Phenomenal job by Travis and his crew. Open communication and fair, transparent pricing. He went above and beyond- identified dry rot, did trim work, some painting, but most of all completely fixed our water intrusion issues. His two other crewmen were great workers as well. Punctual and cleaned up great every afternoon. He replaced a small roof at the front entrance of our house. He also identified my siding issues contributing to the various leaks and dry rot in that area. So he offered to re-shingle those walls. We were amazed at his artisan quality work, and so are the neighbors. I had an excellent experience with Travis McMillan and his crew on a 1200 sqr foot, 1st floor roof replacement. I have an older house with some special needs (like a possibly leaking skylight and some minor wood water damage) and his team were experienced and flexible plus patient across the extra communication required. The price was competitive and the work was done promptly and quickly too. DETAILS I am also very happy with the attention to detail. New vents and covers were installed and hand-painted to blend in (no ugly galvanized metal is seen). He even painted the electrical stem to match the rest which he didn't install. INSPECTION Another nice service he did was inspect my other roof sections with photos (that didn't need replacement) and drew up a quick report for my insurance company. PATIENCE Notably, I was going through a stressful family medical situation at the time and accidentally miscommunicated about how many rain gutters I needed. This caused problems with the gutter installer subcontractor since he arrived with fewer supplies than necessary. Travis and the contractor were completely understanding and went out of their way to solve the problem and get the extra work done to my satisfaction despite my annoying error. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED As far as I can tell, all code issues were addressed, the whole project looks great, and my roof no longer leaks. A+ from start to finish! Communication, Knowledge, Follow-up, Price, Attitude. All of these. Wow. I'm so thankful I found Travis McMillan of McMillan Roofing on Yelp to replace the roof on my Rohnert Park home. Communication was excellent and that's the most important thing to me on a project like this, especially with the amount of money being spent for the job. I had worked with 2 other roofers for spot repairs over the last 2 years to address damage from wind and rain on my 50 year old tile roof. They did ok work, but I didn't get a great professional attitude vibe from them. When I found McMillan Roofing, I did a test run job with them and had Travis complete a quick spot repair that was leaking water into one of the inside bedrooms. He arrived on time, completed the repair in under an hour and then surprisingly charged me less than half of his original quote due to it being less work than originally estimated. That's pretty rare these days! Seemed like a stand up guy and I was very satisfied with his work as well. I then got quotes from 3 licensed roofing companies, McMillan Roofing being one of them. Out of the 3 quotes I received, although they were all in the same ballpark, the McMillan Roofing quote was the lowest. That's not why I went with them though. It's due to the proactive professional communication, knowledgeable discussion, and good attitude. I knew I could work well with him and he didn't disappoint. Sometimes I have a lot of question. Travis explained my options in detail, advised me on things to watch out for and what he recommended for the job. In the end we went with a composite shingle and he also had to add plywood as my home did not have plywood required as code when new back in the mid-1970's. I also knew that my chimney roof area was also in bad disrepair due to wind and rain. Once he got the old roof completely removed, he was able to address the chimney area as well as a half dozen areas of hidden wood dry-rot. This was covered under a small change order, but with transparent communication along the way. Since I had this job completed just this past week in the middle of rainy season, Travis followed up with me several times a week over the month prior to schedule a full week that was rain free. I have this house rented with tenants and he also updated my tenants weekly on the planned schedule so I didn't need to call them multiple times. I also live a 2 hr drive away, so during the roof removal and re-install, Travis sent me daily photo updates via text and provided a summary of work completed. My tenants informed me that he was amazing - doing good work and being very courteous to them. The last day of the job I made the drive up and met Travis in person. He walked me through many details of the job and we had a good talk. Same great attitude. He explained that his father was a roofer and he worked with him for many years before sharpening his skills in the Union and then starting his own company.
