We had Warming Trends perform annual maintenance on our fireplace in May. We had no issues with the fireplace prior to the maintenance appointment but now that we're trying to use it in winter it won't turn on or it takes multiple tries to turn on (just keeps clicking); if we do get it on, the glass is covered in condensation now, which we never had before our maintenance appointment. I have tried to reach them multiple times - I texted, called, and left a voicemail. I received a text back days later saying if I have any service questions to call. I replied immediately saying I already called and left a message (when I called I was transferred mid-sentence to voicemail by the woman who answered). They texted back saying they would have Mark call me ASAP but that still hasn't happened. I texted again a week later asking for an update and if they could at least tell me if condensation is normal because we never had that previously and I still have had no response. It's been more than 3 weeks now. I'm disappointed because our fireplace worked perfectly before. I was also thinking we had found our annual maintenance service, but it's not a good sign if they won't call you back once you have a problem with their work and they have your money. The maintenance appointment itself went great - on time, friendly, seemingly careful, cleaned up - but this lack of basic customer service undoes that goodwill unfortunately. read more

We needed to replace our old gas fireplace insert as it had become unreliable and the fan was noisy after two decades of use and getting a repair person out was very difficult. We had purchased that from Buck stoves but saw that Warming Trends had a sale in September unlike Buck so decided to swing by. We wanted an electrical outlet installed inside the fireplace and they directed us to a local electrician that did a nice job; Spyrka Electric. Friendly and helpful staff at the store and the stove we purchased from a company called Majestic works very well. At the lowest flame and fan setting it keeps the front part our house nice and warm. We finally got a chance to use our stove now that we are in the cold season. This stove is absolutely wonderful. It has the catalytic converter, so you get a really efficient burn, that is eligible for the 30% rebate on your taxes. (check with store or online for details as this may not be in effect once this review has aged a bit) It heats up our 3 bedroom 2 story home very nicely. It drafts very well and has no problem with keeping lit. It has many adjustments for the air intake so you can really fine tune it to get that slow burn. We got the grilling basket, yes you can grill food in the compartment under the top loading door. Highly recommended stove. read more

What an awful experience of customer service. The first mistake I made as a customer was that I asked for help with buying a fireplace. This seemed to offend the person working there. I appeared not to yet meet their standards of who they sell fireplaces too. Even though I i had already selected the fireplace I wanted and had ore-designed it, the fact that I had a few questions on my $5k fireplace seemed a huge inconvenience to them. He person working there was extremely condescending and told me on multiple times that I phrasing my questions right. The couple before me also made a mistake of asking if they could deliver which seemed to equally offend them and they left without ordering. So if you want a place with cold service, that will darken your day and leave you feeling like if only you were worthy of a fireplace you would be warmed again you've found your place. Awful. The only improvement: would have liked a wireless remote to be given with the price paid. I wasn't offered one to buy and it was needed given where the on off switch is located. After our initial visit, I made a couple of follow-up calls with additional questions. Once we purchased our fireplace insert, David referred us to an electrician who installed the needed wiring. Two weeks later the installers, Mark and Andre, arrived at our home. They were right on time, friendly, courteous, worked fast, and made a point of minimizing any dust and debris from the installation. I went in just before Christmas to get two inserts one for my girlfriends place and one for mine . Purchase was smooth and sales person was polite and knowledgeable. They came today and installed mine , they called prior to arriving to let me know they were on schedule . When they arrived they went straight to work. When they found out that they had a faulty unit they quickly went right back to the shop and grabbed a new unit and got it installed without having to reschedule . I can appreciate that for sure. Andre and Kyle were my installers both were polite and easy to deal with . They got her hooked up quickly and they worked efficiently as a team and I know what efficiency looks like cause I own a local moving company and they did great. Find another store. We bought a wood stove from Warming Trends and paid them to install it. A year later, we had them out to clean it and I asked about problems we had with it venting properly. When lighting it, it doesn't draw sufficiently to start well, and it often smokes up the room. The technician advised me that we needed six feet more pipe to raise the chimney higher above the roof line. I called the office to follow up on this recommendation, and was transferred to Ronn Christy. He wanted to know the size of the pipe, so I offered to email him photos. Upon conclusion of the phonecall, I immediately went up on the roof with a tape measure and emailed several pics of the chimney with the tape measure overlaid to show dimensions. No response. Two weeks later, I phoned and left VM. I then phoned and left a written note. Several days later, I phoned and Ronn answered. He claimed not to have received any of the messages, but while on the phone, I resent the email to the same address and he gets it then. Now he claims he can't provide any chimney pipe to fit and says I will have to get a metal shop to build the pipe for me. But no, he has no suggestions for the names of any metal shops that might be capable of doing this for us. Get this Warming Trends: you installed the damn wood stove in the first place, and this is the support you provide!?! read more

Installation was not done properly; staff was not knowledgeable. Before the installation I asked about building codes and for instructions on site preparation. They either had no idea or didn't care. A few parts were also missing from their installation (which I discovered after reading the stove manual) and when I asked about the missing components, they told me to buy them from someone else. After buying a several thousand dollar stove, I expect it to come with all the pieces! Also they gave me incorrect information about the tax credit that the stove was eligible for.
