My hubby passed recently and wasn't sure the condition of the roof. I wanted it inspected and a good friend recommended Palmer Roofing to me as she had her roof replaced by them recently and she had high praises for their workmanship, knowledge, and friendly communication. After a free inspection from Johnathon who in detail explained that my roof was good for 5 years. He showed me a few things needing attention. I agreed to have the repairs completed. He squeezed me into his schedule just before the rain. He sent me pictures of before and after and even cleaned my very dirty gutters! Johnathon is honest and trustworthy and I totally recommend Palmer Roofing. I will be calling him in 5 years to replace my roof. Call Johnathon you won't be disappointed. read more

Palmer roofing can be counted on to be helpful, honest and fair. We have used them since 2013 and they have replaced our roof and recently Jhonathan came out to do a check and we sincerely appreciated his communication and fairness. They were there every day continuously until the job was done. had five estimates he was in the lower middle. He coordinated with Gutter company so there was no hiccups. Palmer Roofing came highly recommended and now that the job is completed, I can see why. They are fast, do quality work at a reasonable cost. But aside from that, when there were issues first with the scope and then with some of the materials, they made it right, without any hassle. One of the best contractors I have ever worked with. I wouldn't use anyone else for roofing in Sonoma County. read more

His estimate was accurate and fair in dealing with the unique problems of our roof: replacement of damaged wood and improved drainage. The crew showed up on time, their workmanship was excellent, and the entire job was completed quickly. The final cost was in line with the estimate. I highly recommend Palmer Roofing. read more

Herb was very flexible and communicative, great work on our ADU, will contact when its time for the main house!

We recently hired Palmer Roofing Service to replace our roof. From the very beginning, Herb was very responsive to my questions and concerns. Herb was on scene each day to direct the crew and answer my questions and concerns. I was very happy with the group that put in the time and hard work. I am also very pleased with the new roof. I highly recommend Herb for any roofing needs. read more

I've had Herb Palmer over several times recently for various problems, and each time it's been 5-stars. I've previously had great difficulty in finding someone to tend to our sensitive concrete tile roof, and Herb has just been brilliant in terms of coming up with solutions, reassuring us and going out of his way to troubleshoot. A genuinely nice guy, super responsive, and I appreciated he was on hand to direct his crew when they had to do some minor works. The crew were also respectful, good natured and didn't mind my peppering them with questions. Thanks sincerely Herb - Tom and Karen. read more

While I did not have Palmer do my roof ( yet) , Herb Palmer was so kind to assist with an evaluation of a roof leak issue after our local atmospheric river last Oct.'2021 He took time out for quick review of a leak near the chimney while doing a job in my area, and gave me good advice that echoed what another chimney professional advised. Its hard when all the other roofing companies see a small issue as not worth their time, but Palmer went out of his way to help out. read more

They did a roof for me years ago, and questions came up while I was selling it, and they came out and helped me with everything, They stand by their workmanship and have incredible integrity.. That can be rare in today's business world! A+++++.. Thanks guys! read more

Herb's estimate was very competitive. He responded very quickly and after looking at the roof, he sent his quote in a timely manner. When the weather cleared, he scheduled at day for repairs. He and his crew arrived on time and set right to work. The workers were friendly and courteous and worked hard to complete the job. The finished product was great. I would highly recommend Palmer Roofing to anyone who needs roof repairs or a new roof. read more

We just got our flat roof on a house we bought last year replaced by Herb Palmer and his crew. The previous roof he was replacing was done very poorly so we were happy to have someone who was confident enough about his work that he gave us a fantastic warranty period. He was very informative of his process and what needed to be done during the entire re-roofing, giving us the opportunity to see the damage he was taking care of and explaining every step of the way what he was uncovering. On top of his excellent work he was very personable and enjoyable to talk to. It is so hard to find people who are this fantastic to do work for you- I would use them again in a heartbeat. read more

Herb Palmer is a top notch professional. We were in urgent need of repairs to a chimney and he took our call when many others couldn't be bothered. He is clearly very knowledgeable and could intuit what our problem turned out to be just in the initial phone call. He was compassionate and caring about our difficult situation. I was very impressed and would certainly give him a call again. read more

We had 6 bids for our roof all were way above Herb's bid. The best part was that even before I received the quotes, I told my husband I had the best feeling about Herb. He was honest, kind and very professional. We were even able to be done earlier because of a cancellation. His crew arrived on time and were very nice. I definitely recommend getting a quote and using Herb and his crew. Thank you Palmer Roofing! read more

Herb is Great! We really didn't need a new roof on my daughter's house, but the insurance company was requiring it due to "granulation". Apparently a number of insurance companies are looking for reasons to get out of the Santa Rosa area - gee really? We got 5 estimates and went with Palmer. Herb and his crew were timely, efficient and responsive. We did have a problem with the clean up on the first day, but a discussion with Herb was all it took and the place was spotless at the end of Day Two! They removed a tube/cap that was no longer in use, patching the hole; they also removed a satellite dish that was no longer needed at no additional charge. Herb was honest (told us we didn't need a new roof for 3 to 5 years), reasonably priced and responsive to our concerns. I would highly recommend this company to anyone! read more

Our roof presented some unforeseen challenges for Herb as previous roof had been laid over the original roof. Herb kept us well informed throughout the process, his crew was very respectful of our home, and cleaned up after themselves very thoroughly. We appreciated the professionalism of Herb and his crew. They finished on time and did a beautiful job. We highly recommend Herb and his crew. read more

Mike is knowledgeable, honest and capable. He worked with me through the process and did a great job.

For several reasons we are enthusiastically recommending "Herb Palmer Roofing," which is based in Cotati and just finished putting a new roof on our home built in 1930 in Monte Rio. First, Herb is a hands-on contractor. He is not an absentee proprietor but one who works side by side with his crew, doing all the "grunt" work that a good roofer must do. Second, his experience extends to 50 or more years in the trade, having begun with his dad when he was a boy. Third, his current crew (José, Jonathan, and Carlos) are eager and fearless young men who are able to navigate safely the tight and angled spaces of even a highly sloped roof (12/12 pitch or 45 degrees) such as ours, which many roofers will not address. They emulate Herb's high standards of workmanship and congeniality. Fourth, as an example of how thorough Herb and his crew are, he took the time to make careful "bevel" cuts, instead of "square" cuts, in the 3 1/2 inch sheathing. Meanwhile, his crew fit the beveled sheathing along the ridge of the roof so tightly that it eliminates any condensation and moisture that would degrade the material below the shingles. Fifth, Herb is the ultimate "professional," his vehicles arriving every morning promptly at 8 a.m. and bringing even a portable restroom. The crew cleans up at the end of the day to allow us the freedom to enjoy the outside area again. His price is very reasonable, and his workmanship meticulous. In addition, he is a problem solver with finishing skills who adapts whenever he finds dry rot or termite damage. read more

Herb Palmer of Palmer Roofing is the kind of roofing contractor you can recommend to your mother or your best friend. Very ethical and professional and knows more about all types of roofs than most roofing contractors out there. I have been associated with Herb for over 15 years and referred him to many satisfied mutual clients in that time. Definitely the person to call for any kind of trouble shooting but also the first choice to re-roof a whole house. read more

Herb Palmer is a true professional in his field. He shows up on time, and does what he says he is going to do. We have an old house that the last roofer made mistakes on, Herb fixed them. Gave great advice on colors of gutters, which enhanced the roof tiles. Herb treated our house like it was his, with respect. Cleaned up after he was finished, reasonably priced. I give him my highest recommendation, 5++++ stars. read more

We just had our split-level home re-roofed by Herb Palmer, and we couldn't be more satisfied with the result. Exceptional in every respect. He and his crew were respectful, professional, always arrived on time, worked hard and fast, and cleaned up at the end of every day. To our amazement he actually charged us less than the quote in the agreed-upon signed contract because he was able to finish early. We would recommend Palmer Roofing to anyone who wants top-quality workmanship from a dependable honest contractor. Thank you Herb! read more

We had a wonderful experience in dealing with Herb Palmer and his crew. They were clean' prompt' polite' and very diligent in getting our job done. We had a 'not so typical' quite difficult job with a tear off' added ventilation' siding to remove' new wall-roof flashing to be installed (which hadn't been properly installed originally) plywood to repair' trim boards to be added/replaced caulked painted etc. It came out perfect. No remodel looking hodgepodge mess. Herb made a suggestion to use a 40 year Malarkey roofing product and were glad that he did. Its very nice looking lite weight (made with recycled materials) and considerably more quiet in rain storms. The added ventilation (Herb's suggestion) is already helping out on warm days. Herb also suggested we tear off the old roof' and again were glad we did as we found wood rot. We cannot say enough good things about Palmer Roofing the entire experience was a pleasure. We highly recommend Herb Palmer/Palmer Roofing Company. They don't cut corners and do an excellent job. Dave C. Petaluma. read more

We have nothing but the highest regard for Palmer Roofing. We called Palmer Roofing to fix several leaks in our roof in 2011[Palmer Roofing did NOT install this roof] based upon a referral we had from a highly regarded building contractor. Herb Palmer came out and honestly evaluated the situation: part of the problem could be fixed by re-doing a portion of the roof but he thought that a leak on the other end of the house was a result of an improperly installed fireplace chimney. He gave us a very reasonable estimate & his workers did a great job on the roof replacement for the back of our house house. We followed his advice with regard to troubleshooting the chimney leak & he was right. After more than 20" of rain we have finally have NO leaks. I would highly recommend Herb Palmer & Palmer Roofing for an honest evaluation and excellent work. Terry Spear and John Rush read more

Herb Palmer did the roof inspection on a home we were looking to buy. He was fabulous. We were only given a 10 day period for inspections and he was able to come in and write the report within three days of us calling! He thoroughly inspected it, went through all the details in person with me, then wrote up the report with pictures very quickly (and did a great job with it). We were very happy with our experience and highly recommend him. read more
