My girlfriend and I decided to come by and get some dinner, both hungry. I got a bigger plate and she got a bowl. The only reason this isn't a 1 star is because the food was fresh and tastes good. The issue is in the attached photo. My girlfriend's bowl came with at most 5 pieces of chicken, if you can qualify some of those tiny pieces as a legit serving. Ordered the combo plate by delivery. Got the chow mein, fried rice, beef and broccoli and grilled teriyaki chicken along with some vegetable spring rolls. Despite the wait, food arrived still warm and wasn't shuffled. The spring rolls were just okay, they were not greasy at all and had a decent crunch. The chow mein was decent and got the job done. I appreciate the simplicity of both the chicken and the beef and broccoli. Neither were too sweet and both provided room for my own addition of soy sauce and sriracha. I lucked out and got a good size portion of chicken on the plate too! I think it's pretty cool that they seem to have some healthier options you can load your plate with (looking at the super greens). First impressions for this franchise are just okay, I want to give them another try in the future and sample some other items on their menu. Pretty good value for what you get. read more

In general, I like Panda Express. While it lacks 'authenticity', it can often make up for it in consistency, freshness, and convenience. Also, looking back on 10+ years of eating at Chinese restaurants, I can count the number of bad meals I've had at PE on one hand. While more traditional Chinese places have had better food, I've also gotten about three times the number of flat-out-awful dishes there as well. So on the balance, if I want decent-to-superior fare for mainstream Chinese, a PE is a good bet. Tried the newly added General Tso's chicken along with the Kung Pao here and was suitably impressed. The food was hot, fresh, and the store was impeccably clean. I need to preface all these good words with a cautionary note: I happened to be there right as they opened, so of course the food was right out of the wok, there was almost no one in line, and they'd just done the morning cleanup. The chicken in General Tso's (deep fried) was excellent - still crisp, with some sweet and hot notes. The Kung Pao could've used some more peanuts but the veggies were nice and fresh without being cooked to oblivion in the wok. About the only 'eh' note that kept me from a 5-star review was the lateness in opening and preparation. As I said, I chanced to be there and hungry at 10:30am. They didn't open until 10:40, and once my order was taken, it was another 10-15 minutes to be served as the chow mein hadn't been cooked up yet! So, a little slow on the draw for 'fast' food, but great nonetheless. This place scores a 4 out of 5 on the 'CTJ Scale', as noted below. 5 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Jesus good. Would be OK passing away after finishing a plate here. 4 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Mary good. Would be OK being seen eating here by Mother Mary. 3 out of 5 stars: Come-to-Joseph good. I have found that if you go to Panda Express during off-peak hours, you are in for a miserable experience. First, if you go through drive-thru (not at this location) you can't see the food. I can guarantee you that they sit in the pans and the bottom portion burns while the top portion gets cold. Yes they stir it, but only when the customer is walking in or watching. If you go during peak hours and can catch them putting new product on the line, then it's really not bad. This location has been great during 6-7:30. I can typically order the chicken, beef or shrimp dishes and be fairly happy. Lately I've had no complaints. It gets 3 stars because historically it has not been so dependable, but honestly I think the secret is timing. They aren't going to keep fresh, hot food in all the pans throughout the day, it's too costly. So do yourself a favor, go during peak lunch or dinner hours. Don't bother ordering online -- you'll end up waiting longer than if you order there. I placed an online order today shortly after noon. The email said my food would be ready at 12:28pm, so I arrived just after that, figured out which door to go to for pickups, and asked about my order. They hadn't started making it yet. No problem, they're clearly fairly busy, and I don't mind a few minutes delay. 10 minutes later, I ask again. They have not started making my order yet. Another 10 minutes standing in the 95 degree heat, I am again told that they have not yet started making my order. Apparently there's a backlog, which from observation seems to be all of the people that have shown up after me to place their order in person. A few minutes later, I'm told they're waiting on fresh teriyaki chicken, so it'll be another 5 minutes. Finally, at 1:02pm, I receive my order. By my count, 11 people placed and received their orders after I arrived, 5 delivery orders were picked up (two had the same driver), and they still failed to actually get my order correct. When I opened my box I couldn't even distinguish the different meats I had as it was all mixed. The noodles were very dry and old. I knew the service was going to be bad when my runner text me saying Panda Express is out of ice, do I still want my drink? I said yes because I can put ice in it. Unfortunately when I took a sip it was not only warm, but also flat!!!! As a regular Panda customer, I'm kind of disappointed that the food and drinks were this way. I typically order a 2 entree plate with a side of some sort. 40-50% of the time at least one item is wrong. They will flat argue with you if you order something that is not currently prepared like the side of sweet and sour chicken for $1.49.
