APG Electric assessed my EV charger install arranged by Qmerit. The installation was part of the purchase agreement with Ford when I bought the vehicle. I was quoted a $790 permit fee by George from APG Electric. He claimed that the fee covered logistics, site schematics, and electric plans. He mentioned that if I want to cut cost, we could explore pulling the permit myself. Wanting to explore that option- I did my homework and learned that in addition to the $178 permit fee I also need some techinical paperwork to submit. I asked George about possibly getting the technical paperwork from them; he declined. He also mentioned that I am probably better off working with a different installer. Before I even had the chance to respond or discuss further, I got a notification from Qmerit telling me my project has been reassigned. I find this extremely unprofessional. I was simply exploring reasonable ways to lower my cost- something that George himself suggested. Instead of working with me, APG Electric backed out without a warning, leaving me to start over. I added a couple of more stars to acknowledge the effort George put into the project (i.e. load calculations), which didn't go unnoticed; I do believe George approached the work with good intent. I could not bring myself to go above 3 stars as the delay on my project (due to reassignment initiated by APG Electric) has caused quite a bit of added stress. TL;DR: APG Electric assessed my EV charger install through Qmerit and quoted a $790 permit fee. When I explored pulling the permit myself to save money (as they suggested), they reassigned my project without notice. Totally unprofessional and dismissive. read more

Great experience all around. I had an old bathroom fan that needed replacing (wiring was ancient), and these guys were right on time, super friendly, and knew exactly what they were doing. They explained everything clearly and gave me a couple of solid options without any pressure. Quality work at a fair price--I'll definitely be calling them again for future electrical stuff. read more

APG Electric are top notch. Recommended by a friend and came through several times to improve our kitchen lighting, upgrade outlets and switches, and upgraded our circuit breakers. Provided guidance along the way for projects that I could do myself to save me money. Reliable, professional, excellent communication. Will hire again when needed, for sure! read more

I do not have a lot to base my review on since communication was not at the level of our expectations and our job was not complete. Based on prior reviews it seems like they run a pretty tight ship, but in our situation, we did not get the follow up we were promised and when we did get it, it was not reasonable. read more

Very prompt and helpful. I was out all afternoon and when I got home, my power was out. When I called APG, George provided me some quick diagnostic checks. When I didn't have success, George advised my to call PG&E and have them come out and check. He then said if PG&E was not able to solve the problem, to call back in the morning and he would come out the next day! PG&E came out about 1 hour after I called, and they were able to easily fix it! I am very grateful to George, and now know who to call when I have any further electrical needs. I will definitely recommend him to my neighbors, and anyone else with any electrical needs. Thank you George, APG is the bomb! read more

George and his team installed a new electrical sub-panel in our garage. Communication and scheduling went smoothly and efficiently. George double-checked the completed work to make sure it was done to his satisfaction. His calm professionalism is a real plus. We'll work with APG Electric again in the future. read more

George was professional, communicative and efficient. Very happy with the service. I will never look elsewhere for an electrician.

I was very impressed with the service and value provided by APG Electric. I have used APG for several projects for my home. My house is over 100 years old and was last remodeled in the 1960s. APG helped to update the electrical system and has been very easy to work with. Their work is really great. read more

We called George and his team to review some prior electrical work and replace our old Zinsco (sp*) panel. APG came highly recommended from another electrician I'd known and they were up to the task! They were honest, fair, and always on time. It's getting harder and harder to find reliable contractors in the trades and APG is a shining star. Clean, professional work at honest prices, by people you can trust. Would highly recommend! read more

Excellent knowledgeable service with options whether they benefited me and didn't them or was a mutual benefit. They shared options that didn't get them a dime but may have been in my best interest. I really appreciate this kind of service. read more

I called to better understand the process for updating our electrical system (going from 100A to 200A) and George was extremely kind and thorough in sharing his opinion. Essentially, instead of seizing an opportunity to work on a project that would be over 10k dollars, he counseled us in a different direction that would not result in any immediate electrical work need. I really appreciate his honesty in his guidance! read more

His first proposal was a time and materials not a fixed bid. Then he corrected that saying it was a mistake. The corrected proposal mad it sound like he changed it to a fixed bid but when you get to the end he says he has the right to charge for extras. When I asked him what those extras might be, he wrote back that he needs to sever our ties. I as a homeowner, am posting this review for people thinking of using him, to be cautious and read his contract carefully. read more

George inspected my property for EV charge. Unit installation gave me an extremely honest and forthright opinion. Highly recommended!

My dryer stopped heating a few days ago and when the technician came to take a look, he said the problem was electrical. After opening up the panel and seeing some melting at a couple points....The fear mounted every moment as I saw the dollar signs piling up from my own speculation. I called around and it was difficult to even find someone who could come right away. George came to my rescue the day after I called. He explained everything really well and got me up and running in less than an hour! It also didn't cost me anywhere near what I thought it would and we no longer have a fire hazard. You are awesome George!! Thank you!! read more

George and Damien were skilled, pleasant, and punctual. My neighbor have used them a lot so they came recommended, and they did not disappoint! They replaced an older fluorescent ceiling light with a new led fixture. Damien even suggested a dimmer switch, because the new light was so bright, and they only charged me for the parts. This is a top-notch business, and I'm working on my list of little things to add onto the next time something big and electrical breaks...not to participle dangle. Or is it dongle? Whatever! APG gots the juice, baby. read more

I can't say enough good things about APG! They were very thorough with our electrical to our hot tub. They listened and gave options because they knew I cared about what would look best (I didn't want a bunch of wired visible but I also didn't want a bunch of Sheetrock replaced). They came up with a great solution and checked in after various stages to make sure I was still happy with the progress. Great job!! read more

I have not used the services of APG, but George came to my house today to look at my job--updating my home's 100 year old knob and tube wiring. He texted me when on the way, and arrived on time. After looking at the needed work, he considered my best interests and referred me to someone who would be better suited to my situation and budget. He also took the time to give me advice on a plan based on priorities. He did not charge for his visit, and is not making a cut on the referral. In our short time together, I felt he was honest, knowledgable, and ethical. read more

I had called a few electricians in the area without response, but when I called APG Electric, he answered on the second ring. The power went out to a few of my outlets in my kitchen a few days ago, and I had tried everything I could think of to fix it. When I called APG Electric, the gentleman was so kind and helpful, and even FaceTimed with me on his break to help me troubleshoot my problem! It was a very simple solution, but I really appreciated him being willing to FaceTime with me to check the issue out together! I highly recommend APG Electric! read more

George and Alex kicked butt on all the electrical work. We had an extensive kitchen remodel of our older home in Bennett Valley. We had them install all new lighting consisting of can lights, pendants and a chandelier, along with new circuits, plugs, dimmer and regular switches. Alex was up in the attic getting tared and feathered for most of a full day. They both work great together. Being a contractor myself I can respect the fact that they d what they say their going to do, along with being punctual. We will be hiring them again for sure. Thanks again guys...... read more

I found APG Electric from a Google search and I'm so glad I did! I am buying a home in Santa Rosa from out of town. My inspection report indicated some possible electrical problems. I've used APG Electric before but George was extremely helpful this weekend when my AC unit went out during this record breaking heatwave (a week of 100°+ temperatures). I replaced the filter, flipped the breaker for the AC, looked inside the fan unit outside to see if there was an obstruction, unplugged it to see if it would help reset it, and replaced the hallway thermostat because the display was off. It still wasn't working. It was impossible to get an HVAC company out because they were overwhelmed with appointments so I called APG Electric hoping they could help. George called me back and after giving him the rundown of what I had already tried, he told me to look at the fuse. He said the thermostat gets its power from the unit, so it could explain why the thermostat's display wasn't working. Guess what? It was the fuse. Yes! What an easy fix. I appreciate George's help since I would really prefer not to spend hundreds of dollars for someone to come out just to replace a $15 part. But even more, I was able to get my AC unit back up and running without suffering in the heat until an HVAC company could come out next week to look at it. Thanks George! read more

I highly recommend APG Electric. George and his team helped us with a difficult, older-home installation. This was not a run-of-the-mill case, and called for some creative thinking and hard work. His team proposed and executed the plan on time and on budget in spite of changing circumstances. George and his team were great to work with and talk with too, having wide experiences ranging considerably beyond electrical contracting--A real treat! read more

APG does a great job. They are extremely competent and show up when we need them. Everything we want in a contractor.

Damian was our technician and he was incredible! We had a couple other electricians from a different company come by before and they basically couldn't fix a simple wiring issue that was causing the circuit to trip. Damian diagnosed the issue in a few minutes, ran out to get the parts he needed, and completed the repair super quick! We have had no issues since Damian fixed this for us about 3 months ago (previously this was a weekly issue). So grateful for his help! read more

Very professional, efficient, and on-time. I can highly recommend. George went out of his way to find an out-of stock part, and then came out the next day to fix a circuit breaker and replace two light switches. He was very efficient in his work, and he was easy to work with. read more

I cannot say enough great things about George and APG Electric. From the initial phone call.....to showing up on time.....to an electrical job well done....to the report he emailed me....to a follow up phone he made....the service was the best I have ever experienced from an electrician. He makes all the others look like amateurs. He has a thorough knowledge of his job, but also excellent customer service skills, which many of the others lack. You need to schedule George on your next electrical job to experience the cream of the crop. I own a number of rentals, plus my primary residence, and George will be getting all my jobs from now on, in addition to the many referrals I will send his way. read more
