorite places to eat and I order orange chicken with fried rice. At this Panda, I ordered the same exact thing, orange chicken with fried rice. When I got my food, it initially looked delicious. Then I smelled it and started eating it. The rice tasted like straight tobacco and I couldn't even finish it. It was utterly repulsive. The chicken was ok and I was able to finish it but it still had a little but of a tobacco taste to it. I wouldn't eat there again if I knew the food quality was this bad. read more

The food is great. The workers are very nice. The drink area is a little dirty, along with the tables. The trash is always full. The tables smell of old dirty rotten water/milk, which means the rag is probably cultivating a science experiment. It's probably just thrown in a bucket to be reused again. Wring it out and rinse. The bathroom is well managed with a security code. I never used it though, so I don't know it's upkeep. read more

As usual, our experience was good but the last visit was ok. They have recently extended their hours and the cook (I couldnt get to read his name) looked irritated when i ordered something he had to make. That shouldnt have been a problem considering the fact that there was a little over half an hour till closing. The manager was nice but the young cook was even giving her an attitude asking what time are they supposed to close. I asked for the cheese rangoons and he told her "cannot, i tarned op d pryer" I will continue to come here especially with the later hours but hope that cook isnt working. read more

I don't get why Panda Express is so popular on this island....I mean it's not bad food or anything, but it's definitely nothing special. Haven't really tried any of the other chinese in the area yet, but this can't be the best option. They were out of half the meat options and chow mein. First of all, let me say I am very biased. Since before I can remember I have loved panda! Orange chicken is just the most amazing thing, and one solid reason I could never be a vegetarian! The service is good here. They always ask if I want sweet and sour sauce when I order veggie spring rolls, which is awesome because I always forget, but always want it! I am just so forgetful! However, that being said the staff are not very personable usually. This location always has plenty of parking, and it is not as busy as the other one in Kapolei! read more

I've been to many locations. Kapolei, Pearlridge, Waipio....they always provide tons of tasty food and have excellent customer service! Pros: Fresh food. If the bowl is partially empty, they don't scrape the bottom, they wait until a fresh batch is made. Great customer service! Super friendly! Very consistent. Yummy chicken breast items - I do not like chicken thighs, and I've noticed more and more dishes feature chicken breasts. Perfect kids meal - side, one item, drink, and a cookie! As most Panda Express, timing is essential; almost a crap shoot, as food freshness is not consistent. Today, my family and I ordered between 5:30 PM and 6:00 PM. All entrees currently in warming pans looked like they were sitting there for a while, dehydrated to say the least. I ordered the two entree with white rice. The new garlic white fish tasted like stale frozen fish sticks with teriyaki sauce, hardly any garlic flavor. The chicken and green beans was okay; rather have my beans not as wilted, subjected to excessive warming. With a large soft drink, I dented my wallet of about $8.50. By the way, the soft drink had a very powerful taste of chlorine; possibly plumbing system lacking water filter. In summary, a quaint place to eat. Tons of parking near Safeway. Restaurant is fairly clean. Don't like to see servers cleaning food area with wet rag, than continue to handle serving spoons and thongs without washing hands first. Not very hospitable cashiers. Kind of pricey for the amount of food I was served. Good Tip is to spot check the entrees in the pans. If not fresh looking, eat somewhere else or come back in a half hour. read more

I usually give this restaurant 5 stars but not today. In fact, the last 2 times I have been there I have had trouble talking to staff. The last time I was here an older lady argued with me about what you get with their coupon when I have been going there for years and never had anybody tell me this. Today, I could not get across that I wanted 2 individual plates each with half noodles, half rice. I wanted one plate with orange chicken, the other plate with honey walnut shrimp. Both server gals I talked to looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language although they spoke perfect English? They charged me full price for both plates even though I got about half the size of the portions I usually get when I have been there before. I only got 6 shrimps & maybe 3 walnuts on them. The Orange chicken portion was also reduced. I was so frustrated, I paid for my food and left. The food did not taste very fresh as it usually does. The noodles were dry and the chicken and shrimp were not as tasty as previous visits. We have been coming to this Panda Express for years. Gonna be a long time before we go to this Panda Express again. 5-28-18 I must apologize to the owners of #1724, the Panda Express I was talking about in the review in Dec. 2017 was the one in Kapolei Marketplace - not this one which is across from Home Depot. Always great service here. This is my favorite Kapolei location near Home Depot area. Food is cooked fresh and portions are good. Just ordered the pandemic Family Meal Special for $25 and new black containers were full and freshly cooked. The menu is limited but we were happy to have a nice warm meal for a deal. Did the online order with pick/up. Good safety precautions, no entry allowed inside but takeout and online ordering is easy to do. read more

I like this location. They don't skimp on their portions like other locations do. I went to another location who counted the shrimp they put on my plate. The workers are friendly, quick, and they give generous portion sizes. Restaurant is clean and there's a lot of parking. They even have outdoor seating if you prefer to sit outside. read more

If I had to choose between the two Panda Express's located in Kapolei, I would choose this location because not only is it bigger, but it has its own bathroom and the choices are fresh. Ok so this panda is usually my go to when I can't decide what I want for lunch . It's usually always fresh and taste great. Big portions too! But today it was kinda off. I don't if it was because there was a manager or store owner watching them. But the portions were small...really small I swear I got 5 pieces of orange chicken lol. My fried rice had some hard pieces of rice in it. Then the lady comes out to ask how was everything . She's holding a basket with forks an napkins and stuff . Doesn't even ask us if we need any of it. I also heard another man making a complaint that there was something hard in his food too. I don't know if this was just a off day or what . Can't go wrong with Panda. It's a safe place to go. The quality of food has gone down, but not so bad to get less than 4. They give less than they used to, but price is still high. The service is quality and the place is clean. Occasionally I am in the mood for Chinese takeout. Granted, it is not often but it's a nice guilty pleasure from time to time. It's cheap, fast, no MSG, and they give fortune cookies! They also have a nice veggie alternative to the carb choice. My standard choices are steamed veggies, eggplant tofu, and honey walnut shrimp. Good service, quick, clean, inexpensive....it's the Chinese McDonald's but serves it's purpose MSG free. read more

I give this a 4 because it is a Panda Express. However it had great service when I was here and the portions were and are usually slightly larger than other places (which is a very good thing :) ). I always go with the orange chicken and Beijing beef! Tons of beef at this place. read more

This review is actually for a visit I made last month. First off let me just say, PANDAS has ALWAYS been my favorite place to eat for fast food eats. But that all changed after that visit. I would always eat at pandas at the least, once a month. My order consisted of MIXED VEGGIES/CHOW MEIN,ORANGE CHICKEN,HONEY SESAME CHICKEN & BEJING BEEF. I live 5 minutes away from this kapolei location, I ate my food as soon as I got home, but some reason, the string beans or whatever you would call it in the honey sesame chicken tasted like the smell of mildew/moss. I ended up throwing away my entire plate. The next day I woke up with a super sore stomach & I threw up. That right there had validate that I was not tasting wrong and that it was the food that For had something wrong with it. Of course I threw away the receipt without even thinking, I guess because I've always ate at pandas and never did experience this. I thought their veggies are FRESH CUT DAILY?! Makes me wonder if that's a false advertisement. Anyways, all in all I WILL NEVER EAT PANDAS AGAIN especially this location. read more

Whenever I'm craving some Panda Express, I come to this one. It's closest to our house in Ewa. The line is never really that long, and the food is always hot. However, I did notice that today, their honey walnut shrimp didn't taste as good as the last time I was there. It was probably sitting out for awhile this time, as the container was almost empty. This has got to be the worst meal I've had in a long time. I always order the tofu and eggplant and tonight was no different. When I walked in I checked it out and saw that the little bit they had in the bowl was probably there since this afternoon. The eggplant was mostly mashed pieces and the tofu looked shriveled and dry. I asked the girl behind the counter if they were going to make a fresh batch and she said yes and called the order in to the cooks. When they brought the fresh cooked tofu and eggplant out I was at a table waiting so didn't see them adding something to one of the plates I ordered. I drove all the way home before I opened my plate to see they gave me all the dried up tofu pieces that was sitting there for who knows how long. Not even one fresh piece!!! When I called the store to tell them about it they put the girl that made my plate on the phone. She told me that it was a fresh batch. I love tofu enough to know fresh from f'd up. If it were my store, I wouldn't serve my customers anything less than good. I'd try for a consistant great if at all possible, but since it's not a cook to order kind of eatery sometimes it would just be good. Trying to save about $3.00 (Retail) by not throwing out a little bit of stale old food isn't worth losing $20.00 on the two plates I would buy everytime I go in there. This isn't the only Panda Express that serves less than quality food. Does not even deserve one star. So upset with them!!! read more
