I also liked the edifice itself; contemporary, sleek, modern, clean, more so than other locations I've seen. I'd actually love to go back. There are MANY great food places to visit in Chicago! I've been to some that are missing this option or that option. All that is good and great but what makes this location a little more special? The Tea Bar! I've never seen a Panda Express with a tea bar before. Pretty darn cool that you can get bubble tea in there, smoothies, lemonades...a variety of fun non-alcoholic drinks. Absolutely love that idea! Hole staff is helpful, professional and accompanying. Also work great together under pressure. Our family comes here all the time and Mark is literally the highlight of the day. Amazing customer service and just beautiful genuine energy. (Plus our son is obsessed with him lol ) I'm not at all familiar with Panda's compensation scale but I really hope they take care of committed and talented people on their team. Nice new looking store. But they are way overworked for the amount of employees there. Who are very friendly but either super slow as there was a line out the door the whole time I was there. Or they are getting and filling first way too many UberEats or Grubhub orders. Or again just too few people. There was only one girl doing the walk in orders and I think she would sometimes have to fill pick up orders while doing this as well. They kept the pans filled. Constantly calling out for half filled pans so that was good. But the slow crawl of the kind was nuts. And the food. White rice and chow main noodles were super dry. Ragoons were almost burnt. So dry was the cheese and the wonton was brittle to cracking. And not in a good, crispy way. The main courses were decent. But I had to ask twice for extra walnuts on the honey shrimp. The second time I sighted for good measure that I saw that there were barely any walnuts in mine. The green beans in the Shanghai steak were shriveled up and wrinkled like old skin. Overall the employees tried but I think they were way understaffed for how busy it was with both people coming in and delivery orders. I went in to grab lunch for myself and a couple co-workers, the portions were significantly smaller than I've had at every other Panda Express and the Sweetfire Chicken was terrible, it kind of had too much orange chicken sauce on it but also had the Sweetfire sauce so it was really weird and a bit much, but one thing that totally did it for me were the amazing amazing tea options!
