Took a bite of the apple fritter and was hard and didn't have any filling. Old fashion was dry and not sure if it was a plain one but this was nasty and not fresh. Honestly the donuts did not look appetizing just looks dry day old donuts. The donuts are pretty tasty, but not worth more than a 5 minute drive. Compared to Miss Donuts and Hole-N-One Donuts, I'd say Vista edges them out in flavor and variety. But as far as pricing goes, Hole-N-One gets the edge there. If you live in old town, there's no need to make a trip down Hot Springs to Hole-N-One. We moved to Murrieta recently and have been exploring our food options. My wife mention Vista Donuts the other day so we decided to give it a try. It's pretty much an old school donut shop. So if you're looking for specialty donuts, this isn't the place. But, if you're like us, we love simple tradition donuts and this is the place for that. Everything was excellent. My wife got an apple fritter and loved it. My 6 year old has her usual (from any donut shop) chocolate frosted with sprinkles. She too said it was so good! When I write a review it's often not a good one However I had an amazing first experience at Vista doughnuts. The doughnuts were fresh and in stock. The customer service was amazing and I was able to get out of there and feed my family for under 10 bucks. I always drove by here when I was younger and am kicking myself now for never dropping in. This place (of which there are two locations) deserves support because of both! A personal anecdote to share... about 12 years ago I messed up on the hour they closed and we showed up an hour late. My sweet 4 year old son simply sat on the curb and gently cried his disappointment. The gentleman who owned Vista opened the door and invited him in to pick out something. I've never forgotten, and better yet, my son has never forgotten this kindness. At the other location, a couple years later, the staff lovingly "adopted" my grandfather and took the best care of him on his daily trips to the donut shop. So besides being some of the very best donuts you'll ever taste, you'll be supporting a business that truly cares about its customers...young and old. This family run business should never be anything but your very first stop for donuts and breakfast croissants! I used to come here every Saturday morning with my dad as a kid. It was the best way to start our weekend. I will forever cherish those memories. This place is actually very good. I have been meaning to go back but their hours of operation are HORRIBLE! 4am to 1pm really?!
