The doctor is not good with kids at all. She's very brusque when dealing with my child. Also, they told me that my order for glasses would be here by the end of the month. Then when I called to see if they had come in, they tell me that they only order glasses at the end of the month, so in addition to waiting for glasses, I found out that the wait time is due to them not even putting the order in. We have been going to this office for years about 8. Previous experiences the girls that worked in the office where so nice and friendly. But the girls that are working in the office now made us really uncomfortable. The girls that I encountered now where very uncaring,very rude. told us one thing on the phone and a different thing when we came in. We always had a good experience dealing with Dr. Vu. But they said Dr. Vu is in on some Saturdays then walked away. I Tried to ask if I could get in contact with Dr. Vu. Replay was "You can maybe on a Saturday" Communicating is not what they seem to want to do! We are looking for new Optometry office. By daughter was in tears when we left.....Before I would have said 5 stars But with the staff I was dealing with this week Not even a star! But I had to. Very sad! read more

I've been coming to see Dr. Vu for almost 10 years, with & without insurance. I called & made an appointment, waited 2 weeks to see the doctor. When I called, never was I asked if I still had insurance, nor were any follow-up questions asked except a barrage of text not to forget to keep my appointment. Like everyone else, my time off is limited. I rescheduled other appointments & errands to keep this one. Unfortunately, glasses are not a luxury but a necessity for me. I've never paid more than $100 for a contact lens appointment here without insurance. Not only was I not going to see Dr. Vu but they upped their price to $134. Mind you, had I known beforehand, I may have been put off but I would have still made the appointment & financially planned accordingly. Nonetheless, they were unapologetic. When I asked for my medical record to go elsewhere, they handed me an incomplete document. Had I not have looked it over, I may not have noticed until it was too late. I came here and I was helped out and was given incorrect information on what i needed to do to get contacts. But afterwards once they saw the mistake they made they did their absolute best to help me and perfect my experience there. Honestly they pushed hard to make sure that I, the customer achieved great service. From explaining everything to me in detail to going on the phone with MY insurance just to see what they could do so I could get what I needed as fast as possible. Being in the position I am - I have learned patience. I tried to get through to them 5 times to get a copy of my eye Rx since January 2016. Finally again I called and asked for the manager, was told she wasn't available, then I asked for the supervisor not available yet was out of the office for lunch.soooooo i asked for the janitor laughing..... I asked whom I was speaking to she young lady replied "Erica". This young lady asked me to hold and not 20 seconds went by she picked up again she had my file and got the needed information and VOILA - I have an email with my Rx. Her kindness, attitude and professionalism is one to be remembered - she handled it from start to finish 10 minutes tops ~ THANK YOU ERICA and to the supervisor Esmeralda - you ladies ROCK. Even when the waiting room is crowded and you are next in line... the staff there is on a positive roll.... My problem with this place started after my consultation. I was told that it would take two weeks to get my glasses and it was more than this. Around the three week mark I called just to ask if they were in and right away they put me on hold for such an extremely long time that I just hung up. A few days later I went in once again just to ask if the glasses were in and the girl had me sign in. I wasn't even sure if they had arrived that's all I wanted to know..what if they weren't there and I had to wait long. While I waited a girl by the name of Esmeralda was talking to a patient while obnoxiously chewing her gum and popping it. This was very unprofessional and she didn't seem to care. Then the phone rang and this same girl goes to the waiting area while on the phone with this patient talking about that persons insurance really loud. Then another girl finally came out with my glasses and they didn't fit. They had to get tightened twice. I finally left and the joke came about 4 days later when they called me to tell me that my glasses had gotten in. Lmfao this place is a joke and I will never be back and don't recommend it to anyone I only give a one star because there is no way to not give one. read more

So since I've been house hunting in the area I decided to try a new Optometrist... I came across this location thru Yelp. I called in and the lady on the other end said the insurance number was not correct that I needed to call back as she was not pulling anything with numbers provided and was unable to schedule a visit. So I called back the next day, same thing, luckily Erika answered and asked me to give her a couple of minutes (going above and beyond) as she will search for my VSP/member number with my SSN (not asked on first call) and will call me back. Shortly after, Erika returned the call, and provided me with my member insurance number and scheduled my appointment. AMAZING! My visit (5/30) came around, Esmeralda S. the Office Manager greeted me; felt welcomed and took me in without having to wait!!! She did the initial testing and helped me with frame selecting. I was looking for a warm tortoise style and she delivered. She showed me some similar styles from the floor and she ordered additional ones for more of a variety and selected one via photo text! Received a call 6/13 that glasses are ready for pick up!!! So in less than 15 days I went in, selected, ordered, and ready! Thank you Esmeralda for the amazing customer service and for going above and beyond. YOU ROCK!!! read more

My family has been coming here for years. However this year the office staff is completely new and very incompetent. They book appointments on days they are closed, quote the wrong prices,and when you phone they put you on hold and forget about you without any apologies afterwards. We have now started going to A.V. Optometry were the staff actually knows what they are talking about. It's a shame because we really liked Dr Vu but cannot handle dealing with the office workers she has this year. In my opinion I believe they are going to close the Palmdale office and focus all of their business at their new Lancaster office. I would strongly advise AGAINST going to this office!!! read more

The doctor was great but office staff is horrible. When I went to pick up my glasses they just handed them to me with no attempt to fit them. When I asked to be fitted the girl took them into the other room then came back and said "How's this". They were no better and after repeating this several times I gave up. No one ever attempted to even look behind my ears or check the fit on my nose. I came home and called and asked Dr. Vu to call me back and a very rude girl asked "What about" and I said it was doctor/patient and left my phone number. After three days of leaving messages and no return call I gave up. I had to pay another optometrist office to properly fit my glasses. My wife and I will never use this office again. read more

Wasted my time & efforts....Had referral from L.A. Care Vision Plan for my needed glasses. L.A Care covers eye exam and glasses up to $200 so, since they are close by to me, chose them as vision providers. BIG mistake ! Maybe I would have obtained better treatment if I was paying $800 for specs. (and maybe a mere $200 labels me as a 2nd class customer). Initial eye exam went OK, but 2 weeks later when my bifocals were ready, everything went downhill from there. Bifocals were so poorly designed, I could not use them. Switched prescription to single strength style, but they arrived with blemished lenses covered with fingerprints. They offered to redo them, and the next lenses were even worse. Cloudy streaks, spots, scuffs; obviously defective cheap plastic lenses, maybe seconds, sold as premium for people on a budget. Totally unusable... I just had a NEW patient appointment on 3/18/16, I waited for very little time, the gentleman who checked me in was polite and descriptive as far as what my insurance covers, He then immediately took me back for the blow air in your eyes part and informed me that the Doctor was in with a patient doing a thorough exam on a patient and it would probably be about a 30 minute wait and was very apologetic. I waited about 15 minutes was called in by the Doctor and I gave her my complaints of having blurry vision while driving home from work after working in front of a computer and had not checked my 4 year old prescription glasses. To my surprise she checked me and said your prescription has not changed so you don't need to purchase any glasses but she recommended this anti reflective lens that could help. My jaw dropped I was like wow an honest place that is not here to milk you or your insurance. Then she proceeded to take me to a very nice female who gave me prices and styles and was very helpful. Bottom line is I was super Amazed and comfortable with the service I got here at Palmdale Optometry I will definitely be coming back and referring friends and family. read more
