Update is over-due. The last time I was here to splurge on a ton of vegan eats for my whole family on my birthday, was the best experience I've had at China Panda. The man behind the counter was SUPER friendly and helpful. The food (so much food!) was ready in 15 minutes, topped off with extra fortune cookies. (Yes, I told him it was my bday, embarrassing I know but hey.) When I came to pick it up, he had everything in a box and carried it to my car for me. Once home we enjoyed a top notch meal with everything being perfectly scrumptious. We got mock beef & broccoli, mock lemon chicken, mock orange chicken, sautéed green beans, among other vegan dishes. My favorite item is the MOCK HAM FRIED RICE, but all of it is good! YES: vegan friendly

The food was awesome. They have a vegetarian menu, though it's not totally clear what's vegan. We made educated guesses, based on what a vegan influencer posted. We got hot and spicy mock beef, general tso's mock chicken (this was hands down the best), kung pao tofu (amazing), and veggie and bean curd soup (this wasn't something I would recommend). The prices were very reasonable for big portions. If you're looking for ambiance or fancy dining, this won't be it. There was only 1 table and it's not clear to me that you can eat in. So I would stick to takeout!

I paid around $10 for this and it was a TON of food-- I ate on it for two meals. Great sweet and should chicken and the fried rice was some of my favorite. Will definitely return.

The food is flavorful and these take away containers are packed to the brim. The service is swift, consistent, and on top of things. We order various mock options and every-time the order is correct and completely together, with no items ever missing. Such a treat!

Everytime I come here it is always delicious. I dont know why people let some rude experiences from others impact their mood for how yummy food can be. I personally only ever have good experience with everyone I dealt with here. But seriously there are different customs. I come from a family not from the US and just because someone doesn't try and make you feel like royalty doesnt mean they don't have delicious food!! That being said. As a vegetarian their menu is straight up BANGING and for the prices its sometimes surreal. Most hipster places throughout Richmond will charge much more for dishes like these, and the portion sizes are large. This is chinese American to the fullest, so it is super catering to that crowd. Vegetarian wontons are hard to find, and these are vivid green and so yummy, fried to perfection. The crispy eggplant may not be the healthiest option but the garlic sauce is so thick, there is a balance of sweetness and umami and its dynamite! Seriosuly it is hard to go here and not get this dish. The mock sesame chicken is perfect, yo seriously their recipe for their imitation meat is delectable. And everything tastes fresh. The vegetable lo mein may seem thinner than other places but it is tasty! Right amounts of flavor, not overly saucy. Real good. The string beans have a kick and it is perfect! Id let it kick me all damn day because of the pieces of garlic and pepper. Delicious! All in all. I can't speak on the non vegetarian menu. But try branching out! Because this food is so good.

I ordered the mock orange chicken and steamed veggies, it was a whole lotta food for a good price. I've never had anything to fill the orange chicken void in my heart before until this. 10/10 recommend, my food was ready and I was in and out quickly with my delicious food! Staff was also friendly and I can tell their food is cooked with love.

I was craving Chinese food and decided to order from here since I hadn't tried them in awhile and I'm so glad I did! I ordered the sweet and sour chicken with crab rangoon and it was delicious! I'm very picky about my sweet and sour sauce but their sauce is the best I've had in richmond from any cheap takeout Chinese place. The chicken was fluffy and perfectly cooked; I enjoyed it so much! They also included a free Chinese scroll calendar in my delivery and it was such a beautiful unexpected surprise! I loved it! I will definitely be ordering from here more often in the future.

I ordered their mock sesame chicken after getting a recommendation to try their vegetarian meats and this did not disappoint, it is so crispy and flavorful. Food preparation was quick too

What's vegan on their menu? I looked at the menu and they have a vegetarian section but not a vegan section?

Everything on the vegetarian menu is vegan. However, they're rude and the food is just okay. I'd recommend going to my noodle and bar. Better food and service.

A shell of its former self…read more Food If I had written this review a year or two ago I would have said it was our favorite place to get Poke bowls. The food was fresh unique and delicious. It isn't an exaggeration to say our whole family LOVED it! We went back today to find that they no longer served poke bowls and only had boring Chinese food. We were hungry so we stayed anyway. The General Tao Chicken and fried rice was some of the worst I have ever had. Rice is flavorless. Chicken was too sweet and not good quality meat. The Beef with mixed vegetables was terrible. Only thing decent was the egg drop soup. Service Don't have any complaints. They are nice and helpful. Ambiance Nothing special has a few tables to sit at. Decor is boring. Place is clean enough. So I really hate to leave this review because it went from our favorite place to eat when we were in the area to a place I would never go back to. So sad like a little part of me has died.

They come with entree, fried or white rice, and an egg roll. The general tso chicken was good. Flavorful and not spicy at all, which is what I'm used to. There also was no broccoli. The fried rice was a bit dry. Even after I added soy sauce it seemed like day old, refrigerated rice. The sesame chicken was the exact same chicken with sesame seeds. Service was average and the inside was nice and clean. If I'm in the area I'd try again, but definitely not taking a special trip to visit again.

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

I have heard good things from colleagues, some of them state that this is their favorite ramen in Richmond, though I have to say, I'm not convinced this place deserves their high praise. When we arrived, we ordered a drink at the bar, but were quickly seated thereafter, and our drinks that we ordered at the bar simply never arrived. When we spoke to the server about this, she seemed confused, and appeared to be somewhat new, and ultimately did not honor that happy hour prices of our drinks that ended up showing up 30 minutes later. Furthermore, one drink that I ordered was regular price, but the price listed on the menu was incorrect, and again the server would not the lower price that was printed on the menu. I was not informed of this error until the receipt was printed. The ramen itself was fine. I've had better, I've had worse. I felt like the broth itself was overall way too salty, and lacked the depth the flavor that I was seeking in a ramen broth. The noodles were well cooked and al dente, and the toppings were a nice addition. All in all, my experience here was rather disappointing, and I really hope that there's better ramen in Richmond.

Not too doughy, and accompanied by two dipping sauces. The fish rolls were excellent. Light, crispy, with a savory fish filling. So satisfying. For entrees we got dry fried shredded chicken (so tasty and unique), shredded duck, and three pepper beef. The chicken was the star - crispy strip of chicken delicately seasoned.
