I have ordered from Dragon City 4-5 times now and have never been disappointed. Last night was no exception and was blown away by the chicken lo mein and how fresh and flavorful it was. In the past, I have eaten in here several times, however in the past year I have noticed a change in their food and how it had a lot to be desired in taste and flavor. In addition, I have always ordered my food Extra Spicy. The last couple of times when I would return, I would let the Owner know how NO extra spicy was not put in the food. Absolutely NONE! In addition, A month ago, I asked her for a recommendation on a soup, and she recommended the Chicken Vegetable Soup. I order the Qt. size. I did not inspect the bag until I pulled everything out when I got home... In the soup there was NO chicken or Vegetables. It was ALL Chicken Broth. To say the least, I was not happy. A couple of days later, I went to Dragon City to let her know... and she insisted it had Chicken in it and Vegetables. So, I asked her if she thought I was lying. Of course she did not say anything. So, I let it go and decided to order a beef dinner with fried Vegetables extra Hot. Not thinking, I left and when I pulled everything out at home, I found NO extra spice on the food as I had requested. So, this evening... I went back in to let her know how there was NO spice on the food... Her husband cooks and he speaks NO English, so I wanted to make sure she was letting him know. Her remarks to me were, 4 years ago you complained about not paying for the extra spicy food, so we are not going to add extra spice in your food if you are not going to pay for it. I said, I have never heard of a place not making it extra spicy and now you want $2. more for extra spicy... I said, however you sold me the food anyway by letting me leave here thinking it had the extra spice on it without saying anything. Plus you sold me the chicken soup which had NO chicken or Vegetables as it was ALL Chicken Broth. I said if I wanted a can of Chicken Broth, I would have gone into Martins next door. Plus you think I was lying to you about it having NO chicken or Vegetables. I told her I have eaten in many Asian restaurants and NEVER has anyone charged for extra spice in their food. Than she asked me this question which was very unbecoming... She asked, "Why DO all YOU Americans always complain when you find something wrong"? To me this was OVER the top for a Restaurant Owner to ask or say to a Customer... Especially me who is a Veteran! So, I told her this will be the last time I come into your place, and most of all I told her, you need to adjust your attitude if you want to run a restaurant as the Customer needs to be taken care of and if there is a problem, you need to fix it. So, tonight I am giving it a 1 Star. If I could give it a -5 Star I would. I did not like the question, about Americans always complaining. It tells me that I am NOT the only one who is questioning their food and take out service. Finally, I went up the street to another Asian restaurant and ordered it extra Spicy at the same price, and the owner threw in extra spice cups if they had not put enough on it. NO Extra Charge... Now this is what a good take out service is all about. So, do not expect to see me there... as my money spends very well in other Restaurants, eat in or take out where they want to take care of their customers... Stay away from Dragon City !! read more

Very disappointed in my visit to Dragon City. I was extremely hungry and it was the closet thing in the area so I decided give it a try. I ordered fried chicken wings, bourbon chicken, and shrimp toast. Everything but the shrimp toast was an epic fail! The flavor was non existent on both the wings and bourbon chicken as well as dry (bourbon chicken). They also do not delivery and we were the only people the restaurant and the order took almost 30mins for 3 items. I wish I would have looked at the reviews before placing my order but I was starving and didn't think about it until it was too late. And Wendy is incompetent, but three shrimp does NOT constitute Triple Delight, again three shrimp in a large dinner is a joke. I work nearby and eat here quite regularly. Not too sure about the validity of older posts in terms of the flavor of the food. Perhaps a different chef/ownership? However, I know that currently, this is some of the best Chinese food in Richmond. Food is always seasoned and prepared expertly and quickly. A little pricey, but for the freshness and great taste, it's totally worth it. But please...don't go in there with a card thinking you can just get a pint of Wonton soup. The credit card policy is a little extreme - there is a $10.00 minimum. It's hard to order $10.00 worth of food for one person to eat. Make sure to bring cash! :) read more

I stopped going to this restaurant after the violations that were found (and available for all to view) in 2009. I went to review the violations and found they were corrected. So for the first time in 4 to 5 years I placed an order. I was hoping it was under new management but after calling, I realized it was the same rude lady who hung up on me before! I was simply asking about the ingredients in one of the dishes when she hung up the phone on me. After reading the reviews, I can see she is still doing the same thing to others! I understand I have choices and I have made my decision and I will never go there and I will spread the word of how rude they were!! Food is good, customer service bad. We've frequented for last couple years but went in for just a soup and they would not let me use a debit card as they have a $10 minimum. Refused service.
