The owner seemed angry and defensive but agreed to correct it. We were patient and allowed many months to pass and followed up with them several times. We figured we could wait until the slower season in deference to the small business, but hoped to have it corrected before the next rainy season. On the last follow up, we got no response. We can only assume they are blowing us off. The gutter connection referred to was a compound angle. When my husband first met with the company rep (in advance) and explained that the angle was not 90°, they confirmed they could make the cut correctly. My husband even provided a drawing beforehand on how the compound cut. The angle was not cut correctly so one gutter was bent up to meet up the adjoining gutter, creating an overly large gap between the house and the gutter corner. Needless to say, it leaks into the walkway below, which was the whole point of having the gutter installed In the first place.

We had two minor roof leaks, both of which were around fixtures that didn't have adequate flashing or correct metal-on-metal fasteners. The second time the owner Arturo came out and did some mitigation work until we could get the new roof, which just completed. The new roof process was painless and within budget. He pulled permits quickly. His crew got the roof completed within a week, cleaning up most debris. The final permit inspection was quick. We now have a new roof we don't need to worry about except for the redwood branches trying to call it home too

Even though they may have been there, done that, and bought more than a few t-shirts over the years, people still returned. He said that while "magic" was the main draw, the secret is to attend to all the details, make sure everything works, is clean and able to do whatever it's supposed to do. The same goes for most successful businesses, do it right and take nothing for granted. In this case it's the gutters on your roof that keep rain from going places where it's not supposed to go. If your roof isn't keeping things dry and without a doubt on your part, save yourself a lot of trouble and have Superior install seamless gutters and guards. In 2013 I decided it was time for a new roof on my house. I also decided it was time to quit risking my life every year cleaning out my old gutters. I had installed some DIY gutter guards on the old roof, the kind that work for maybe a year, then collapse like mine did. The guy I chose to install the roof recommended Superior Seamless for the gutters, which is how I met Cory when he prepared an estimate. He suggested I also have them install real, effective gutter guards that are securely attached no matter how hard the wind blows. The price was not only reasonable, it was well worth every dollar. I haven't climbed up on my roof since then... that's 12 years without a single drip or leak. Then came this year's first rainstorm, when one of the downspouts overflowed. The gutters seemed fine, but I called Cory and Jacob anyway to see what to do. In this case there was nothing wrong with the gutters or the guards, so not a problem that called upon their lifetime warranty, but they agreed to check it out anyway. Now to be clear, Superior isn't in the business of cleaning gutters. But when Jacob dropped by to check all the downspouts, he was kind enough to clear out the minor mounts of debris that had collected around some of the downspout openings over the past decade+. That is really incredible service. OK, so the business may not be as fun as Disneyland but Superior Seamless Gutters has something in common with it, in the way it operates. It's the same kind of business, with attention to details that people will come back to again, as I will if I live long enough to need another new roof and gutters on my house. They couldn't go onto our neighbor's property to clean them out but they were able to accommodate us by cleaning those gutters by scooping the debris out by hand! Those particular gutter were pretty full so we understand how much work that was for them! They recommended crowns be installed in the downspouts which will really help keep leaves and sticky balls, of the tree next door, out of our gutters. They also recommended a few things they could do for a problem "waterfall" gutter we have near the front door which we truly appreciated as well. It took several written exchanges to get the billing corrected. Their marketing text mentioned "before, progress, and after photos for complete transparency." I received 8 partial photos and was told in writing those were the complete set. The moss removal was a $1,479 line item on a roof I couldn't inspect from the ground. If you hire them, get a signed contract with clear scope, verify the invoice matches actual work performed, and confirm what documentation you'll receive during the work. I'd take the time to get multiple estimates and research other options before committing.

The company also uses large 4-hour appointment windows (8 AM-12 PM or 12 PM-4 PM) for inspections. As a landlord, I was uncomfortable sitting outside the property for hours waiting for the technician to arrive, as I did not want to appear intrusive or make tenants uncomfortable. The phone representative assured me the technician would call before arriving, but that did not happen. Overall, the experience reflected poor customer service and poor communication between departments from the very beginning. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Capstone Roofing.

I didn't realize that chimney repairs weren't covered under the HOA, so when the ARS employees came and noticed an exposed opening at the top of the room, they repaired it with some stucco, which was about 2-3 hrs of work. My HOA then told me I was billed for around $1,000. I was shocked that the small exposed area costed so much, and it was also then that our HOA manager told us it was our responsibility to pay. Had I known this before, I would have tried to repair it with contractors elsewhere. I'm not saying they did a bad job, I just had no idea a roughly 1ftx1ft area of repair was going to be $1,000, and that we had to cover it. It was my ignorance as the HOA manager then pulled up the HOA handbook to say that only roofing , and not chimney repairs, were covered. I felt pretty stupid, but I figured (again my ignorance) that if my HOA elected to assist in scheduling ARS to come take a look, that it would at least be partially paid for. I tried to at least ask my HOA manager to reach out to ARS to get an itemized bill to detail what exactly costed $1,000 for the few hrs of work, and they agreed, but I never heard back from them. Next thing I know, I see the $1,000 cost added to my monthly HOA fees, with a $20 late fee added on top of it. Like I said, at the end of the day it was probably my fault, and I will make sure what the HOA covers next time. I just wish my HOA manager actually followed through on my request before simply adding the bill to my monthly fees. They said they would be talking to ARS the day they agreed too. I assume they probably thought I was being unreasonable. I'm honestly not the kind of person to complain or write these kinds of reviews, but I guess I'll just be more aware next time. It's better to not authorize people to work on your house when it is through the HOA. The fees increase almost every year, but people in HOAs just have to realize the policies and not necessarily believe the HOA is looking out for your best interest financially. Just how things go I suppose.

I recently call Stephan and ask him he could come out to give me an estimate on a roofing job. He said he would call me back to confirm the date, which he never did. I had to call him back later in the week to see if we was still coming out to give me an estimate. He said he would. On the day that he was suppose to come and give me an estimate, he said he would be out within the hour but he never showed up. I had to call and ask if he was still coming but only got his voice mail. he later called me back and began to questions who owns the house and how soon do I want the job to be done, than he asked me how many estimates have I gotten. I told him he would be my sixth. I also explained to him that I am only calling him because a family friends had recommended him and said for me for to call Stephan. Stephan than told me that people who generally get that many quotes tend to waste his time and would not use him. He also said that his business is solely on referral. I explained to him again that the only reason I am calling him is because a family friend finally told me about Stephan and said to call him. Stephan said he would declined the opportunity to come out to give me an estimate. I am writing this review because I am upset with the fact that we didn't want me to waste his time because I had too many quotes already. If this was important to him and his business he should have asked me all these questions when I call originally rather than wasting my time with me taking a day off from work waiting for him to come out to give me an estimate. If I was trying to waste his time, than why would I have taken a day off to wait for him? Anyone who value their time so much that they have no regard for anyone else's time is not who I would want to do business with no matter how great they claim the quality of their work is. If you value your time, than have the courtesy not to waste anyone else time by following through with what you had promise to do. read more

From my first call to the company to the last nail driven into my roof, professionalism all the way. We needed a new roof so I had four different roofing companies come out and give me a bid. Steve's company was not the lowest bid but was in the ball park with 3 of the other contractors. I mention that he was not the lowest as it's important to understand that it is not always the best move to go with the lowest bid. In Steve's case, he was always professional. He handled all my questions well, his office staff was friendly and knowledgeable. I was impressed by how he made an effort to educate me on why he went with a certain product as opposed to another product - all in all, the presale end of our business was handled much better than the other contractors so I went with Steve. His crew arrived on time, everyday. They worked hard and cleaned up the job-site at the end of the day. On the last day of the job, I was impressed on how all of the crew actually got down on their knees to clean up the flower bed in front of our house, as they looked for loose nails and debris - a class act! I highly recommend Stephen Curley Roofing, Inc. When we purchased our property in Petaluma a dozen years ago we engaged Stephen Curly Roofing to replace the roof on an ADU unit and then the main house the following year. Mr. Curley is very professional, his team is careful and thorough, but also quick, and his prices reasonable based on other bids received for the work. Both roofs still look great and no issues. More recently we engaged Mr. Curley to address a condensation issue we were having in one room with high ceiling. Mr. Curley thoughtfully considered the problem, came back with a solution that he explained to us thoroughly, and his team quickly implemented. At the same time the crew upgraded our under-performing gutter guards, and that required removal of the old guards, cleaning of the gutters and installation of the new guards. These projects were completed in a timely and precise fashion and at reasonable cost . The crew removed all debris each day (2) of the work. Mr. Curley is very responsive, takes pride in the work of his team, and made us feel like we had a partner in the work rather than just a hired hand. read more

After multiple meetings with roofing contractors and companies, we decided to go with Stephen Curley. The reasons were many. Mr. Curley listened carefully to our needs and concerns and was very interested in making sure we got exactly what we were looking for. From the beginning we felt confident that his operation was trustworthy, reliable and experienced. The day the roof came off it finally started to rain in Sonoma County. There was however no need to panic; Mr. Curley quickly brought in extra help and we had two crews working feverishly to complete the job in what I can only assume was record time. The crews were thoughtful, extremely hardworking and friendly. Within that same day, everything was removed, recovered and waterproof for the deluge that came that night. The next day they finished up leaving the place spotless in the process. It's rare to find someone who does what they say they will to the letter, on time and at fair prices. First, the owner, Stephen Curley, did the up front inspection and estimate. He was easy to work with and very thorough. We knew it was time to replace our old roof, but he also was able to take care of concerns we had about our gutters and our skylights. The estimate was in the range we expected and we moved ahead quickly. His crew arrived on time, with enough people to get the job done within the estimated time. They ran into problems with one of the skylights, which had been on the roof since 1991, so they were able to create a temporary cover for the opening, until a replacement skylight was available for installation. Two other skylights were replaced and his team was able to adjust the openings to accommodate standard sizes, saving quite a bit of money over the custom sizes of skylights. The crew worked hard and were polite. Since these are pandemic times, it is important to point out that they all wore their masks and we never felt at risk. They thoroughly cleaned up the yard, when they completed their job. I highly recommend this company for your roofing needs. read more

We had a new roof installed (by someone else) three years ago. The original installer didn't put roof vents in at the time. Fast forward a year later and we wanted two attic fans and roof vents put in. Over the course of two years, we made multiple calls to the original roofer and several other roofers as well - most never called back - everyone is just so busy.... I got Stephen's name off NextDoor and left a message, not expecting a call back....Not only did he call me back, but he was kind to offer advice on how to get the originally roofer to call me back (in roofing 'speak'), and gave advice on attic fans, the vents, etc. Here was a company owner, taking the time to talk to me (even though he couldn't take the job) and give advice and volunteer to look at my roof via Google satellite. Wow - an unexpected amazing interaction from someone who had no 'skin in the game' and wasn't going to make any money from me. We recently had our roof replaced by Stephen Curley Roofing and I am completely satisfied with the overall experience and the results. Stephen Curley's crew repaired the damage caused by a faulty pool solar install from 15 years prior and installed a new mounting system to prevent pool solar from becoming a problem again. Stephen also listened to our concerns about heat build up and worked with us to improve our overall ventilation by suggesting larger more efficient vents, including a new smart vent. We've definitely noticed a difference and will be running our AC a lot less this summer. Stephen Curley's crew were friendly, professional and efficient during the entire process. The team laid down tarps around the house and at the end of each day, the work site was clean. Overall, the project took two and a half days, which included the repairs. Stephen Curley Roofing managed to solve a leak issue that no roofer in over ten years was able to fix. I was so impressed that I had him do a new roof for me, as well. Steve explained the work they would be doing and he walked me through the estimate, answering all of my questions patiently. He really knows his business! And I was blown away by every step of the process. They started the job when they said they would. And every day the drew showed up in time, they explained what they would do that day, they worked quietly (no swearing or loud music), they cleaned up after themselves, and they told us who would be there the next day and what they would be doing. And they cleaned up after themselves - completely - when they were done, each day. It was a great experience and he charged exactly what he said he'd charge. No surprises, no materials issues. I have been SO impressed with Stephen Curley and his organization. From their office manager Darlene to his Foremen and Jorge one of the lead crew have been all professional and very easy to work with. His crew even came in a week early to help with small roof removal job so an insulation project could be completed on time. The attention to detail and proactive repairs of dry rot have made this project successful and a smart investment in my home. It also looks beautiful and the house is now properly vented and sealed tight as a drum. One of my concerns was also the clean up of the work site...and his team did an outstanding job in this regard. I requested a quote from these guys and they came out very quickly and checked out the roof and did a thorough inspection. The quote came in competitively priced and included adding ventilation to my non ventilated roof. We agreed to terms and the work commenced ahead of schedule which was really nice. They completed the job in one day which was wonderful. Everything went flawlessly and I couldn't be happier with the finished product and excellent service. I've since had multiple folks in my neighborhood asking for their contact info as they were also impressed with how quick the job went. Stephen and company are honest hard working folks and some of his crew have been with him for 30 years which says a lot about how the business is run. It was very difficult getting a permit from the state, but Stephen Curley kept trying - for 3 months! Once the permit came, Stephen's crew was able to come within a few days, went right to work and completed everything in one day. I don't understand Spanish, but it was evident the crew was enjoying the work and each other. Dry rot and a few other unknown problems were more extensive than could originally be seen. The final cost was understandably over the original bid, but Stephen absorbed part of the additional charges. Clean-up was thorough. They cleared debris, dust and ash all around my mobile home; I didn't even find a nail! Stephen and his office personnel were professional, polite and obviously had my best interest in mind. Steve and team were absolutely amazing! Extreme attention to all the details of a quality roof. The team was very responsive, they kept the area around my home clean and safe during their work. Plus there's something to be said when the owner of the business comes on-site to meet with the homeowner as the job progressed. Our conversations yielded some additional ideas that were both functional (Vent placements etc.) and esthetic (Color availability for the rain gutters). We had a couple of places where some plywood on the roof needed replacement, and Steve was able to do this an an economical manner. I could not be happier dealing with Stephen Curley Roofing! We had a severe leak during a recent atmospheric river and Steve sent one of his guys out right away to stem the leak temporarily until we got the new roof done last week. SCR did a roof replacement on our house, and I was completely satisfied with their work. They showed up when they said they would, kept us updated on progress (including some dry rot they found), and completed the job on time. But the biggest reason I wanted to give them 5 stars is the way they handled an issue with my roof install. When they first came out to install the roof they had just started working with a new roofing supplier that makes the panels on-site. The panel company didn't do a great job, and left the roofing crew with defective, slightly curved panels, which we didn't catch until the roof was 2/3 installed. Once it became obvious that there was an issue, the crew tried a bunch of different things to try to get them to look good, but ultimately had to pull those panels and go back to their previous supplier. Nobody could have expected that the first set of panels would come out the way they did, and I definitely don't blame them. They were as surprised as I was. But Crandall Roofing handled the situation exceptionally well. From the beginning they made sure that I knew their priority was to get the roof done right. They never tried to pull anything over on me, and I know they lost a lot of money on my job. And when I brought that up they told me that wasn't something I should be concerned with, and that their main concern was getting the roof done right. Everyone wants a job to go perfectly from the start. But this is life and sometimes you get a curveball, like a batch of bad metal. But the best companies are the ones who make sure it ends up perfect no matter what. And that's what these guys did. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely call them back when we decide to out in an ADU.

Buzz Doughty and his crew just completed installing a new roof on our home and we are extremely pleased with the results. I watched Doughty Roofing replace the roof on the house across the street and was impressed by the crew's efficiency and work. I met Buzz when they were cleaning up on the job across the street; I asked him if he could look at my place and give me an estimate. He took a great deal of time to explained his estimate procedure. Buzz said it was a two-day job and responded quickly, answering questions right away, and came back with a good bid that same day. The work was completed between the recent storms in one day plus a couple of hours the next. Service started very quickly after signing the contract and was finished ahead of schedule and they did a great job. I'm very pleased with their work ethic and overall value for money spent. The workers were considerate (no loud radio music!) and cleaned up very thoroughly after themselves. I can say without hesitation that it was a great experience from start to finish.
