After we bought our West County house, Galvan Roofing first helped us out after CalFire required our steep roof to be cleared of moss and debris, which was unaddressed by the prior owners. Ever since then they've abated the moss and kept things tidy. Ever since we bough the house we knew we had borrowed time on the roof. We had two minor roof leaks, both of which were around fixtures that didn't have adequate flashing or correct metal-on-metal fasteners. The second time the owner Arturo came out and did some mitigation work until we could get the new roof, which just completed. The new roof process was painless and within budget. He pulled permits quickly. His crew got the roof completed within a week, cleaning up most debris. The final permit inspection was quick. We had a redwood pergola installed a couple of summers ago and we should have had a gutter and downspouts installed at the time, however, we did not. So I reached out last week to the builder, TLC construction, and he immediately recommended Galvan Roofing. Arturo, the owner, came out personally along with one of his workers and did the gutter and downspouts install. He was able to perfectly match the color of the gutters to the gutter colors on the house. They were efficient, cleaned up after themselves, and got the job done beautifully. I posted a 5-star review when they fixed a roof leak above my kitchen, for which they charged $4500. Well, the exact same spot has sprung a leak again, 4 years later. (It states in the invoice that the work is only guaranteed for 1 year.) I called them to ask to repair it again, with the hope that they would explain to me why the last repair didn't hold. (I was prepared to pay the full price.) But no one answers the phone; all I get is their voice mail. I've left three messages in two weeks, but no one has called me back. I highly recommend Galvan Roofing! You can stop looking and just call Arturo now. I have used their services on 3 occasions. Arturo is a true professional in his field and is committed to getting the job done well, and to code. The first time I called them was for an emergency roof patch after a large redwood branch damaged my roof. The second time was for a repair of an old leak above a bedroom window that Arturo tracked down to a faulty installation of a gutter. In both cases his repairs worked and his team was efficient and professional. The third time was very recently and was a major job. I contacted Arturo to replace a small area of dryrot under a flat roof above my two car garage. The roof has a deck over it. In the process of making the repair Arturo discovered that the original roof installation (10 years prior) was faulty, and had not been installed according to code or to the construction plans on file with the city. The roof drains were not appropriate for a flat roof and they were easily blocked which caused water to back up on the roof out of view due to the deck above. The roofing material was bubbling as a result of water getting through the membrane. It had to be replaced. Arturo analyzed the issues, explained the details to me, chose the best solution, worked with the city permit bureau (not easy) and got the job done for a fair price. They gave me a fair bid, added the insulation that we asked for, fixed the issues we could not see and lead me to the right materials that have a 50y warranty and cost less than the ones I liked. We were scheduled right after the fires in 2019 so they moved the start date and my only complaint is they could have communicated that better but given the situation where the rain was coming, the fire was not out, I am going to give them a pas. But once they started, they moved heaven and Earth to get it done by Thanksgiving Everything looks great, the musty smell is gone, the house is warmer. During the storms of 2018/2019 the aging roof on our rental in Santa Rosa sprung a couple of leaks.
