We hired Palmieri for a 500 mile interstate move. They came for an initial estimate that was quite reasonable, and tuned the estimate on a second visit once we had better sorted what were were moving vs selling or giving away prior to moving. We had them do minimal packing, but the packing done was very well done. The loading crew led by Vic was super efficient but very careful with our home contents. The delivery (also led by Vic) was super efficient too, with the crew very careful and very willing to move anything wherever we wanted them. I was quoted for 5 guys and 10 hrs and ended up getting 6 guys who finished in 8hrs. They were so fast and so accommodating. I really appreciate Larry, Jose, and the rest of the guys with this move. Especially appreciative that they tried to get 2 couches into our basement. Neither couch made it down there because of the weird angles of our basement stairs, but we really appreciated their efforts to try. They showed up on move out day in time and treated our furniture and boxes with great care. I couldn't believe how quick they fully loaded an entire 18 wheeler. We just used Palmieri for a local move in central New Jersey. This company was recommended by a friend. Mike and his crew showed up on time, were very professional and handled our furniture with great care. They require cash, bank check or money order as payment for the remaining balance after the job is done. This is okay as I understand they are a family based company that probably got screwed when people wrote personal checks that might have bounced or something. The final bill even came in under the estimated price, which was abosolutely great! I highly recommend Palmieri. Moving is a stressful time for everyone and is never an easy process. After doing my research, I concluded that even the elite moving companies have complaints and poor reviews listed about them. An item or two may get damaged. It's called moving. It happens. MUST READ!! Palmieri Movers did not give me an accurate estimate. It definitely COST MORE as they struggled to bring the remaining items into my home and needed to call for extra help during the final stages. At 10:30 pm at night- do you really have a choice?!? Palmieri Movers DAMAGED walls, my hardwood floors in the foyer, kitchen, living room, upstairs hallway , 2 bedrooms in my home in Princeton as well as some new furniture. It's very unfortunate that the owners gave me the SONG AND DANCE for months and promised to send someone and get an estimate for repairs after I got my own estimates to turn in. After waiting for an email reply or a return call they will tell you it's too late and nothing can be done. Nice business model. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER!!!! THEY ARE NOT REPUTABLE AND THEY ARE NOT HONEST!!! This moving company does not stand up to their own words and should be ashamed and embarrassed to be in business. I will attach copy of emails between myself and the owner in the next update....all of the lies and promises in their own words! The email chain is laughable!!! My next action is BBB and my attorney. I moved on Memorial Day Weekend- Mike, Tommy and Rick showed up on time, set up the truck, taking care to protect the porch from being scratched by the ramp. They were able to extract my oversized couch from the apartment with no damage to the walls (first time a moving company had managed that EVER!) My entire experience was positive- they treated me like family. These guys work hard, they're friendly, and they made the day... Dare I say... Enjoyable!? For a few days before the move, we weren't sure we'd even have floors in the new house in time for the move. The owner of Palmieri Movers personally contacted me to come up with a 'plan B' if the floors weren't done in time. It was such a relief to have someone who understood the stress, and worked to relieve it in a cost-effective, genuinely caring way. Luckily we didn't need it, but it was so good to have in place! Quick tip- all changes to your inventory have to be done 3 days before the move. Make sure you have an accurate count of boxes/furniture so you don't get any surprises day-of! read more

We received quotes from at least 5 moving companies in the local area. Palmieri was on the lower end. We weren't sure if we were actually moving until the very last minute and Palmieri worked with us on holding a date and soothing our nerves. The crew showed up on time the day of the move and they were very professional. I believe the foremans name was Mike and he had a great rapport with his crew. They all had mutual respect for eachother and seemed to motivate eachother to push thru the heat and exhaustion. I see their trucks on the roads in the area regularly and several people I know have used them in the past. I would definitely use/recommend their services and specifically request Mike and his crew again. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because the knob on the dresser was damaged and the water lines on the back of the fridge were damaged as well. Both of these items are HUGE and extremely difficult to maneuver so I understand why this happened. We were able to fix both pieces at a very minimal cost to us so no major harm done - just would have been nice to have no damage at all! Also, we didn't call them to notify them of the damage so it's possible they may have even compensated us, who knows! We didn't think it was necessary to notify them b/c it's all a part of the moving experience - it's a risk you run when you move large heavy items. The worst movers in NJ. Over $3,900 in DAMAGES and absolutely no responsibility taken on their part for a baby grand piano that now has a scratch on it (and this from Palmieri movers who claim to be piano experts), plus a shattered column, a damaged nightstand, the headboard to our daughters bed which now needs to be refinished, and missing parts to both: a bookshelf and exercise equipment. The owner Mike Palmieri's only reply was "we will put this in the hands of our insurance company" then handed it off to his brother Victor Palmieri who I've spent almost 2 months going back-and-forth filling out forms for him and taking more and more pictures, and calling local furniture repair stores because he said I need to get estimates for his insurance company. Each of the furniture repair shops want to know why I'm calling instead of Palmieri movers. Victor Palmieri even said on one call with me that he would send me the missing parts the next day - but that was 3 weeks ago. Maybe I got their moving team on a bad day but Palmieri movers, although good at getting people to sign a contract, damaged several pieces of our furniture and have been very disreputable in how they've handled this. I would have been happy if they just apologized and offered to pay a small amount towards my cost of getting things fixed, but at this point I'm simply giving up and posting this online in the hopes of helping others to protect themselves better. read more

We have used Palmieri Movers twice. In each case, a crew of guys showed up and both times they turned out to be extremely polite, considerate, hard-working and very easy to work with. These guys keep moving with no real breaks and strive to get the job done as quickly as possible. No damage to anything and on the second move they got a very awkward shaped couch into a basement with a small doorway - they knew that was important to us and made it happen. I had a small issue that I discussed with the owner and he stepped up, reiterated the company's focus on making customers happy and quickly resolved the issue. This past move in July 2016 had numerous problems: inaccurate estimate, damage to furniture and new residence, poor communication. Recently, Palmieri reached out to me in order to address these problems. Resolution has been quick, professional, and my confidence in the company has been restored. They managed to get my dresser into my bedroom (the first crew could not) and reimbursed me for the inaccurate estimate and damages incurred on that day. I'm completely satisfied with these movers! Ozzy came to do the estimate, which came in at half of what another mover had quoted. I had a couple of hiccups (my own) along the way, and changes to the original inventory list, which Gabby in the office managed very well. Mike, Anthony & Jonathan arrived on time and worked diligently. These guys are very friendly, obviously very experienced, and though it scared me to do so for fear of going far over the estimated cost, had no problem adding more articles as the move progressed. When I was presented with the final bill (as I sat here holding my breath), it was exactly on target with the estimate! What a relief! Very unprofessional company - if I could give zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, I cannot even give a review for their moving services, and they were no shows on three separate occasions to provide me with an estimate. The first time, they had the decency to call and cancel themselves. The 2nd time, they didn't bother calling, my husband had to call them, and they informed us they were going to be an hour late, but we didn't have time to wait around. We figured third times the charm, but this time, they did not show, and never even had the courtesy to call. I used Palmieri Movers to move from North Jersey to NYC. They provided me with what I thought was a fair quote. I scheduled it such that I was their first move of the day, so I expected them not to be late. I was right, but on the day of the move they showed up almost an hour early and expected me to be ready on their schedule. The movers seem to be more concerned with speed than my personal property. I received an in-person quote in advance, and was told how my valuables (TVs, furniture, etc.) would be packed and handled. I did not witness any of the packing promises that the manager promised me during the quote. Based on the fact that they damaged several things I doubt my items were handled with any care at all. I had a filing cabinet that was completely demolished beyond repair, a wall unit that was scratched up and partially bent, drawers in furniture pieces that were now difficult to open, and nicks on other pieces of furniture. After several complaints Palmieri agreed to refund me for a portion of the move (about 12%), which I did appreciate, but it did not come close to the cost of repairing or replacing the damaged items. To all those considering using them do so with caution. If you do use them purchase the additional insurance. This was not offered to me during my in-person quote. Ask about it because you will probably need it. read more

Overall, we were satisfied with the work performed by the crew on the moving day. However, we were very unhappy with their customer service to resolve an issue with a bed headboard that was damaged by the crew. We initially reached out by e-mail and received a response that the crew had not notified the office about the damage although it was clearly stated in the bill of landing. After several follow up e-mails and calls, we finally spoke to one of the owners who with a pretty negative attitude requested for us to send him pictures of the headboard to help him determine how to resolve the issue. Pictures were sent as requested but we never heard back from the office on this. After several days of waiting on a response, we finally gave up on this and moved on. We will definitively not be using Palmieri Movers again nor recommending them to anyone. read more

I was thrilled with Palmieri movers. Ozzy was able to coordinate what ended up being an 11th hour move. Mike, and I believe Tom, arrived on time in Monroe Township and were very professional in the handling and moving of our furniture. My daughter was on the other end of the move at a storage unit in Marlton. Unknown to my daughter, the storage unit she was given was not climate controlled so Mike advised her on how to deal with that. We couldn't be happier with our experience. Although the movers appeared a little rough around the edges, they were EXTREMELY professional, fast, and efficient. They moved us out of our entire 4 bedroom house in 3 hours and moved us into our new house in under 4 hours. I used Palmieri mover on Dec 16th, 2017 in Bridgewater, they arrived early, extremely professional. It had snowed the night before so they rolled out a red carpet throughout the house so not to create a mess. They shrink wrapped the sofas and tables. This is not an honest company who stand on their promises. Please deal carefully with them On contacting the company, they provided me an estimate for moving my furniture and other stuff. I hired them and they moved my stuff. While scheduling, they promised me to give a 5% discount when I pay cash for their services. The same offer is still advertised through Angie's list as well. However, when the work was completed, I was not given the 5% discount even though I paid cash. So, after the movers left, I called the company and I was told I would receive a call from Jessie. I waited for a week and still received no call. I called them again and then they put me through to Jessie. She said she will look into the accounts and then will call me and send out a check. Since I didn't receive any call for 3 weeks, I called her again to see if there were any updates and she told me that they will mail out a check that day. I did not receive any check and I sent an email on Sept 2 to see if they really mailed it. I received a response that she will check with their accounting department and get back. I didn't receive a response for 2 weeks and so I emailed them again if there were any updates. I have not received any response yet. This is October 8th today. I moved on June 15th. I have been trying to get them send me a check since then and now its clear what their intentions are in this matter. Just wanted to alert the members on the way they work/deal with issues. During a move, there are bound to be an issue or two if you are a bit unlucky (like damaged furniture). If that's the case with you, its a nightmare to deal with them and you will never get any help from them. So please consider this area of their service as well before you hire them. I posted the same review on Angie's list and their response was a blatant lie that they sent a check and it was cashed. I have emails from their company folks that it was not sent. Well I chose Palmieri because of previous reviews and they great rate I was quoted by the owner. Then after showing up 2.5 hrs late, they tell me the job is a bigger job that I was quoted for. So turns out all they took was my furniture and charged me twice as much as my quote was for, so it took them 8 hrs to move a 2 bdroom townhouse (FURNITURE ONLY). Vic (an owner) told me the hourly rate was only $80 an hour , which is a good part of the reason I chose them, figuring if it goes over the quoted hours it would only be $80 an hour, turns out when I reviewed the bill they charged me $140 an hour. They are supposed to be calling me back, but the last I heard from them was Monday, so we will see, this may end up in small claims court. UGH!! That's the last thing I have time for! read more

I have used Palmieri 3 times. The first two times were great, the third terrible. I would not use them again. Bad rate, bad service, broke my stuff. I did not shop around because the first 2 times were good, so when they quoted me a very high rate I called and asked why. They said that if i sent them proof of my previous rate they'd see what they could do. I sent them the receipt from my last move ($140/hr for 4 men) and they said they'd talk to the owner, but never got back to me. Last year they had moved me into the storage unit from my house, doing all the loading and unloading and driving for $560. This time, they charged me $700 just to load a pod, which was half the work. It was more per hour, and only one of the 3 guys they sent seemed to be actually working, so it took a long time. The other 2 were "loading" downstairs but when we got downstairs it wasn't loaded. Also, at the end, the guy rounded up to the nearest hour when he charged me (after a lot of fighting he took off 15 minutes). Last year they had also loaded a pod for me, and had sent a very good guy who did it right, loading things in the right order so nothing broke and the whole space was used. I requested the same guy. No response of course. The guy who ended up loading the pod did a terrible job. The fragile boxes were all at the bottom, there was lots of room left at the top, and my double bass was thrown on top unsecured, and it broke. I haven't opened all the fragile stuff yet but the boxes are crushed. Also the plastic crates shouldn't be at the bottom (the last guy told me). They were, and they were also crushed and broken. I won't even try to get my 60 cents a pound from them because I know what the result will be. So, lots of money, bad customer service, terrible job. I used Palmieri on the recommendation of a friend but that was a mistake. I had a two part move out on one day moved in 2 weeks later. This is an expensive way to have to move and the price was within range from other estimates I got. They called the morning of my move out saying they would be late by 2 hours and when they finally arrived one crew began to load boxes until the other "real" crew arrived 2 hours after that. Although they were careful with large furniture pieces, boxes marked fragile were given no different care than boxes of books that were placed on top. They took everything that wasn't nailed down including a trash basket full of trash. They work fast so it is hard to really know what is going on. The team was nice and at the time I believed they were doing a good job. The move in was fast and furious. As they carry two large boxes at once, asking where does this go, is difficult as only the marking on the top box was visible. Hence many boxes marked basement wound up in a bedroom and kitchen boxes in the basement. Several of my fragile pieces were broken. read more

Our first experience a few years ago was actually quite good. That's why we went with them for our most recent move. BIG MISTAKE. The owner scheduled us for a 2 day move, like the first time we hired them. Well, this was not planned well, at all. One small truck, 4 men. They were there till almost 10pm. Called boss, was too late to send another truck, more men, promised better the next day. It was a bigger truck and more men. That part was okay. BUT, this is a newly built home and the damage that was done to the floors and walls was just not something we anticipated. The wood floors on 2 levels are scratched in many places, the stairs leading up to the 2nd floor have to be redone. There was damage to the trim work going up the stairs, and along the walls. My family was in the new home while I was back in the home we were moving from, and some beds that are heavy, along with some other pieces of furniture, several times, almost went right over the banister. It was really something that was tense to witness. All of the damage was not noticed till after we gave a very generous tip. So, the flooring company has now told us, we need to get out for 24 hours (have to stay in a hotel), and the painters have come and repaired most of the damage done. Robert, owner, poor planning all around on his part. We did not ask for wardrobe boxes - they were on the truck - like $500 worth. It took several phone calls and over a month for my husband to be reimbursed. Overall, there will never be a recommendation for this company from us. Unfortunately, moves are stressful - and the movers know you're tired and overwhelmed and cannot wait for them to leave. There really was little time at the end of our move to assess the damage. We should have not been so confident from the first time we used them. So, this is what has brought me to write such a negative review, and I will be going on other sites to do this again. If just 1 person can avoid the expense with this company, the damage they left us with, then I've done my job. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS!!! read more
