Be prepared as I waited over an hour to be seen by the doctor. Doctor was nice but if an appointment is at a certain time, the doctor should see you at that time or no more than 15-20 mins would be acceptable. My experience today was worse than going to the DMV. Really wish it didn't take so long for an exam. This will probably be my first and last time going to this doctors office. I even got there 5 minutes before my appointment to fill out paperwork. read more

First of all, I had left a bad review previously, but after bringing my concerns to Dr. Tarek Mohana, he personally took care of the issue. He went out of his way to find other contact lenses I could wear while waiting for the trial lenses his wife prescribed -- the same brand I've been using for the past four years. Had my appointment cancel because the they no longer want to do appointment at 5 even though they are the one who schedule it. Then later the story change to Dr. have a family emergency (a week before hand (Not sure how that's emergency). More like scheduling issue on their end. Staff was not helpful at trying to accommodate for a new appointment ever though they are canceling on you. Earliest appt offer is almost 3 weeks out or drop everything tmr to go in last minute notice. read more

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Avoid this place! Terrible service to get service! Went to this office inside of Costco for myself and my 3 kids after making an appt almost 2 weeks prior and driving 1 hr the day of the appt. Well, low and he behold, I was denied due to the office "possibly" being out of network. This is not even the issue. The issue is the lack of proactiveness and concern the Staff showed. 1. They booked an appt without verifying my benefits prior to my arrival. Not even 1 hr before my arrival. 2. They made 0 contact with me prior to my appt to ask if they can obtain the required info to check my benefits 3. The system used to verify benefits closes at 5pm. The office had appts for myself and my children at 4:45, 5:15, and 5:30. Im not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I do have common sense. If there are 3 new patients, benefits have not been verified and there is a possibility a call may be needed to verify those benefits, wouldnt one have the decency to call before 5pm?! Im just thinking logical. But I guess I was the only one who cared about my own time. After being there for 30 mins, taking my children out of school early, driving 1 hr. I went through all of that couldve been avoided if someone used their cranium. All that being said, not one person, not one single person showed empathy or fixed their mouth to apologize. Sick. Gross. Poor service!!! Absolutely terrible to say the least bit. What I did get was a ton of excuses to send me on my way. Avoid this place! read more

My family & I have been seeing both Dr.Pedarsani & Dr. Mohana at the Lancaster Costco location for many years now. They both have taken great care of us. They are both so very nice and patient. The doctors are so friendly and easy to talk to. They put you at ease right away. The quality of care they give and their expertise in their medical field is exceptional! I had to wait for an app for over 30 days. This I understand, as many places have a back log due to being shut down cause of COVID. However when I arrived to my appointment 10 minutes early, they were already helping another customer. A small line had gathered, and instead of taking the next appointment, they took the next customer in line, who didn't have an appointment until almost 45 minutes after mine. It's now about 25 minutes past my appointment time, so I poke my head in and tell them I'm still waiting. They spend the next 14 minutes trying to find my insurance information, which we had already provided over the phone a month ago when we set the appointment. I have small children with me, I can't wait almost an hour just for you to figure out how to run your business. I won't be returning. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Going to the optometrist has always been anxiety inducing for me, but Dr. Mohana immediately put me at ease with his knowledgeable, attentive care. He thoroughly explained all treatment options and took the time to answer all of my questions (and I'm known for asking lots of questions)! In one word...OUTSTANDING! Not only is Dr. Mohana an exceptionally caring and personable optometrist (he will surely lift your spirits while you visit with his uber friendly demeanor), but every aspect of his office and staff is a testimony to professionalism and true customer care. My girlfriend accidentally cut her cornea on the eve of a major holiday, and Dr. Mohana not only took the time to squeeze her into his busy schedule, but also made sure to reassure and calm her while concurrently providing a clear diagnosis of the situation. Dr. Mohana's office is conveniently located within Costco, so you also have the added benefit of getting some shopping done (or "browsing" the samples) while you visit. read more

It was my first time at SpecialEyes. It's is an Optometry group located inside Costco but not a part of it so I wasn't sure about the quality of care. I had the best Optometrist I have ever had in my long life. Dr. Marshak was so very thorough and pleasant. He took all the time in the world to patiently explain the process and the results. He made excellent suggestions for care of my sight and answered all my questions. He is an amazing professional and such a pleasant man. I can't recommend Dr Marshak enough. Outstanding. Inexpensive and you do not need to be a Costco member just let them know at the door. The only issue was getting through to make the Appt. No one responded to my message on answering machine so I called again. So very glad I did read more

Not good at all, this place has a sign saying they open at 10 am, the worker shows up at 10:15 am ,and dr. Nasim Pedarsani shows up at 11:00 am carrying food in her hands, and they told us we have a waiting at least 2 hours, in spite we were the first one in line ,no respect to customers ,and unprofessional in doing business. read more

This place is the greatest for exams! Inexpensive without sacrificing the quality eye exams that I have paid 3 times as much to get. Super-friendly docs and convenient to my normal errand routine. They take walk-ins too, so I don't have to schedule 3 weeks out. Two thumbs up! read more

I highly recommend going to see Dr. Mohana. The doctor is friendly, professional, skilled, and informative. I had fun during my exam, which I didn't expect. I opted for the retinal photography. I was able to my optic nerve in the photo and the circulatory structures in my eye. That was cool. Also, he knows what he is doing. My vision has deteriorated a bit, but he was able to quickly hone in on the prescription for each eye. I think the entire visit only took about 15 minutes. He was quick and efficient, but never rushed. He answered all of my questions. I wish every physician I saw was like this. Note that the optometry practice is not Costco, so while it is in Costco, right next to where you can order glasses, they aren't Costco or the people who you get the glasses from - so you can get your prescription there and take it elsewhere if you choose. I will be returning here annually! read more

Been here before and they're great. But today was just not good. Came here because my last contact ripped and I needed an emergency pair so I thought I'd pop in for my prescription since I've seemed to misplaced it. Saw them leaving for lunch so I said ok, we'll kill the hour. It's been more than an hour and they're not back. I have a lot of stuff to do today and this is not ok. Edit- removed a star because It's been 15 minutes and they're still not open after the hour. This is a HUGE inconvenience. I will have to write more about the experience after they're back from "lunch" ---edit after theyre back The employee at that time gave major attitude to the costco employees after several people were waiting for them to open. The costco employees were taking heat from other customers but the girl who went for lunch had the nerve to have attitude. She claimed she had a flat tire, don't know the truth but she could have at least communicated the matter with a simple phone call to the optometry department. Don't you think? read more

Good Morning everybody, This place is not good customer service at all. At counter receptionist just play with i pad at the office hours.And doctor inside just she finish with each customer in a 5 minutes and even she doesn't ask anything about previous test results and current eye test results about differences or any explanations or suggestions for better eyes or anything asking questions to clients or any thing ...not at all. I haven't had an eye exam in over two years, (I had yet to find an optometrist I liked) and I wear contacts with a very high astigmatism. I was down to my last pair, with an expired prescription so I had to go get an exam. I decided to go to Costco since a friend of mine told me they had an optometrist in store. At first I was a little nervous, but it ended up being the best optical office I've ever been to. Dr. Mohana seemed very well educated, gave me a very thorough exam, and even gave me a couple sample pairs of contacts for free to take with me. My glasses frame broke ("fishing line" that holds in one lens broke free and dropped the right lens) and I needed a quick eye exam and new lenses. Wow, am I glad I went to Costco and met Dr. Mohana! First, his nurse performed a Glaucoma check just as I arrived. Then in his private office, he took my old glasses, measured them, and performed the exam. He wrote the new prescription and explained how this script was different from my old ones in just a few minutes. He also wrote a script for reading glasses, as I did not want bifocals. His office inside Costco is NOT a Costco operation, so I could pay with any credit card ($49). I opted for him to dilate my pupils and have a look at my retinas for an extra $20. Fast, fast, and easy! Then, I stepped out to the Costo operated Lens and Frame store where I not only found very reasonably priced Kirkland Brand Frames, but, those ladies fixed my old broken frames for free. I walked out with functioning glasses, and my "new script" glasses were ready in three days. (They advertised two to three weeks, but actual performance was far better.) Who needs insurance with this type of operation? Not me, and although I have Davis Vision, Dr. Mohana is not in their network, However by the time I was done, including two frames, and with transition lenses with anti-glare coating, I paid less than my "out of pocket" payments when I last did the same thing somewhere else with the insurance. (I'm telling you... insurance is a racket, and if nobody had it, it wouldn't be necessary. I'm only buying high deductible insurance to cover a massive accident, and view it much like automotive insurance... hoping to never need to use it but knowing I have coverage to prevent bankruptcy in a high-cost emergency.) read more
