Moved from Cliffside Park, NJ to Paramus, NJ. These guys showed up on time and did a great job with the move. They took apart, wrapped, moved, and assembled all my furniture beautifully. I actually didn't expect that level of care for my furniture. It ended up raining as we arrived to move in. The team put blankets down to wipe their feet prior to coming into the home as to make sure the house didn't get too messy. I appreciated that little extra, this is making the clean up a lot easier. We used HMS for a local move recently. We have moved often and since it was local, we only needed larger pieces to go. They were fabulous. They arrived on time and were in good spirits. They managed to carry some very heavy pieces without damage. They placed them where we wanted. They wrapped everything up and marked drawers etc for how they fit into pieces. This was the only moving company that told me straight up front about potential extra costs and "estimated" quotes. Joe went over it quite well with me over the phone. Every other mover I spoke with, I had to press the questions for them to tell me they charge extra for this and that, like they're hiding more fees from me unless I ask. HMS was honest up front and Vera communicates well over email. Only knock was that despite me listing certain items as fragile or "easily scratches", I still noticed new scratches and marks on some of my items like the TV stand and coffee table. But overall they were professional about their business and worked in a timely manner. read more

Excellent professional moving company. After our last very unfortunate move with CityMoving (do not use!) 9 months ago, we were very apprehensive with having to relive this experience again. Vera was very helpful, upbeat and knowledgeable and great to deal with. We were able to secure a date within a week for a move, almost impossible during this COVID period. We moved from Passaic to Bergen county and had two pick up locations. Our movers showed up 10 mins early, pumped and ready to work. Tony the foreman was so fast and so accommodating, so was his staff. They moved us quick and efficient, with zero hiccups! Price was fair and the stress level was almost non existent. From beginning to end these movers were great. Harvey came to my house and spent over a half hour looking at what needed to be moved. He gave us a written estimate for the job that was very reasonably priced. He warned us about snow since this was a January move.We ended moving a day later because of a bad snowstorm. On the day of the move Harvey and three other men arrived on time, worked efficiently and carefully and wrapped everything to perfection. They were great bringing the items into our apartment and were very patient the we realized some furniture did not really fit where we had planned and moved items for us within the apartment. In the end the original estimate that Harvey gave us was the price we paid. Everything that was moved arrived in excellent condition---nothing broken or scraped. They made the move pleasant and less stressful. I would definitely use them again!!! read more

Where oh where do I begin. Back on Wednesday, I viewed an apartment in Jersey City (40 minutes from where I currently live) and loved it. I applied and was accepted for a lease, and was then told the following afternoon I needed to move in by the first. Which was the upcoming Saturday. The Saturday that was now TWO DAYS AWAY! In a panic, I called a handful of movers and no one had any time. Then Vera from Home Moving Solutions called me at 10 in the morning Friday before my move and handled everything like a pro. We went back and forth figuring out what time would work for her, myself, a team of (excellent, by the way) movers, and my realtor. He didn't message me later that day. I had to reach out to him the following day. Then he told me he could come a few days later on Wednesday. I initially book them for my move and received a quote for approx $800 then the foreman came to my house with two undocumented individuals explaining to us that nothing was packed when it was. They lied! The foreman was very young and workers not experience they had rented a Penske Truck not even a company truck with 3 young kids. The foreman was trying to bill me more while they began the move for the stuff that was not in a box but was not fragile at all. Also, after contacting Vera several times she said believed what he said about stuff not being packed and told me she would cancel the move. In the midst of that my newborn got a fever and had to rush him to the doctors. The foreman assistant taped up a kitchen box on the top but not the bottom after several arguments w the foreman about the bill he grabbed my kitchen box and broke all of my glasses then called it in to say he was cancelling the move because I was being nasty. So my husband told him he would have to pay for the glasses which they never did. They cancelled my move and threatened to call the cops. Well I was left with broken silverware and no move when i was on a tight time frame to move before that week a holiday. I ended up hiring a very professional moving company Dans moving company who charged me less and took all my stuff included that in plastic bags. Literally everything and did NOT overcharge me. They completed the move in 3 Hrs! It was about 8 items in total and 11 boxes. Be careful because they tried to overcharge you in the day of the move. So I was told that foreman make money if they charge the customer more for example to pack your bags into a box etc. So be mindful. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

I am an unhappy customer and that is that. The only positive part of this entire experience was that your guys worked hard and effectively. They completed my job as fast as possible to keep the bill as low as possible. Justin was the foreman and he did his best to keep us happy by packing everything and doing an experienced and professional job. I didn't get the name of the other two gentleman but they were also very good . I didn't have money to tip the guys unfortunately, but Justin reassured us that it was not mandatory and in no way affected the crews work. This made us feel at ease. Justin and I have since become friends and he will be personally taking care of all of my moving needs in the future. I was mainly unhappy because you guys did not quote me for materials or the proper travel time. Thankfully the foreman gave us a new estimate prior to starting the job and let us know the new price in the morning. Giving us time to go to the bank and shuffle around money! Had he not done this, than our move probably wouldn't have gotten done and would have cost us more heartache. After all, my mother was very sick and did not need any more worries on her plate. Actually, we spoke to a guy named Chris, his orders while on speaker phone were throw the shit on the truck and get out of there as fast as possible. I was shocked by this response and realized that Justin was the only person who could help me at that point. He gave us an additional discount and a hug prior to leaving. I used them for a move in June of this year after being referred to them through a co-worker of my girlfriend's and could not have been happier with the service. Getting the initial quote and setting up the appointment was an extremely smooth process and everyone I spoke to at the company were extremely polite. Just as promised I received a call the day before the move to verify all information. The morning of the team arrived at the earliest possible time in the arrival window. All items were packed in very little time and i was in my new home completely within the timeframe of the initial estimate I was given. All furniture arrived and was unpacked in without the slightest issues at all. I had a very good experience with Home Moving Solutions. Most people, like myself, don't move often. When I do so, I am at a loss for what moving company to use. It really is a shot in the dark. The last time I moved, it was not a good experience and I was hoping not to replicate the stress I endured. I looked at social media but there as well, you don't get a truly definitive answer because there are always people who had bed experiences and it is hard to tell whether it was them or the company. Anyway, after reading the reviews I chose Home Moving Solutions. They had the occasional bad review but I was impressed that they responded to those who did not have a good experience. That illustrated that they cared about the company reputation. Vera came out to survey my vast array of useless acquisitions and gave me a price I recommend having a representative from the company come out for the survey because I did not do it the last time I moved and paid the price (literally and figuratively). Vera quoted me a price based upon an hourly calculation so it was not definitive. I was worried that the move would take longer than the eight hours she quoted because the last folks I hired did not compete the move in that time. On the day of the move, the crew showed up promptly at 8:30 and they first, knew their stuff, and second they hustled like nobody's business. They were efficient and professional, moving quickly but carefully so as not to damage anything. They finished the job three hours earlier than estimated. I tipped them liberally because they saved me money and worked incredibly hard. A lot of moving is in the preparation. It is important to properly pack for the move, mark the boxes and have them ready to go. When you pack, be cognizant of the weight of the boxes and don't just throw everything in them haphazardly. I used what are referred to as small Home Depot boxes because I could load them with books and they would not be too heavy and they are easy to carry I also used plastic bins for most of my kitchen stuff, including the food. Thus, if anything broke, the damage would be contained to one bin. Nothing, broke during my move. This is by way of saying that movers are not magicians and you have to hold up your part of the move. If you do that, you will have an excellent experience with Home Moving Solutions. They were more than professional and turned what I thought could be a nightmare into a very positive experience. read more

Shortly after posting my initial review I was contacted by 1 of the owners the same day. We had a good conversation about the events etc. and he was very apologetic. Honestly, I got the impression that he wants to run a legit fair business. Anyway, I was told that I would be reimbursed for being over billed by .5 hours. I was told I would receive the check the following week. That weekend the "other" owner of the company speaks to my wife and comes off sounding like he would send the check in exchange for a higher yelp score or removing the review completely. That is all you need to know about this company. If they kept their word I would have updated the rating with something more positive. Instead it has been over a month and no check. Look guys I am not going to chase you for a check of $100 so please don't bother calling/apologizing as I am fed up with your company as it is. Instead, I will just eat the costs of $550 in blankets that I borrowed from you and am now stuck with as I have no plans in using your services ever again after this experience.The owners need to get on the same page and take a course on business ethics. As soon as I saw a Penske truck pull up and not the company owned truck like in their website I should have just cancelled. They probably outsourced my move to a 3rd party. Lesson learned. read more
