Well, my boyfriend finally convence me to get a tanning package and recommended this place so highly. I signed up and I got my first 10 minute tan. Hang my belongings in the hook, Time is up and my necklace wasn't anywhere in the room. It's a small room room and looked everywhere. Approach one of the employees (do not know her name) and explain what happened, this individual didn't show any type of interest in my situation. We requested to get contacted if they ever find my necklace in the room. ( because the room gets clean up after use) and we never got a call from this place. My boyfriend walk in several times asking if they found my necklace and again, whoever is in duty, shows a lack of interest in helping customers. I am not accusing anyone here but it seems strange my necklace was NEVER found. I thought they would be more concern and conscious of the situation, show more interest in helping but nothing. i've been coming here for a year and i've always had a good experience. it's a regular tanning salon and is worth the money. there is an employee who is always bubble and kind i believe her name is kat. she is always so so helpful and welcoming. give kat a raise lol over all id would recommend here read more

I feel very uncomfortable coming in here. The manager, or whoever she is, Madison, makes me feel like I'm not welcome. Whenever I walk by the front desk, it smells like alcohol. I heard her speaking about me or another customer and it wasn't kind. I don't expect much since COVID is going on, but I do expect the beds to be clean 100%. Every time I come in, the beds have smudges. I also thought I had tanning dollars but apparently they just disappeared. A girl with short dark hair and glasses told me my tanning dollars expired, but another girl said they don't. So where is my money going? I already pay a lot for my membership so I don't know why my rewards or tan dollars are being taken away. This store has gone downhill since before COVID. At least the beds were clean then and the staff was polite. I do not recommend this salon anymore. If you want to go to a PBT, go to the Kingstowne one. I love their staff! Mother in law came in today to set up tanning everything was going well until Holly decided to charge her too much on her credit card. When my mother in law tried to correct her on over charging is when Holly had a huge attitude changed from pleasant to extremely rude. When it came to actually going in the bed to tan she only allowed her 7 min for a level 3 bed which didn't even give it time to warm up. My mother in law decided that she wanted to take back the tanning lotion she was encouraged to by but didn't use. Holly seemed like taking back the lotion was too much of an inconvenience to her so she refused to do so since it was "too much of a hassle" Nothing against this establishment just this specific employee read more

My experience with the staff was very displeasing & unprofessional. It seemed the young lady I was dealing with, would have rather been doing other things. which is understandable but her displacement should not have been taken out on the customer(s). Essentially you guys are a bunch of misleading crooks! I spent 208.00 for product and packs of tans, not knowing it had a shelf life because the one who sold it to me didn't tell me, otherwise I wouldn't have spent the money on it. I only had the chance to use not even half of the tans I purchased with my money!!! And you're telling me I can't use the rest of it that I bought because it expired?!! It's not a perishable item like food so why treat it as such?! I would have been inclined to continue business with you in the future but no one behind the counter even tried to remedy the situation once I got there. You have a poor business practice and it's very misleading, I don't appreciate it and I'm sure no one else would either if they were in my situation. I'm disappointed in this place's very strictly enforcing the 24 hour tanning policy. I have been to other palm establishments where they also had the 24 hour policy, but it was more an enforcement of "once a day tanning". So when I showed up here at 3pm I was then told I would have to wait till 4:58. Come on, is 2 hours really going to make that difference of whether or not it is safe for me to tan? Simply changing it from an exactly set 24 hours into a "once a day" policy you then still are effectively having a 24 hour policy but without screwing over customers. Since I've already paid I will finish out July but I won't be renewing my membership. read more

If you find yourself on the casting call list of Casper's ghost, I'd highly recommend hitting this joint up. I've been to enough tanning places (yeah yeah... wrinkles and cancer, I know...) to know that there's not all that much to write home about, but when the Tanning Salon employees start singing when you walk through the door, I make exceptions. By far the cleanest tanning salon I've found in Woodbridge and for a dedicate germaphobe, it's a compliment I rarely hand out. The staff is efficient and I don't think I've waited more than 3 minutes for anything there. They even supply the goggle thingies (which I would otherwise lose) saving me a bundle and they offer a myriad of different bed / tanless options. Most of all, the changing rooms are actual rooms rather than just some slim ass extended door that touches your buns whenever you try to turn around (heh... graphic, but hey, It's my review damnit!). 5 stars and 2 well tanned thumbs up. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Rough week, my baby just got released from the hospital and my gf offered to take me on a tan break while the boys watched the kids! I left Dumfries with her and no wallet because I knew I had a tan credit. My peeps in the Alexandria location had just told me on my last visit that I could swap out my last spray for a bed. Nope! Lake ridge said that my package had expired three days earlier and they wouldn't swap it anyway.... I'm a loyal customer for YEARS!! Since 2011! I got no wallet cuz it's obvious I thought I had a tan! And you can't help me, Julie??????? Nope! They said there's NOTHING they can possibly do. I had to get my gf to pay for a WALK IN TAN RATE! And they had the nerve to ask me if i still wanted the $80 product I was asking about. Bottom line- I'll never go back to Lakeridge. I'm actually on the fence of returning to Palm Beach at all. You never know what people are going through. This manager had a chance to make a positive difference and she blew it. Lost my respect and lost a customer! Julie, do you think that's what PBT had in mind when they left you in charge, honey? Update: can't change the original review because that mess happened, lol. Real life. But, after I completed the email survey from my visit I was contacted by the district manager, Amy. She was extremely apologetic and willing to throw some comps my way to use with my Peeps at the KINGSTOWN location! All in all I'm happy with that. I know DM's cannot control what their GM's do. So I am just happy they attempted to right the problem. Hopefully for the new GM at Lakeridge this was a "learn the hard way" kind of situation. Just a quick update- I still love this place and the girls in it! As one Yelper put out the turn over rate is quite high, but, so far, everyone I have encountered has been really nice and welcoming. The place is always clean and product plenty. In my last review I reported how the beds with the capability weren't hooked up to the music function. That has since change which is cool. The preprogrammed music isn't actually that bad at all but you can use your own external device if you want too. The "Mother Ship" is supposed to have an 'Aroma' function that is supposed to spray an aroma of some sort but I have never experienced it; it never works when I use the bed. No big though. The Palm Beach Darling, Danielle is the new manager in Manassas and she is amaaazing! I love her! Everyone loves her! She is so cheerful, professional, knowledgable, respectful, and takes her job serious. I trust everything that comes out of her mouth! My biggest complaint right now would be that they no longer let them play music in the salon. That completely SUCKS beyond any suck factor I know. It makes it a bit depressing when you walk in the door - you walk in to silence, or that kooky damn infomercial that plays 24x7 on the wall TV. If I got to experience the Aroma once, AND, if they let them play music again, I would most likely change the four stars to five. read more

Their Fb was doing a deal where you get free tan for liking their page.. this location denied me saying i used a free tan when i first signed up earlier that year. I contacted the company and they said they corrected the issue.. and for me to come in again But every time i go there with any coupon offer i would get a bite of "coupons are beneath us" attitude. they have very limited sunless rooms.. i waited over an hour bc the 2 girls ahead of me didn't know how to operate it or something? read more

I am a tanning professional, I have been tanning for 12 years (back before the laws were put in place), and previously a manager at a tanning salon. I have lived back and forth between Boston and Atlanta, and I am a member at 2 salons in Atlanta, one being Palm Beach Tan. So when I went to visit a friend in VA for a quick weekend trip, I was extremely happy to find a PBT in the area. The interior is very nice, set up the same as most others. There are a ton of rooms and they offer spray tans as well. The manager at the front was not as friendly as the other girls. The only reason that this place gets 4 stars instead of 3 is because they offer the Ergoline Classic 650 bed, which is a level 3 bed. No matter where you go, or what levels there are, that bed is THE BEST bed for color, especially for someone who is pale and takes a longer time to get color. For those that get color easily, it gives you great instant color, especially if you use a lotion. Speaking of lotions, they have a really great selection of the best brands and high quality. Tanners shouuld always use a lotion, so do some research! Usually the more you pay for it, the better it is, and that is speaking from someone who has been a tanner for 12 years and working in the tanning industry for 1. I got a great price for the spray tan but ONLY because I am a member in Atlanta; the new customer prices were too high. read more

Updated since last review in 2012... I have remained a member of this tanning salon and still enjoy it. The beds and the salon are always clean. The staff turnover is really high (or seems to be) but everyone is very friendly. In the 3 years I have been going (weekly during peak seasons) I have never encountered a rude person once. From the other reviews it looks like I'm in the minority on that one, and not sure why, but I felt it worth updating my review so others knew that you're not walking into a place where the staff scream at you. I have been coming to this location for over a year and I have received great customer service from everyone working here and I have never had any cleanliness or sanitation issues with any of the rooms or bed. All of the girls here have been really nice and Madison especially is always cheerful when I come in and lets me know about the specials that are running and is so helpful in answering any questions I have. I was charged a $10 fee for my card being rejected. I had to switch my card on file because I received a new card number from the bank due to a dispute on a fraud charge. Although small, this fee was never disclosed when I signed up. In fact, I never have received a copy of my contract. Great beds and a clean establishment but these fees should be disclosed to customers. read more

I have never tanned before, and just went in this morning to sign up for a membership. The store is bright and clean. It's like all the other locations, which is a good thing. But the guy who works here is unhelpful and just not friendly at all. Well, he wasn't with me. I'm always friendly and kind to customer service people. This guy is standoffish and won't smile or give suggestions when you ask. He acted like I was stupid for not knowing the bed types. He didn't warn me the tanning bed was going to spray water all over me either. He's just uncool. I heard him being nicer to some other women so maybe he just doesn't like new people or some other thing. Not sure. I felt uncomfortable the whole time because of it no matter how hard I tried to be open and friendly. I'll stick to other locations. read more

After an extremely displeasing week at another local tanning salon, I decided to try somewhere else.. now maybe my expectations were set too low giving the horrible service I received elsewhere but I LOVE coming here. On my first night Danielle was the only person working and had a little bit going on. I'm a very patient person and I didn't have to wait long, I explained to her that I was new and she showed me a tour every level bed before talking any pricing and she was extremely knowledgeable, telling me which beds were best for what. I felt very welcomed and much more comfortable, and going back each time has been the same. The only reason I am not giving five stars is that there is no music playing its just quiet and I hate that, its an easy fix I just bring my phone and headphones but it would be nice if it wasnt completely silent all the time. HORRIBLE! Being new to town ive been greated with friendly smiles and hellos. This tanning salon was the first place i ever experienced rude service and snotty people. The brunette at the counter has never put a smile on her face in all the times ive been there her demeanor was as if she just smelt trash that had been sitting in the sun for a week . Ive worked in customer service and for me its everything. If im paying the price i am and experincing a 24 hr strict, ridiculous tan policy i expect you to at least pretend your happy. The environment was horrible. But the service was the worst. I will never be back to this tanning salon. And frankly ill drive 20 minutes out of the way for better prices and service that actually matters. read more

I started an account here not due to convenience in location, but because it's one of the only tanning salons in Woodbridge. The girls working behind the counter are knowledgeable and friendly, however they are very pushy when trying to sell their tanning products to you (they see your purchase history on screen when you check in). When a simple "No, thank you" should suffice, they launch into lectures on why you should buy this and the consequences of not using lotion. Beds are clean and you have a number of different options, such as diff. power beds and spray tanning. Expect a 10-15 minute wait if you visit during rush hour (5-7pm). I have no technical complaints, but feeling antagonized to buy products every time I walk in causes me to resent them. I will be discontinuing my service after this month. read more

PBT in Woodbridge is a good location. Love coming here because it's always clean and because of Caitlin she has a great personality always bubbly and always has a smile. If you are a frequent tanner like me Caitlin always remembers her customers which is an A+ in my eyes. Although not everyone here has a great personality Caitlin makes up for it. Friendly staff, clean and bright. I have done Mystic and the beds all equipment is great. If you have questions about packages or services the staff is there to help, not push a sale. I'm a seasonal customer and so it helps when you can freeze your account to reap the rewards later. It's also very easy to cancel. Again, they are great! read more

This is one of the best places to do sunless tanning. The diamond membership, while yes expensive, very much worth the price. The people are very helpful and actively participate in your tanning plan. All in all, this is the best place to go if you want a safe, clean looking tan. read more

I'm a customer at Palm Beach Tan and I read a review from a Sarah L . The woman seems to go on the attack of one employee. Which is so ridiculous. I myself and others have been treated with above and beyond customer service. The woman mentioned the employee Madison who is very knowledgeable about the equipment and supplies also her customer service is above anything I have seen in years. She is a wonderful asset to your company. I wouldn't have decided to be a regular customer of it wasn't for her and the staff at this store. The ladies here are wonderful. This one customer seems to be not all there . I've read all her reviews and seems like she is set on attacking one employee and not the business sounds like she has a whole other agenda. This review is LONG overdue especially since they are no recent reviews on here. I stepped in last night as I arrived early for my massage next door. When I walked up to the counter I was greeted by an abrupt "Whats your last name"! I then explained that I had never been here before. The girl said " Oh, ok well then you should sign up for the diamond membership." I said, " What is that? This is my first time here." She then said that it was the best packaged membership that they had to offer otherwise I would have to pay $22 for one visit. To make a long story short I tanned for 5 minutes, she never offered to walk me back there and show me how to turn on the machine either. I paid the $22 but not before she handed me a sample packet of tanning lotion and told me it was $14.50! After I came out of my tan I waited for further assistance at the counter. Hoping someone would explain to me when I should come back, if they thought I tanned long enough. Something! The girl looked at me and said " Whats Up?". SERIOUSLY????? WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Thanks for ruining my first tanning experience oh and by the way I'm never coming back! I said to her that I didn't know if she needed or wanted to talk to me and she said NO..... This tanning salon is better than most. I rate them in the middle because I expect certain things; beds that are cleaned quickly, a friendly greeting, etc--and those things I do receive at this salon. HOWEVER, they only get a 3 star rating based on price. They are so incredibly high on their memberships. I know this is a company decision, not this particular store, but every time I pay my membership I cringe and double think if I should stick with this company. read more
