Ordered online and got it delivered! The pork fried rice was super good 5/5, the general so chicken was a little sweet, it came with an egg roll which was 5/5. The wonton soup was a good pick me up and pretty filling. I wouldn't get the shrimp lo mein though, it's underwhelming): , order was timely though!

They make their own sweet tea!

We all have our fave Chinese dishes and I'm no different in that I prefer the classic Triple Delight. That would be shrimp, chicken and beef with all the veggies mixed in. If available, I take mine with fried rice. So, it's no surprise, that's what I ordered when I called this place for take out. They do their's Sichuan style or on the spicy side. Now that's fine with me and I will actually give them kudos because the friend rice was better than average. I also ordered 2 of their egg rolls which were just not good at all. Hardly any taste & a bit soggy. This place is clearly for take out as there is only one table inside and 2 outside. There is parking on the side the of the building so you don't have to park on the street. It's always a challenge to find your 'go to' Chinese take out when you move to a new city but so far, this place has it. I got the larger size, with the fried rice and 2 egg rolls for $15 bucks which I call a decent value.

Beef and Broccoli with Garlic Sauce Dinner

I ordered this for takeout and it was delicious! The broccoli was cooked perfectly and not too mushy nor too hard. Beef was not chewy or tough either, it was very tender and tasty. The restaurant is small and has a homey feeling when you walk in. The service was very nice and was quick and easy. I would definitely come again to eat here

Chicken lo mein and general Tso chicken

Typical chinese take out place. It was late at night on a Monday, and we suddenly got a craving for some chinese food. I googled around and saw this place was open until 11PM. No place delivers to our home, so we ordered for take out and went to pick it up, and it was ready within 10-15 minutes. We ordered Chicken lo mein and General Tso chicken. The lo mein was a little lack luster. It lacked flavor, but just seemed like it needed more salt or soy sauce. The general Tso chicken was very tasty. The texture of the chicken was a little mushy, but that was probably from steaming on the drive home. They give you A LOT of food, for a decent price. I will definitely be back if I ever have a late night craving.

This is egg drop soup with what looks like mold in it :/ Egg Drop Soup

I am sad to write this review because I use to love this place, but the food I received tonight is totally unacceptable. There was mold in my soup

A shell of its former self…read more Food If I had written this review a year or two ago I would have said it was our favorite place to get Poke bowls. The food was fresh unique and delicious. It isn't an exaggeration to say our whole family LOVED it! We went back today to find that they no longer served poke bowls and only had boring Chinese food. We were hungry so we stayed anyway. The General Tao Chicken and fried rice was some of the worst I have ever had. Rice is flavorless. Chicken was too sweet and not good quality meat. The Beef with mixed vegetables was terrible. Only thing decent was the egg drop soup. Service Don't have any complaints. They are nice and helpful. Ambiance Nothing special has a few tables to sit at. Decor is boring. Place is clean enough. So I really hate to leave this review because it went from our favorite place to eat when we were in the area to a place I would never go back to. So sad like a little part of me has died.

They come with entree, fried or white rice, and an egg roll. The general tso chicken was good. Flavorful and not spicy at all, which is what I'm used to. There also was no broccoli. The fried rice was a bit dry. Even after I added soy sauce it seemed like day old, refrigerated rice. The sesame chicken was the exact same chicken with sesame seeds. Service was average and the inside was nice and clean. If I'm in the area I'd try again, but definitely not taking a special trip to visit again.

The entryway is interesting and provides some shelter from the rain, allowing you to manage your umbrella before entering. We were seated within seconds, and our server, Liza, came by very promptly with some water for our table. I felt slightly anxious at first, being that we were in a cozy two-top amongst the fray, but it subsided quickly because everyone was respectful and reasonably quiet. We ordered the veggie spring rolls to start, and I had the Chinatown Ramen, and my partner had the Chicken Fried Noodles. The appetizer was hot, savory, and spicy with the duck sauce and hot mustard mixture. If you like milder sauce, do not mix it. The entrees came out within five or so minutes of the appetizers, which seemed quick for a busy night. The ramen was spicy, hot, and filling. I was only able to finish about half. We will be enjoying those leftovers tonight. My partner said that her noodles and chicken were well-seasoned and delicious, too. Looking around the restaurant, it is clear that they support the local LGBTQ+ community, and it is even labeled as a Safe Space on the beautifully manicured, makeshift chalkboard/menu/posting board. The clientele and staff alike seemed warm and kind, based solely on limited interactions and observation on my part. If you are looking for a traditional American-Chinese food restaurant (think buffet-style items), this is likely not the place for you. There were no mishaps or snafus with our orders. Liza performed her duties well, and I can surely recommend this restaurant to anyone who doesn't mind a mix of Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

The restaurant serves Chinese food but I think it is an American version of Chinese food. It was a busy evening on that Friday, 20 June 2025. DECOR - a beautiful restaurant with white and red covered shaded lamps plus a big red dragon hanging on the ceiling. FOOD -- I ordered the Guandong Fried Rice ($10.50) which comes with peas, carrots, and egg. I added shrimp ($5.50) as my protein. A glass of water was also brought out for me. My friend ordered the basil chicken ($18.50) with a Maine Root Beer drink ($4.50). She loved her order. I enjoyed the Guandong Fried Rice with added shrimp. It wasn't overly rich in flavour. The mixture of the peas, carrots, and egg was a simple yet appetizing combination. There was a lot of food on my plate and I may have taken a to-go box home because I remember not being able to finish my dinner. Parking is street parking. If I ever visit Richmond, VA again, then I will definitely come back to Beijing on Grove. **** GOAL of 250 reviews in 2026 - 123/250 total reviews in 2026 - 964 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 7 June 2026

This one is in Richmond proper. The menus are generally similar but a little bit different at each. I got a cabbage dish that you often see at these restaurants as well as a kung pao tofu that I don't recall ordering before. Their interpretation of the tofu was distinctive, with a zingy flavor redolent of cooking wine and asparagus as well as the more typical bell peppers and peanuts. The cabbage is uncommonly delicious the way they prepare it. The price was kind of high for two takeout vegetable dishes, but the quality was about what I'd hoped.

The Scotts Addition space is warm and inviting, and was not crowded when we dropped in on a Thursday evening. Our food was quite good; the only complaint is that they brought everything out at once rather than appetizers first. Appetizers: The pork fried dumplings are tender and flavorful. Not too doughy, and accompanied by two dipping sauces. The fish rolls were excellent. Light, crispy, with a savory fish filling. So satisfying. For entrees we got dry fried shredded chicken (so tasty and unique), shredded duck, and three pepper beef. The chicken was the star - crispy strip of chicken delicately seasoned. The duck dish was good, but probably not the best way to order duck. The three pepper beef was spicy and fragrant. We left full and happy and will pop in again next time we have a yen for Chinese.

I got these for the road: Dry-Fried Eggplant Crispy with a touch of savory spice plus cilantro, really good. Grandma Noodles Wavy noodles in a savory brown sauce with dried pepper and cilantro. Spicy but good spicy. Much better than the last time I had them, they hadn't congealed yet. When I mixed everything together it was great. Pork in Spicy Garlic Sauce Oh yeah. Even with just one spice pepper, this rocks. This is what I remember enjoying from years back. Tender shredded pork in a spicy sauce with garlic and multiple kinds of peppers.
