Inviting someone into you home and entrusting then with your stuff requires a leap of faith, but having spent a full day all 4 of them I can say without reservation that I trust each of them completely. The best part of this process was the cost, which was less than half of what other companies estimated. I know how important this decision is which is why I wanted to spend the time to let anyone who sees this review know my experience. He then walked me through the electronic signing and payment over the phone, and followed up immediately with an emailed copy of our agreement. On the day of my "move" (I actually just needed some furniture moved around inside my house) Casper and Brian called when they were en route and arrived right on time. What great guys! They were friendly and accommodating, and while they put out this chill vibe, they handled my furniture with great care and efficiency--and were FAST! Joe had the team stop at my partner's apartment, then mine, then transport to our new apartment together. This saved on time and make it easier for us as well! I didn't realize moving could be so fun! Dawn and Joe were both friendly right from the start with getting ready for the move logistics. Then, the moving day team was amazing. We were disappointed because we would told everything would fit in our POD. They rushed us and jammed all of our belongings in a sloppy manner leaving items that should have fit out. If they took the time before loading the POD, my husband wouldn't have had to repack the POD to make everything fit. I don't recommend this company. read more

Strongmile Movers called me within 24 hours following a request for quote. Joe was thorough and made efficient use of the time to nail down as accurate of a quote as possible. He offered multiple options and was ready with moving tips when asked. I really liked the email quote that he provided as it was very easy to read and left nothing up to chance or ambiguity. He was upfront about costs and followed through on everything he quoted. His cost was also better than the previous 2 quotes I had received. I also really liked that they rent the Uhaul based on the size move you have. They handle all of those arrangements so there is no extra burden on the customer. It turned out to be a huge savings in not paying the overhead on a Strongmile owned truck which is smart and innovative. I had a two day move in that we loaded up on the first day and offloaded at the new house on the following day. For the loading I had Casper, Brian and Bobby. They were professional, efficient and clearly excellent in performing their job. On the offload I had Casper, Brian and Chase. Again it was nothing but a professional and enjoyable experience. This was the first time I hadn't performed the move myself and I must say that I felt very lucky to find Strongmile. When I was looking I heard many horror stories from family and friends and couldn't get one person to give me a company that they would use again. I found Strongmile on my own by reading Yelp reviews and the reviews were accurate. I only typically write positive reviews for exceptional service and that is what I got with Strongmile. This is the fourth time I move within the past two years for different legit or stupid reasons but never hired moving companies before, and I'm so glad that Strongmile made the best first time experience. I did tons of research online and even compared reviews on various sources, and quoted around. I moved from a tiny studio to a 1br apartment 30-minute drive away, and I appreciate them taking this job unlike some other companies that think this being "too small". They use uhaul and thus provide some flexibility on price as you have options to drive the truck yourself or move on non-peak days. Labor rate is hourly based. Because of the good reviews, reasonable quote and efficient communication with Joe the owner, I decided to try them. Joe is very enthusiastic and dedicated to ensure I understand the whole process and all charge breakdown, which gave me a sense of clarity that no surprising charges sneak in. After I accepted the quote and paid deposit through paypal easily enough, Joe called again to explain more details towards the move and packing guide, and also another reminder call a few days before moving date. I like that there's always an email coming after each call to make sure nothing is missed. Brian and Chase helped me on the move day. They were very friendly and easygoing, and they can chat with you while handling the boxes and wrapping furniture with the most attentiveness. They also organized and secured items logically in the truck so nothing would be roller coasting during the ride. I was astonished by their efficiency of loading and unloading in no time (had three roommates help me moving the same furniture and amount of boxes in the past and it took us half a day), especially I have a lot of books so the boxes are mostly heavy. All bookshelves were sound and no boxes were crushed. Some other companies might offer better prices but makes you anxiously wait for the slow responses. Strongmile's awesome services from the beginning to the end is definitely beyond value. Hopefully I'll settle in this apartment for longer, but next time you guys will still have my business. Moved 09/30/17 from a one bedroom apartment to a storage unit. Rob, Chase, and Dylan arrived precisely at 9:00 am and began working tirelessly from the moment they arrived until the time they were finished at 11:00 am. FYI - Rob is a real life Tetris Master. He arranged all the contents of the apartment into a U-Haul truck which I picked up in a manner that utilized all the space. He also arranged the contents into a 10'x10' storage unit. I couldn't have done it. You pay for the experience of these experts. I could not be happier. Joe was very friendly. He explained how their business model works. He explained how much it may cost. He was very professional. So when it came to the move - I knew how much I would be paying for the move. I knew how much I could be paying for the truck rental. On 3/15/20 Strongmile Movers were hired, specifically on the basis of most of their positive reviews on Yelp. Anyway, after two days of the move, we realized that there were two mirrors that went missing. One of the mirrors have jewelry in them. We know for certain that the movers took the mirror from the bedrooms, because we filmed a video after the move, and they were no where in sight. We then called the owner Joe, and told him of the situation via email. He then called us and stated that he will check with the guys. After about 15 minutes, he called back and stated that the guys said that there was a "closet area" in the new place to check. We told him the mirrors are not here. He also said that sometimes what happens is that they forget stuff, but that the UHaul truck was returned already. We also recorded the call in the event of any mishap. Joe is very thorough and professional. We understand that this isn't his fault. But it really sucks to have had this happen, especially after our generous tip. read more

Once they receive your form, they will call you soon after. I read a review on yelp from a guy who recommended this. I followed his recommendation on the yelp review. Soon after I completed the form, Joe called me. Joe was very informative and gave me enough information for me to make a decision in 10 minutes. Joe was perfect! He confirmed the details of the move for the next day. Sent me a quote online and I was able to provide a deposit via PayPal. The whole process was convenient! The guys at Strongmile did a fantastic job moving my furniture from my bedrooms to a storage pod. They took special care ensuring the furniture did not get damaged, the items were stacked safe and logically, and things were kept clean. They moved quickly and didn't waste any time. They even moved an extremely heavy cast iron stove for me. I liked how they called the day before to confirm and called when they were about a half hour out so I was able to make sure I was home without waiting around all day. Moving is stressful enough by itself, but these guys made it all the much easier. Reasonably priced and totally worth it. I had two guys help me move out of a 2 bedroom condo on the third floor without any elevators. No small feat considering we had some pretty big furniture pieces. I liked that they wrapped all our scratch-prone furniture and that you have the option of buying the furniture blankets at a discount. (You get a credit if you decide to sell the blankets back to the company when you're done with your move.) The guys did an excellent job of effeciently packing up all our stuff into 2 pods. We were so pleased with their work we called them up again when we moved into our new house 2 weeks later. This time they sent 3 different guys but still the same level of professionalism and quick work. When we opened up the pods it looked like nothing had shifted during transport or storage. The guys checked with us where to put every box or piece of furniture. They even offered to unwrap our furniture for us. Don't be fooled that the guys they hire are young and laughing while they work. They get the job done quick and were incredibly friendly and fun to work with. read more

Strongmile Movers were hands down the BEST movers I've used during my life. In June my boyfriend and I moved from a second floor apartment plus stuff we had in storage that we bought into the apt to pack.....to our single family home and the guys that Joe sent to execute the move were nothing short of awesome, capable, professional, and friendly! The crew met me at the UHaul promptly at 8am and drove the truck for me. I was nervous because I had to leave for work while my boyfriend stayed to facilitate the move......my A type personality was in overdrive but Joe did everything he could to keep me calm and assure me that his crew would listen and take care of any previously stated requests as well as any last minute ones from my boyfriend as the move was happening. The crew quickly loaded all the boxes (over 65 boxes!), disassembled living room, dining room, bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom items and furniture with ease and loaded them up. They were on the road sooner than I expected as I got by the minute updates from my boyfriend. Unloading at the new location, and reassembly of all the furniture plus placement in each room was perfect. I arrived home to my new home and everything was perfectly in its place, some even placed BETTER as the guys had an eye for placement/room flow. Price was extremely fair for the amount of stuff I had. They supplied all tools to disassemble/reassemble any furniture (left the drill behind by accident though!) My closing date was changed 4 times, and each time Joe was as accommodating as their schedule allowed - it was a pleasure dealing with hiim. I would highly recommend Strongmile Movers to anyone that has a move big or small coming up! PS - HEY JOE! Your crew left a high powered electrical drill behind during the move. I truly will live and die by Yelp after this experience with Strongmile. After reading the amazing reviews about their service and reasonable price, I decided to use them for my move. Their reasonable price comes from the fact that they use Uhaul trucks to do their moving jobs. They also give the option of having the customer do all the driving of the truck, which saves you a couple hundred bucks on the hourly cost they charge. If you're not interested in driving the truck, they will do it, you just have to go sign for the truck in person. I opted to have them drive since I was burnt out from preparing for the move. So the movers met me at the Uhaul station, picked up the truck and got moving from there. Once they arrived at my apartment, they started working like mad men. I've seen a few moving companies in my life and none as fast and efficient as these guys. They came with all the equipment they were supposed to bring and immediately began wrapping, carrying and stacking. I had a larger than expected couch which took some time to fit into the truck, but once that was done, they got the whole job done at an incredible pace. Once we arrived at my new place they unpacked everything swiftly and smoothly. You can pay them via credit card right on the spot, which I did and that was all she wrote. They guys did everything perfectly and are probably the best bang for your buck you'll find in New Jersey. Highly recommended. read more

Strongmile is a moving helper company - which means you book the moving van/truck up front yourself and drive it yourself (or you can pay to have them drive it for you.) I opted to drive my own truck to cut down on costs. I got 2 guys for my move; they were on-time, friendly, professional, and worked very efficiently. They had to move me from a fourth-floor walk-up in Jersey City to a house in Jersey City; they disassembled my bed and larger furniture pieces effortlessly and reassembled them when they unloaded the truck. Nothing was damaged, and the truck was packed expertly and with care. All the charges were up front - and I paid fairly close to my estimate cost. If I have to move again in Jersey City, I'd chose these guys in a nanosecond. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

I have moved every year for the last dozen years. I have always hired movers. This move was my first with a baby and we were just messes. Nothing was packed well, things weren't wrapped properly. I was really expecting total disaster, especially considering the insane stairs at our new apartment. When we pulled up to the Uhaul (get there early, we wasted 45 minutes on the clock dealing with uhaul lines and incompetence) there were five guys there, all in matching tshirts stretching, jumping. We were like "damn." When we opened the door to our two bedroom apartment they were like hurricanes. The entire truck was loaded in 90 minutes. Totally. The unloading took a bit longer because of the crazy stairs but they honestly banged that out really quickly too. The whole move was five hours including the wasted uhaul time. They shook all of our hands when we met them and they remembered our names, even our daughter. They helped us lower our baby's crib, helped visualize how to layout the rooms. They were just epic. My husband and I wanted to hug them. Best movers either of us have ever used without any hesitation. I could not recommend the team we worked with, or Joe in the office, more enthusiastically. read more

We had just moved long distance (1,500 miles) by POD from Dallas to West New York, NJ, and we needed a local moving company to help us retrieve our belongings from the POD warehouse and move it into our top-floor apartment. We both have back problems, so we really needed a reliable moving company. Everything was explained up front to the tee, and our total expense matched the estimate. We had Adam, Caspar and Rob, and all 3 were phenomenal. They were troopers in carrying some heavy items up five flights of stairs. I would say when asking for an estimate, count everything to get as close to that estimate as possible. The company does not have its own trucks, but they work very well with Uhaul and will even book the truck for you. We had them drive the truck, which costs more by adding time, but it was so worth it. The company was superb, and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again should we have another local move. read more

I hired Strongmile Movers to help my 90-year-old father move from his 1BR apartment in New Jersey to a new 1BR apartment in Virginia. Based on all their 5-star reviews on Yelp, I didn't even bother to call anyone else, and now that the move is over I am glad I chose Strongmile. A "labor only" moving company was exactly what I was looking for. Since Strongmile does not have their own trucks, the customer has the flexibility to drive their own U-Haul truck which saves loads of money, and in our case, lots of time. This was a 6-hour, out-of-state drive, so Dad and I just set off on the road that night, as soon as the truck was loaded. Then we had a similar moving company in Virginia unload the U-Haul the next day and help us move in at his new place. From our initial phone and email contacts, Joe was very thorough and helpful about the company's procedures. We had an afternoon appointment the day of the move, with a three-man team. They took great care in moving dad's furniture, and even shrink-wrapped some of the pieces to keep scratches off. The team brought their own dollies, tape, wrap and tools which made the move go by even more quickly. In less than two hours, they were able to load all of dad's furniture, plus 25 boxes of books and assorted items, PLUS make an extra stop at my sister's house to drop off a piano. I have moved many times over the years and have never seen a moving company work so efficiently. Well done! read more
