My first time using the station was a breeze. I had no clue what I was doing, following the on screen directions simplified the process and made it easy to navigate. My second time using the station had an issue occur, the screen froze on my payment. I contacted customer service (contact information located at each station) and was able to connect with a real person instantly. She restarted the station, ensured me my card was released from any charges and I was able to use the station. I made the mistake on entering my payment first prior to connecting the EV pump to the vehicle. Oops! The directions on the screen specify this very clearly. YOU MUST PLUG THE CHARGER INTO YOUR VEHICLE FIRST THEN ENTER YOUR PAYMENT INFO ON THE SCREEN. The charging station is illuminated the entire use of the EV pump, detailing how much time remaining until you reach 80% and 100% charge, showing you where your current charge % is, how much your card has been charged so far, how long you have been at the station and the rate of energy being delivered to your vehicle. As a guest, you have the option to enter your phone number to receive a detailed text receipt detailing your transaction. The details are easy to view from your vehicle. I used the pump for 83 min, went from 37% to 90% and was charged $15.91 total using the Ultra Fast pump.

Plaza has a small but convenient selection of shops / restaurants to hit up while you charge. My charge depends on my goal and I usually follow my manuf's suggestions. Learn more on electrifyamerica.com/pricing PROTIP: Regulars wait for an available charger by queuing alongside the dumpster. This is something the local EV community came up with. There's no signage for guidance. No employees for directions. VIBE: Usually uneventful here. Mostly filled with pleasant interactions from other EV peeps. Except today... when a Karen and a Ken were in true form. Talking AT the people in their cars while charging. I say talking AT and not TO bc they didn't approach the folks at the chargers like neighborly adults to inquire how much longer we'd be. Instead, they chose to be snarky and each had the audacity to walk in front of our cars to passive-aggressively bark snide comments. Karen shouts: "TAKE YOUR TIME" then walks away. I felt bad that her wrinkles and deep furrows really display outwardly what a miserable old bag she is. Let this wait humble and remind you that your luxury EV doesn't trump anyone's place in line. Ken musta felt empowered by this poor behavior bc he gets out of his own car, pulls his chinos up well beyond bellybutton height and decides to consign on that betch's rudeness: "ThEy'Re ALL tRyInG tO cHaRge To 100% - sO sTuPiD!" Then gets back in his car... to continue waiting indefinitely :) First off, fk your betch and the clique you claim. You ain't entitled to SHIT here at a PUBLIC CHARGER. Don't wanna queue up? Install a charger at your house. Or how about you plan accordingly? Maybe don't go during peak hours and expect those of us who WAITED OUR TURN to unplug for YOU. I was gonna stop at 80%. But that attitude made me stay till 99% cuz I had the time today. And I still left before the other 3 cars who were plugged in ahead of my arrival. It was a nice, collective unspoken FAFO moment of camaraderie. It doesn't cost anything to be kind & polite. So come correct or get corrected.

EV Charger Expert proposed installing a smart plug that would monitor demand, and should demand overtax the existing service, throttle back demand from the car charger. That cost $1550 plus a $600 smart plug. The work was done quickly and it worked for Night One. I'm happy.

Overall, the job was completed successfully, passed inspection, and avoided a costly panel upgrade. But there were also a few areas where the process could have been handled more proactively. What I appreciated: * Technical expertise & cost savings: My service panel is limited (90A), and other contractors immediately suggested an expensive underground service upgrade. Kirill performed load calculation and recommended using an Emporia Pro charger with dynamic load management. That solution allowed me to safely add both the EV charging outlet and the microwave circuit without upgrading the service panel. * Permits & documentation: They provided the required licensing, insurance documentation and handled the city permitting and inspection process. The final inspection passed without issue. * Responsiveness: Communication was generally clear via email regarding quotes, scheduling, and permit updates. Where I believe the process could improve: We encountered a major obstacle when it was discovered that the crawl space was blocked by a concrete foundation wall, preventing wire routing as originally planned. Initially, there wasn't a clear alternative proposed. I ended up suggesting routing the wiring through the ceiling instead. While the team evaluated and successfully implemented that solution, I would have preferred if alternative routing strategies had been proactively identified earlier in the process. I also want to acknowledge Erin's craftsmanship. When we ultimately routed the wiring through the ceiling, he carefully navigated around existing plumbing lines and made precise cuts to minimize disruption. The finish work was clean and well executed. In the end, the installation works well, passed inspection, and achieved the primary goal of adding EV charging without a major panel upgrade. I would recommend them for homeowners with limited electrical capacity, especially if dynamic load management is needed.
