Sadly I can not recommend Booth Movers and it is such a shame b/c my first impression of George was great. He came out and seemed to be very knowledgeable and attentive. I got my quote and was happy with my rate. Then my move got delayed but I stayed in touch with George for months giving him updates. When the time came to move, I reached out to George to schedule a date and that is when first disappointment took place, my rate has suddenly changed and went up by $15 an hour b/c even so I was quoted one rate, bc my move was changed, I was now moving in what they call "peak" moving season and have to pay more. Of course not once during the numerous emails I had with George during the delay period was this mentioned to me. And as most of us working people, prices do matter so the very affordable Booth Movers became not so affordable anymore. But at that point it was too late to try to find new movers, so I just had to suck it up. Now part of my quote had a separate item called "Travel Time", when asked about it, I was told its time b/t pick up and drop off and just like the rest of quote it was just an estimate. So the movers came, I have to say they did a decent job, and it took 3 guys 6.5 hours to move me into a one bedroom apartment without any major hiccups. Then when I was presented with the bill, I paid for my 6.5 hours which also included the travel time from and to, and then there was this other Travel Time charge of 1.25 hours. When I asked them about it they were not sure what it was and tried calling the office to get more details but no one was there. It turns out it is time for Booth Movers to commute to and from Job!!! So they expect the customers to not only pay for the moving but also for the movers to commute to and from work!!! And the price is also at the same rate as doing the moving, which to me doesnt make any sense. I have tried to resolve this issue with their accounting department, also bringing up the sudden rate increase and these absurd travel charges which are not properly explained to customers, but it has not been successful. Two of my friends have also recently used Booth Movers and when I followed up with them on the Travel Time Charge they shared my feelings that it was never properly explained and they didnt feel it was fair to be charged for it but they didnt want to have to argue with them over it. Well my Travel charges are $225 on top of the $1200 I already paid them and it just doesn't seem fair. I was trying to resolve this matter in a compromising style but I think I will be forced to file a complain with BBB. This is really a shame b/c like I said, the initial impression was great and even the moving guys were great, but I know fully regret using them and will never recommend them to anyone else. read more

I recently moved from New jersey to Long Island. I had to store my furniture for a period of time before moving to my new home. I started researching storage facilities near my new home in Long Island, and found the process very complicated, I was unable to secure a unit for the dates of my move, and would end up paying additional monthly charges on a storage unit to secure it for the dates I needed. I found a moving company called Booth Movers, located in NJ that had great reviews on Yelp. They provided moving & storage which i was looking for. After contacting Booth, they sent a representative to my home to review what items I would be transporting and discussed all pricing options with me. Booth was able to provide me with lamp boxes, TV boxes, options for packing up fragile items like art work, & mirrors. In addition to that all of my furniture was wrapped in plastic bubble wrap & secured with blankets to protect it. The team of workers Booth sent to my home the day of the move were exceptional. They catalogued all my boxes & furniture being packed & stored, which made it easy for me to account for everything when they moved me to my new home. The employees from Booth were friendly, accommodating & extremely helpful, they worked efficiently & addressed all concerns I had about taking care of my possessions. Booth took care of everything for me, and allowed me to focus on all the other issues I had to deal with during this stressful time, packing up one home, storing my items, and helping me make the move to my new home. If I ever move again, I will only use Booth Movers. Excellent company to work with, and a great team of movers who made the experience so manageable & stress free. It is not too often I write a review to provide feedback on services provided. However I was compelled to do so after having such a fantastic experience with Booth Movers these past few weeks. Both Fred and Christine provided excellent service throughout the whole process-from my initial call to Christine inquiring about the company services, to Fred coming to our house and providing the quote, the quality of service was both friendly and very professional. You always hear horror stories about movers damaging items and showing little regard for owners property. Well, Edwin and his crew completely shatter that myth. I can't say enough good things about Edwin and how he managed the whole process. He has a work ethic I have rarely seen in someone-he did not waste any time having his crew get to work while he loaded items on/off the truck with both care and precision. You would know that he is a seasoned professional in the business given the way he utilized every inch of available space on the truck. He was extremely accommodating on all matters and it was very evident that he takes great pride in his work. His team of Jorge, Pedro, Norberto, and Danny took great care both loading and unloading our items working in an efficient manner even as darkness fell during the unloading process. I am happy to report that not one single item was damaged during the move-a true testament to the quality of service provided by Edwin and his crew. Let me start out with the bottom line: I could not have asked for a more positive moving experience in all respects! I highly recommend BOOTH MOVERS. The details: We recently moved a family member from her house to an assisted living facility in north Jersey. I was not looking forward to the ordeal (who likes to move?) at all. But from the beginning when George provided the estimate, until the last box was unloaded into her new place, there wasn't a single hiccup or glitch. Everything proceeded with efficiency, friendliness, professionalism and accuracy ... and all of this was for a very reasonable cost, well within the cost estimate originally provided. Had Booth Movers helped with my move this weekend and it was a life saver! The whole process from booking, follow-up, confirmation, to the actual move itself was superb and in great details. On the day of the move, Adam gave me a call 10min before 8am that the guys will be here in 15 minutes for our 4-hour window starting at 8am. Within 10min, the guys (Harvey and Reggie) were here in a shiny clean truck! They took great care in moving my packed boxes and keep asking if there were more to add onto the truck (as I was still packing while they were here). They also graciously helped me to move a huge big TV that I cannot carry to the garbage. The way the packed and wrapped my items in the truck and the process they took in At the new place, they checked in with me where each item/box should go to minimize the need that I have to move them myself. Really appreciate their patience in helping me to configure furniture placement by moving the same item a few times, and also appreciate the interior design/furniture placement ideas and suggestions that they friendly shared! The whole process was so smooth and swift that it finished within 3 hours. The way they packed and wrapped my items in the truck, and the process they took in planning the whole move was very professional. I heard really good things about this moving company from credible sources in the industry . Apparently the day they moved me, they were a bit off the mark. Just a few issues we had: Dining room table and chair(estimated cost $6,000) They chipped my chair pretty good. They told me the crazy glue it(LOL) They chipped my china closet. They did not even tell me. I had to inquire. There excuse was a strap got loose in the truck forcing the chair into the closet which caused the damage on both(LOL) Dining room table, still waiting for my screws of which they misplaced. Repetiive calls and never heard a thing. The day they confessed they were lost I was told that Home Depot would solve the problem with the replacment screws.(LOL). China closet in the living room electrical switch bent within door frame. They had no excuses for this. They just denied but was never documented upon there load at my old house. What was my parting gift? They let me keep a blanket. Why you ask? Because my table had no screws and they said it would be better to protect your table until you go to home depot to get the screws. Just an fyi, the table is custom and I had to have a contractor come in to fix temporaily until my screws show UP!!!! Still waiting. You know who I am!! read more

Booth handled my daughter's move today from Hackensack to Maywood. You just moved her in a year ago. She moved out of a 2nd floor apartment and moved into a 2nd floor apartment. Booth's team of Walter, Oscar and Alberto did EVERYTHING. They were amazing. I was left in charge because my daughter had an appointment. I was also the "financier" of this move. Booth has moved me every time I have moved for the last 45 years. I have never had a bad experience and today was no exception. At the last minute, we had to request Booth push the move time back from 8 a.m. to noon, due to a snafu on the building management's end. Booth said, "No problem." The furniture was heavy, the stairways narrow, my daughter and her roommate had more boxes than I've ever had combined in 45 years of moving and the afternoon was hot and muggy, Booth said, "No problem." Walter, Oscar and Alberto wrapped the furniture, took furniture apart, put it back together, moved the furniture several times when we didn't like where we placed it initially - we were a PAIN. These guys said, "No problem." They were polite, they were patient, they were efficient - and they did ALL OF THIS in exactly 4 hours; AMAZING. When you think of moving you typically think of all the stress and headaches that automatically come along with it. Not the case when you have Booth movers! The entire process was seamless...from the moment I called and spoke with Chris to when the last box was moved out of my apartment. Additionally, because I'm still looking for my next place, I had to find a location where my furniture could be stored in a safe, climate-controlled space. Luckily Booth had availability in their storage facility and both George and Chris were especially helpful in making sure that my belongings would be taken care of. When moving day came, Jr., Juan, and Tony arrived on time and took great care in packing up my furniture to ensure against damage during transit and storage. Honestly, this crew was top notch - knowledgeable, careful, detailed and thorough (they took inventory of all of my stuff so that I could make sure everything was accounted for upon move out of the storage facility)...not to mention hysterical!! Had my mom and I laughing the entire 4 hours it took for them to put everything into the truck.They obviously work really well together and I requested them to move me into my next place when the times comes. I recently hired Booth Movers after researching and interviewing 10 companies. Booth came out tops on all criteria, not just good reviews, and I got a very good vibe from the office staff and sales rep. They are serious about getting the job done right for YOU. The company is over 100 years old, one of the first and oldest in NJ and have been run most recently by the same family for 3 generations. They did not disappoint in the least. This was my 18th move. I have moved within the same state, cross country and internationally. My team of 3, Walter, Ramon and Tony, worked very hard, efficiently and quickly yet were very careful in handling my things. They followed professional protocols like wrapping & cushioning furniture properly, disassembling and re-assembling furniture that would not have fit through doorways and down narrow corridors with sharp turns, etc. They were on time, friendly, professional and finished the job within the 7 hour estimate. (The final cost, by the way, came in within $35 of the estimate!) They communicated with me whenever necessary throughout the process. I could not have had a better moving experience. I recently used Booth Movers and can't say enough good things about my experience. I was completely satisfied with the service they provided. It started right from the first phone call when I was able to speak to a person on the other end without having to play phone tag. They were very professional both on the phone and in person. The person who performed the estimate arrive promptly and explained all the details of the estimate. A few days before, the company called to confirm the move date. As I was moving into an apartment complex, the company supplied the required Certificate of Insurance. On moving day, the company called ahead to alert me to the arrival time. The moving crew arrived promptly and went right to work. They worked from the time they arrived until the move was complete. It was a small move and the time that it took was less than the estimated time. My final cost was actually lower than the original estimate. Booth is very professional. Moving is stressful, but I appreciate the calls, confirmations, promptness, and honesty of Booth. To say the least my move was very complicated. We were unsure of our closing date and above that I was 9 months pregnant with a 2 year old to take care of. We contacted consumer affairs and one of the companies they referred was Booth Movers. After my initial call with Lindsay to schedule my free in-home survey I felt much relieved. On time and very professional, Joe the estimator arrived at my home and walked us through the process. He presented several options that made good sense. He assured us that Booth would complete the move in a timely efficient manner. We received his quote that very day and after careful consideration we decided to contract Booth for our move. No deposit and pay after the move is completed made us feel like Booth was the most reputable mover we interviewed. On move day the Gentlemen Movers arrived on time and impressed us with their kindness and willingness to help us complete our move successfully. The final price came to exactly was estimated. We are so Happy we chose Booth Movers and will rant and rave about them to Everyone!!! read more
