I called FFM on a recommendation from a friend on Facebook. I had a really bad experience 2.5 years ago w/ another moving company and wanted to know that I wasn't going to be scammed for a second time. The quote I was given over the phone was exactly what I paid. Since the images of my listing was online the owner and I talked through each image and what would be going. After I was given a quote by FFM I called a few other places and nobody was able to do touch their price. Off to a great start! I then called them to confirm and we set the date. FFM called me to take a $100 deposit then I received another call the day before the move to confirm the time. They quoted between 2 & 4 pm. Perfect. More time for me to get everything finished in the morning before they arrived. They followed up the day of around 12:30 to confirm they would be arriving a little before 2 pm. Like clockwork Laura and her team (w/ 3 men) arrived about 1:50 pm. After a quick check of my things on their list they quickly started moving my boxes. I literally blinked and by 2:20 all of my boxes were on the truck. I literally couldn't believe it. They then started on the big items. Bedroom furniture, sofa. Entertainment center. Etc. They disassembled everything and wrapped each piece in blankets and or paper and taped them up. I was blown away by the care they took for my things not to mention how easy they were to work with and so very professional. Before I knew it was around 3:30/4 pm and we were heading to my new place. Once we arrived we did a quick walk through to decide what was going where and the next thing I knew, the truck was emptied. I have to say... this was such a pleasant experience with an extremely professional group of people. I couldn't be more grateful for the recommendation and I highly recommended FFM. As someone coming from a REALLY bad experience just 2.5 years ago as it is still so fresh in my mind; I know the difference... trust me! Both monetarily and professionally FFM hit it out of the park! The company did quote the cheapest rate of the companies I called. I do feel the name is deceptive. They actually charge for "extras" such as tape they used, They only allow for 3 hours and it took them 5 hours, an additional percentage for using a credit card, mattress wrapping, milage and gas. I was also told that the owner would take 10% if I added the tip on the bill. When it came down to it, my $700 "Flat fee" quote was over $1100. They were professional and did do a wonderful job. Nothing broke during the move. My previous Yelp review was made at the request of the crew, while they stood next to me when I wrote it. Possibly one of the best movers we have come across. I dealt with Lizzie and Daniel to book and they were wonderful, fast to sort out paper work and most importantly the price was extremely reasonable for our one bed move as compared to other companies we checked out. On the day of the move there were 4 in total movers who were extremely professional and on time (they actually were 30 min early which was convenient as they used that time to wrap our items) they were quick and efficient. We were charged for an extra hour but we expected that given the fact that we had a complicated bed that they took apart and put back together in the new site. If I could give this company 0 stars I would. This is the most unprofessional and dishonest company that I have ever delt with. I felt like they were doing absolutely nothing to make the customer happy and leave with a positive experience. Their estimate is a completely random number and you will be paying at least $200 more than the price they give you. First they came and wasted the first 15 minutes signing papers which actually comes out of your time, which you are paying them hourly to move. The movers were very rude and when asked to move a couch down 6 flights, one of them actually started to complain and threatened me that he would take 40 minutes to walk it down. A mover complaining about moving? The manager/owner was extremely rude after trying to work it out after they took 2 hours over the expected time from the estimate. They told me that if I wasn't going to pay for the extra two hours now (before unloading the truck) I would have to call the police to get my furniture back! This was not okay and I was seconds away from calling the police. Also they left my couch sitting on my sidewalk as well just because the time was up and they had to go to their next job. This experience was the biggest headache, and moving is stressful enough. Stay away from this company!! They are dishonest and very rude and you will be very upset to find out your move will cost you way more than you thought. If you give an estimate you should stick to it or at least be within an hour of it. read more
