I was in town and had to pop in to grab my favorite donut of all time: the glazed twist. From the outside, Pam's Donuts looked like it would be a good donut shop, and I was right. It had all the signifiers: no-nonsense donuts, garish lighting in the shop, Asian (Cambodian?) ownership. All of this combined means you'll find some great donuts. The glazed twist was great! Fresh, fluffy and perfectly glazed. I ate it while standing outside the shop on a beautiful Southern California day. They also offer coffee, breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches and smoothies. Arrived an immediately discovered the minimal as well as unimpressive selection. The shop was not my "cup-of-tea" for dining. Decided on an apple fritter and I was on my way. Today was my first time coming to Pam's donuts and I am very pleased with the food. The breakfast eggs are made to order and I got the #3 bagel, sausage and egg sandwich and I change the mayo to cream cheese. It is extra but definitely worth it. I also ordered the Thai tea and that was amazing as well. The service was 5 stars, they named customers by name and explained with patience any questions I had. I also witness them help other customers as well with kindness. This is the best spot so far that I've visited that is a donut shop. I found out about this little donut shop through a Facebook group. The pictures looked amazing and people only had good things to say about it. So my husband and I decided to check it out. Came in close to noon and the donuts still felt fresh. So soft and fluffy. I ordered a maple bar, my favorite donut, and it was beautifully glazed to perfection. My husband ordered a huge sugar cinnamon donut twist. He said it was really good and not overly sweet. He was only able to eat half of it. Saving the rest for later! I also got a super cute Santa donut, haven't tried it yet but I'm sure it won't disappoint. We also ordered breakfast sandwiches. Spam, cheese and egg. Also a sausage, cheese, and egg on a bagel. Fairly priced, filling and exceptionally good coming from a little donut shop. They also had other food items: Tuna melt, turkey club sandwich, and curry soup. They have specials each day. What does it feel like to cheat on your spouse? I can tell you now. I didn't cheat on my wife, but I did go to Pam's Donuts. Let me explain. I have been a huge fan of another donut shop in the area. In fact, it was love at first bite. I quickly introduced that donut shop to my family and friends which I normally don't do till we've been donuting for awhile. Well that place is currently close (owners out of town) so while I should've waited patiently, I just couldn't help it. I strayed and found myself at Pam's. Pam had so much to offer. She's got a nice place with plenty of space and seating. She welcomes you with drinks - 3 refrigerators full with a variety of options They have sandwiches, croissants, and all the kinds of donuts one can dream of. They even have donuts that's only offered seasonally at other places like a blueberry donut. I had my usual - a chocolate bar or what I guess folks from the Midwest call a long John. It was soft. It was fluffy. It had just the right amount of sweetness that fills a man with endless pleasure. I was quickly overcome with guilt. Will the other donut shop find out? What if a neighbor spots me and rats me out. I thought about the consequences, but it was too late. I was hooked and I indulged. They said you can't find true love using an app. But now I know that's not true. I'm glad that when we got matched on Yelp. Moving forward, will Pam be my donut on the side? I have been going out of my way to this donuts shop now for the past 8 months. Why? I saw this place next to my pool supply company and hit it up for an apple fritter, for the wife as a surprise (she loves apple fritters). I also bought myself a donut of course. Well, she loved it and stated this was her new go-to for her monthly fix (she limits herself to one a month). I swing by here once a month, or sooner, to grab us some donuts. I have been very pleased with the donuts thus far and she still claims they make the best apple fritter in the Temecula area. I also introduced my 2 year old granddaughter to her first donuts shop experience here. The owners (?) treated her like a VIP from the moment we walked in and she was awestruck with the window display of delicious treats. Being allowed to pick one donut was rough on the wee one, but she managed, they exhibited great patience and gave her a couple donut stickers as well. She loved the experience and we have returned one more time since. It might become a tradition for the two of us. I have also purchased, twice, breakfast sandwiches from here. Always have fresh great donuts especially early in the morning. Picked up donuts around 5am several times and there still warm! Made fresh and great tasting all the time.
