Crandall Roofing did an amazing job with my metal roof. The lines are straight, the color is good, and it's exactly what In was hoping for. But the biggest reason I wanted to give them 5 stars is the way they handled an issue with my roof install. When they first came out to install the roof they had just started working with a new roofing supplier that makes the panels on-site. The panel company didn't do a great job, and left the roofing crew with defective, slightly curved panels, which we didn't catch until the roof was 2/3 installed. Once it became obvious that there was an issue, the crew tried a bunch of different things to try to get them to look good, but ultimately had to pull those panels and go back to their previous supplier. Nobody could have expected that the first set of panels would come out the way they did, and I definitely don't blame them. They were as surprised as I was. But Crandall Roofing handled the situation exceptionally well. From the beginning they made sure that I knew their priority was to get the roof done right. They never tried to pull anything over on me, and I know they lost a lot of money on my job. And when I brought that up they told me that wasn't something I should be concerned with, and that their main concern was getting the roof done right. Everyone wants a job to go perfectly from the start. But this is life and sometimes you get a curveball, like a batch of bad metal. But the best companies are the ones who make sure it ends up perfect no matter what. And that's what these guys did. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely call them back when we decide to out in an ADU. read more

Crandall did a good job with my roof three years ago, but the rain gutter they had installed by a sub-contractor was never correctly installed, even after I complained, from the very beginning, several times. Rain still does not flow uphill. read more

Crandall roofing was hired to repair the roof leakage last January; we paid around $500; the roof stopped leaking for a short time. Last September it started leaking again; we paid around $2500 for the repair; we were told that it is completely fixed this time. Today it leaked so badly; we called them; we are asked to do Docusign. Nothing had been improved; only money is losing with leaking. read more

I was very fortunate that Crandall Roofing replaced my old, cement tile roof. I had originally contracted to have the roof replaced by a different company, but after a very unfortunate event with that company, they were unable to do the job. I had already had my solar panels taken down in preparation and also was having a large wedding event at my home in just a few weeks, so needed to find a new roofer as quickly as possible. I called several companies but they were all scheduled out several months. That was also the case with Crandall Roofing, but after Thomas heard my predicament, he managed to schedule me in right away. I was so grateful! Thomas, Arturo and the team were great to work with. Communications were excellent and timely. They did an amazing and beautiful job. When they ran into some dry rot problems in really awkward places, they were able to fix it perfectly. They started the job on Monday and it was threatening to rain on Friday. Amazingly, they were able to finish just in time (and my house is big with some complicated issues up there). We had a roof installed by Crandall Roofing about 20 years ago, a few years after we first moved into our new home. Recently, we received a "Notice of non-renewal" from our insurance company for roof "issues". Their data was obtained from some self-serving company that did what was most likely a neighborhood wide helicopter flyover. I suppose you have to pay for your hobbies somehow. We called Crandall Roofing and their response was to send out their manager Thomas to get a closer look, using a drone. The professional determination was that there was at least 5 years of use left of on this roof. He will be communicating this, with photos, to the insurance company. We'll see what happens. Simply based on this personal, detailed effort to help a customer from 20 years ago, and without compensation send communications to the insurance company on our behalf, I will be certain to use this company for our next roofing needs. After extensive research into local companies, roofing concepts, and shingle types and brands, we engaged Crandall Roofing to replace our large 28-year-old roof. The whole experience, from initial site visit to final walkthrough, was excellent and highly professional. The end result looks wonderful, and we are so happy to have an attractive roof that will protect our home from the extremes of Sonoma County weather. We selected Malarkey Legacy shingles due to their superior durability, best-in-class ranking, and color choices. The final result really shows the quality of both the product and its installation. We primarily worked with Daniel, Crandall's main project coordinator. He was clearly the most knowledgeable and helpful estimator of all those that visited us and submitted quotes. The communication with the Crandall office staff was great, from the initial contract, site preparation, project status, the permit and paperwork, and final payment. We always knew what to expect and what the next step was. The project itself was very well run, and we preferred the smaller and highly skilled crew over the nearby 1-day rip-and-replace jobs by other roofing companies. As an engineer, I appreciated the attention to detail, especially on our complex roof, and how tidy the job site was left at the end of each day. Everyone in the crew was very friendly and considerate, and always addressed our questions and concerns. my experience with Crandall Roofing was awful. I would not recommend them to anyone. Customer service was poor. Canceled less than 24 hours before they were supposed to come out. Excuse was they had a scheduling problem. Finally came out after two weeks. Did a roof repair without informing me and doing a change order. Job took longer than expected. Damaged my gutter and took their time replacing it. Did not put things back when they were done. Left a lot of debris. My ordeal start in March 2023 and finally got a new roof in early December. It's a long story. Hope my new roof holds up. read more

These people are excellent. They came exactly when they said they would, stripped a 4000 square foot roof and detached garage and hauled it all away same day. The next day the materials were all delivered to the roof using an elevator truck. Some rotted sheeting was found and replaced at a very reasonable additional charge. Shingling was begun midway into the 2nd day and completed on the 3rd day. Clean up was done each day at the end of the day and so far we haven't found a single stray nail. They were extremely efficient and the contract price was the final price other than some extra for metal vents and plywood sheeting, which could not be known until the shingles were stripped. I had this company redo my roof 6 years ago. I had a tile roof and no plywood underneath. During the process of looking for quotes, they were hands down the least expensive and most responsive. I gave them my budget and they kept too it. Even helped out with a few extra repairs. Once I agreed to use them, they were out within a week. They finished my roof within 5 days. I think a company should be judged not only for the completed job but how they help you after. I was concerned about the flange around an exhaust pipe on the roof. Mind you the roof install was 3 years ago. I dreaded calling because times are so crazy and thought I may get the run around. Nope, just the opposite! They came out within days and checked and secured all my exhaust pipe flanges AND blew the leaves off my roof!!! More than I ever expected. I was working with Thomas to get a new roof and integrated solar panels = $30k+ project for my home. I was impressed with his follow-up initially. He sent me multiple (incomplete) roofing quotes that kept changing as the solar proposal was refined. As a result, I had many questions to ensure I understand the total cost, the rebate, the tax credit, etc. At this point, he sent an email to me essentially snubbing me for asking too many questions and jumping to conclusions about my intent. My intent was to work with Crandall on this large project as long as they send me one clear contract and a complete proposal, which I had to request several times. On multiple occasions, Thomas reminded me that Crandall has a lot of projects lined up and that he was very busy!! Selected Crandall after reviewing 3 bids for our new cement tile roof. liked the fact that they were local, source tile made in California and had been very responsive to repair of our old roof. Jack was great throughout the process. Provided the bid and kept me up to date on the process and timing. Augustine led the install crew and they were fantastic. Started every day at 7:30am and cleaned up at the end of each day. Took a total of 5 days for tear off and replace. in this day and age it is so nice to deal with a company that does what it says. Anytime I use them they are GREAT! In one case a chain came loose that they had installed months before in the drain/gutter and they sent TWO guys out the next day and spent hours fixing it, charged me NOTHING! Leaking Roof Repair --- Great company, a little pricey, but they came out within 5 hours of when I called. This was my second time using them and they were wonderful again. It was $375 minimum for the first hour was more than the $250 I paid back in 2015 but whatever. Daniel and Augustine came out and found the leak right away. Rats had snuck under the tiles and chewed the tar paper. They put new tar paper on, and cleaned out the debris causing the leak in about 30 minutes. They spent the last of their time checking for other issues, checked the gutters, fixed chipped tiles, notified me of a crack in a vent (which they caulked in the interum) then leaf blowed all the mess away and told me how the rats were getting ont the roof. I called Crandall Roofing to set up an estimate appointment. The lady on the phone was polite and helpful. My estimator showed up on the day of the appointment and was also friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. I was looking forward to his estimate. I explained that I was leaving for vacation in a couple days and would be gone for a week, so no rush to get the estimate back right away. Four days after my return with still no emailed estimate, I called and left a message. No reply. I waited a few more days and called again. Hey, I'm flexible, and realize mistakes happen. I'm busy, too. No biggie. I was still interested in considering this company for my new roof. However, This time I spoke to a woman who was disinterested and unapologetic about the lack of communication from Crandall since the estimator visited my home. We bought a home that had been partially re-roofed by Crandall during a remodel. The roof was leaking in an area where the flashing was not installed correctly. Owner came out & said, oh well, we just install what we are given and are not responsible for fixing this. Roof was still under warranty, but I guess with them it isn't worth the paper it is written on. At same time, I had them give a bid for re-roofing the rest of the home and doing gutters. The roof bid was **8K** higher than other bids and for the gutters they were charging an extra 2K on top of what they should have cost. Needless to say, we did not go with them read more

Beware of this Company! I was recently given a bid to have my garage roof replaced by this company. A time was established and it never happened. It was impossible to pin them down for a specific start date. We became very frustrated and backed out of the contract. In all fairness they did refund our $500 dep in a timely manner. I would think twice about using Crandall if I were you. They are not reliable or forthcoming. I find it ironic that they post these radio adds touting how much they care about their customers. This Company has gone down hill and I will never recommend them again. Had Crandall Roofing do a big job for me back in '07 which included a tear-off and re-roof as well as a new addition. They were absolutely fantastic working with me regarding scheduling, phasing of work and install. I called today to schedule an estimate and preform another tear-off & re-roof on my outbuildings, basically GIVING them the job! However I never got past the receptionist. She seemed totally uninterested in what I was saying, telling me it would be 3-4 weeks just to get a estimate and the earliest the work could be performed would be December??? I get it that everyone waits to the last minute to Roof, but her dates were ridicules. She acted like I was interrupting something more important. Companies that want new/return business and get great reviews would make it happen. For me they went from a Hero to Zero. read more

I have worked with other roofing companies in the past and NONE come close to how great this company was to work with due to their proficiency, knowledge, and rapid response to my problem. I live in a Condiotti house, and we've lived here for 25 years. On stormy nights there has been a drip that we had called and had 'repaired' I'd say 5 times in the past 10 years. As the torturous drip ALWAYS came back we just would be confused and sad, and try not to kill each other as it was pinging right behind our heads all night. But my friend Kelli raved about her roofers and I thought I'd try again. I spoke to the NICEST person on the phone who had a crew out within a DAY, and it was raining as he went up there and diagnosed the whole problem. He did a quick fix to get through the storm of the day...NO PING. He said they could come back in about a week for the permanent repair and that he knew what was going on. It was the cap (which we asked about and had been 'taken care of' multiple times by 'roofers', and we were missing 2 FEET worth of chimney pipe necessary for proper function. The price was well worth it, the people are incredibly nice, and they literally fixed a job that no one else could (or I guess wanted to) but the other hacks were more than willing to bill us. I'd bet dollars to donuts that we are not the only house with this issue. If you have it, too, Crandall Roofing is the ONLY place to call. I'd call them for any future problem, and refer them immediately to everyone. Oh, and did I mention their professionalism during the pandemic?? Exactly what you would expect...masks, social distancing, and understanding of the importance during this pandemic. I wish I could give more stars, and I wish they could give a class on business practices to their competition so that other people don't go through what we did. read more
