The company also uses large 4-hour appointment windows (8 AM-12 PM or 12 PM-4 PM) for inspections. As a landlord, I was uncomfortable sitting outside the property for hours waiting for the technician to arrive, as I did not want to appear intrusive or make tenants uncomfortable. The phone representative assured me the technician would call before arriving, but that did not happen. Overall, the experience reflected poor customer service and poor communication between departments from the very beginning. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Capstone Roofing.

They gave us very accurate estimates and also outlined what issues we might be facing once the old roof came off. They did an excellent job, showed up when they said they were, completed the job quickly, installed skylights as well and were very tidy once they left. We were very happy with the results. Two years later and we got this crazy storm and for some reason we were getting water in inside the house. It was the first time since the new roof went on that we were having any issue. We called North Bay Roofing up at 9:30 in the morning. By 1130 that morning a technician was out here looking at the situation, was able to make a determination of where the water might be coming in and did an extremely thorough and professional patch job. We have not had any leaks with the subsequent storms we've had. So appreciate North Bay being so conscientious and prompt in addressing our issue. We were happy with them two years ago. Travis walked into our patched-together 50 year old house and understood our vision for opening up the floor plan and letting more light in. He worked within our budget to draw up a quote that met our vision, while also recommending items that could easily be isolated and saved for a later project date without having to re-do any of this initial work (like refacing the fireplace, re-doing the back patio). He was patient and helpful through the architect and permitting phase and had great recommendations for local cabinet, tile and plumbing stores that allowed us to get great quality finishes within our budget. Every sub-contractor that he brought in for specialized pieces like our master shower tile, shower glass, flooring and insulation were friendly and did absolutely top of the line work. He is also very clever at figuring out solutions to curveballs that our house threw and could take our crazy Pinterest pictures and piece them together to build custom solutions like the bench in the master shower. Overall our project included a major overhaul and upgrade to our electrical panel / electrical service to the street, major plumbing upgrades, new windows, a master bathroom addition and a complete interior paint/flooring refresh and remodel including a complete kitchen remodel (with removing load bearing walls to create an open concept) and hall bath remodel. Our house of 16 years is now a sturdy, safe home we can spend the next 50 years in - Travis didn't cut any corners and understood that this needs to be our dream home that will last "generations" as he put it. He's an honest guy with old fashioned values and you just won't find a better team to take on your project.

But the biggest reason I wanted to give them 5 stars is the way they handled an issue with my roof install. When they first came out to install the roof they had just started working with a new roofing supplier that makes the panels on-site. The panel company didn't do a great job, and left the roofing crew with defective, slightly curved panels, which we didn't catch until the roof was 2/3 installed. Once it became obvious that there was an issue, the crew tried a bunch of different things to try to get them to look good, but ultimately had to pull those panels and go back to their previous supplier. Nobody could have expected that the first set of panels would come out the way they did, and I definitely don't blame them. They were as surprised as I was. But Crandall Roofing handled the situation exceptionally well. From the beginning they made sure that I knew their priority was to get the roof done right. They never tried to pull anything over on me, and I know they lost a lot of money on my job. And when I brought that up they told me that wasn't something I should be concerned with, and that their main concern was getting the roof done right. Everyone wants a job to go perfectly from the start. But this is life and sometimes you get a curveball, like a batch of bad metal. But the best companies are the ones who make sure it ends up perfect no matter what. And that's what these guys did. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely call them back when we decide to out in an ADU.

Maybe not this company's fault, but I let my HOA Silverview Terrace, Invoice 25248) know that my…read morechimney was leaking, so they had ARS come take a look because they're contracted to do the association's roofs. I didn't realize that chimney repairs weren't covered under the HOA, so when the ARS employees came and noticed an exposed opening at the top of the room, they repaired it with some stucco, which was about 2-3 hrs of work. My HOA then told me I was billed for around $1,000. I was shocked that the small exposed area costed so much, and it was also then that our HOA manager told us it was our responsibility to pay. Had I known this before, I would have tried to repair it with contractors elsewhere. I'm not saying they did a bad job, I just had no idea a roughly 1ftx1ft area of repair was going to be $1,000, and that we had to cover it. It was my ignorance as the HOA manager then pulled up the HOA handbook to say that only roofing , and not chimney repairs, were covered. I felt pretty stupid, but I figured (again my ignorance) that if my HOA elected to assist in scheduling ARS to come take a look, that it would at least be partially paid for. I tried to at least ask my HOA manager to reach out to ARS to get an itemized bill to detail what exactly costed $1,000 for the few hrs of work, and they agreed, but I never heard back from them. Next thing I know, I see the $1,000 cost added to my monthly HOA fees, with a $20 late fee added on top of it. Like I said, at the end of the day it was probably my fault, and I will make sure what the HOA covers next time. I just wish my HOA manager actually followed through on my request before simply adding the bill to my monthly fees. They said they would be talking to ARS the day they agreed too. I assume they probably thought I was being unreasonable. I'm honestly not the kind of person to complain or write these kinds of reviews, but I guess I'll just be more aware next time. It's better to not authorize people to work on your house when it is through the HOA. The fees increase almost every year, but people in HOAs just have to realize the policies and not necessarily believe the HOA is looking out for your best interest financially. Just how things go I suppose.
