John and Tommy were his movers and they did an amazing job. They wrapped his furniture beautifully (it was raining on and off that morning) and they took great care with moving his items through a narrow staircase on the way out. Luckily, the move into his new place was less labor intensive! The price quote was fair, and they arrived on time. They made this situation very comfortable and smooth for my dad. They put him at ease and ensured that he was happy with the placement of his furniture in his new digs. Many boxes were ripped , some pieces of furniture/bulky items were damaged or broken. And one of the door frames of the new home had a large chunk of wood taken out , i imagine from a piece of furniture moving in. We had boxes clearly labeled with what room to be placed in, and many ended up in the wrong rooms. Same applied to the furniture. I appreciated them being able to move a piano (extra cost, but still! Not everyone does it.) and I appreciated them being able to accommodate the moving time shift, however the price significantly jumped from the initial estimate when we had pushed the time from late morning to afternoon. They started off as the cheapest estimate we got, out of 5 estimates, but ended up being the second highest cost. We would have booked with a more reputable company if I had known the price would jump so high. (It was a few thousand dollar jump.)

I don't know about you, but I am so sick of companies that think putting someone on the other end of the phone, in a position of negative combat, is offering customer service. That is what you get from Interstate Waste, formerly Grand Sanitation. Not to mention their high prices! I put old, dried up, water-based paint cans in my trash. They are as solid as a rock. I did this because if you do a search on Google and ask how to dispose of them in NJ, this is the answer you get. I also called customer service years ago, back when they were Grand Sanitation, and that is what I was told to do. This morning my trash was not picked up by Interstate Waste, formerly Grand Sanitation. I called customer support. The Interstate Waste, formerly Grand Sanitation employee kept saying, "No!" "You can't put paint cans in your trash, only trash bags." Her only approach was combative. Instead of saying, "I'm sorry this happened. Unfortunately, we don't allow paint cans in the trash bin, BUT you can do X, Y, or Z. Can I set that up for you? All she did was say, "No! You can only put trash bags in your can." If she did not have the answer for what to do, she could have said, "let me find out how we can address this situation and I'll get back to you." I think our country has gone off the rails when it comes to customer service. We either get someone from another country who follows a script and does not deviate from it and inevitably does not resolve the problem, or we get someone who is combative. When we get actual customer service, we are so grateful that we don't know what to do with ourselves. So, if you have another choice besides Interstate Waste, formerly Grand Sanitation, I would recommend that you try any other company. XXXXXXX - Update - XXXXXXX Grand Sanitation responded with an attitude saying "The beauty of your review is that its for a company that no longer exists. It's not going to change anyone's mind! If you share with me your address I'll try to get your paint cans picked up." I state very clearly that Grand Sanitation is the former company that is now Interstate Waste. After giving attitude, they say what they should have said all along, "If you share with me your address I'll try to get your paint cans picked up." BUT share my address???? How do you do that privately if they do not allow contact through Yelp???? I think that companies are screwing us all every chance they get and we need to fight back.

He was late again (just a bit) but he doesn't drive a truck so I don't know what to make of the truck trouble excuse. Anyway, I showed him both floors of my house full of furniture: DR set, kitchen table and 8 chairs, huge sectional, loveseat, and 3 bedrooms worth of furniture. He says he'll haul it all away for $300 plus tax. That sounded okay for that much furniture. I subsequently decided to donate all of the first floor furniture to Habitat for Humanity; texted Andrew and asked for a re-quote since it was now only 3 beds and one small cabinet to haul away. After no response for 48 hours, I called his office and his assistant said she'll remind him to respond. I think I heard from him a day or so later. I texted him a couple photos. Price is still $300. I asked how the price can be the same when he has very few things to haul. No response. He has zero personality/customer service skills and should not be in sales. I've since booked another company that's super professional & a pleasure to deal with.
