Cute little restaurant. Parking can be a bit difficult. The restaurant itself was very open and I was greeted immediately upon walking in the door. The server was friendly and walked me through some menu items to make a choice from. Order was taken quickly and was made within about 10 minutes. The wraps were hearty and had a great taste. Very filling. I got the Cali Club & Chicken Salad for my son for takeout. Wraps were so heart we were able to spit them and have half of each. I also ordered the Hawaiian Breeze. Went here because I am recently vegetarian. They were one of the first places to pop up as a vegetarian restaurant. By NO means are they Vegetarian only, but the veggie options were wide to choose from and tasted AMAZING. The servers were really nice, and they had live music. This a cool lil spot off libbie! Right across from the libbie market. It wasn't busy in there at all. It actually was dead in there for it to be a Saturday mid day. I ordered a Caesar wrap which good but had rice which was interesting! Pretty average wrap. They don't have fries or anything just chips. But it's always good to try local places which Richmond is full of. The service is good which is the main thing for me.. lol. And then the food.. although the tap water is definitely that. I have been coming here since my days as a UR Spider (more than 15 years so we won't get into specifics). During those 4 years it was a great place to pick up a quick and healthy dinner. I live in MD but am in RIC 2-3 times a month. I make sure that at least once a month I come in and get a bowl of tomato Parmesan soup and a palani club. A staple that I am happy to say tastes just as good as it did when I was at University. In a world where restaurants come and go - it is comforting that a place like this can remain and still make consistently good food. Whether I'm eating in or on the run, Palani Drive is my favorite place to grab a quick wrap at lunch time. The fillings are inventive and plentiful. Most often, I got for the Hummus Tabouli Wrap: hummus, tabouli, cucumbers, mixed greens and greek dressing are wrapped in a spinach tortilla. The ingredients are fresh, filling and thoughtfully combined. Other selections span meat and vegetarian and include the Spicy Thai Peanut with rice, black beans, spinach, spicy peanut sauce, tomatoes, scallions and crumbled peanuts in a chili tortilla; the Jambalaya with grilled chicken, rice, creole sauce and spinach in a sundried tomato tortilla; and even a Fish Taco wrap with grilled tilapia, lettuce, tomatoes, jack cheese, salsa and sour cream in a flour tortilla. You can also get a half wrap with a cup of soup. There's also a big coffee and smoothie selection. Banana lovers have to try the Funky Monkey: banana, peanut butter, chocolate, vanilla yogurt and skim milk - yum! Dinner features an expanded menu with entrees that skew toward Asian and Mexican and quesadillas. I've had the simple grilled chicken quesadilla with grilled chicken and jack cheese served with rice, salsa and sour cream. It was basic but solid. If you eat in, check the chalk board behind the bar for changing nightly drink specials like $1 off margaritas, beer specials or discounted wines by the glass. Inside the restaurant is cozy with booths and a counter. You place your order at the register, pay, grab a seat and when the kitchen calls your name you pick up your order. I have eaten here a couple of times when I had something to do at the University of Richmond, which is close by. I decided to give it a try after seeing a review by my friend Matt. While Yelp categorizes this as a vegetarian place, it certainly offers plenty to those of us who are not. It had grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, gouda cheese, grilled green applies, raw spinach and sherry walnut dressing. Sounds amazeballs, right? Not so much. It was reminded me of a drier, blander version of thanksgiving, and the apples lacked the texture I was looking for. It wasn't bad, however, and it came out with everything on it that it was supposed to have. And I'm sure it was healthy! I paired my wrap with a cup of the soup of the day- spicy corn chowder- which was pretty good, nothing too special. The best part of my meal was my $3 mimosa- great price for the size of the glass! Mi madre ordered the Palani grits, which was also just ok. I think it also sounded better than it tasted. I tried it and with all the egg and cheese, it reminded me of a western omelette you'd get from Denny's. The prices here are VERY reasonable. For all of our food plus my mimosa and coffee, it came out to just over $20. I also noticed that most of the smoothies are under $4. I would consider coming back here sometime for dinner, a smoothie or happy hour. Again, the bar is the nicest part of the interior and it looks like a great place to come right after work when the weather is nice and there's a good game on the TV. read more

Great place and even better food! Came here because my daughter just finished her freshman year of college and like many freshman's, they come back vegetarians. Not easy finding a place for her to be able to eat actual food, but this place had a great menu with lots of selections for her and her meat eating dad. I ordered the Cali Cobb($7) wrap to-go and this place is about 10-15 minutes from my office. My wrap arrived with NO SOG which is huge for me. I hate soggy wraps/sandwiches/soggy anything. This wrap is huge and so yummy with avocado, bacon, cheese, turkey, spinach, ranch all wrapped up in a sundried tomato tortilla (my fave). Have been there only once before, had a good experience, but last Saturday morning me, my wife, and kids decided to revisit hoping for a great breakfast. Not so much! Very disappointed. After 15 minutes and no acknowledgement, I peered through window in order to identify life....yes, with my face pushed against the glass, I identify a life form....but what's that I see...oh, it's the staff laughing at me as if I'm a fish in a fish bowl. Uhmmmm, did that prompt anyone to come out or unlock the door.....NO! So, when our server finally arrived....oh what a joy....NOT! My iPad has more personality. Anyway, we went there because my kids loved their pancakes....no more....pancakes off the menu . Ok, roll with it. Food arrives, kids need catchup. Tic toc tic toc....never comes back. I go inside and get it myself....lame! So that could just be a bad server.....but food was bland, chicken was dry and over cooked, and overall just not tasty. Won't never go back ...not worth it!
