Ordered a couple items - a Carbonara Piada with crispy chicken and a Diavolo Pasta with grilled chicken and cheese. Both items were hearty, well sauced and spiced, fresh tasting, and delicious. It's a unique menu and we would eat here all the time. Plus, it was a really good portion size for money in the quick service scheme of things. The store looked very recently opened, modern, clean, but it's a couple years old. Most of all, I have to praise the friendly and helpful staff. I was greeted when I came in to pick up my order. I had made a bad mistake in ordering, and without even asking, the kind cashier and chef insisted on correcting it. They went above and beyond. Their colleague who was attending to the line and packing up the beverage station was also friendly and helpful. This was a solid A+++ meal and experience in my book and I strongly recommend.

He was hard working, always gave refills, and was kind. He was definitely the highlight of our visit. The ambiance is that of an old-school pizza parlor from the 90s, but it didn't feel nostalgic, it felt boring. Unfortunately, the food was just okay. I ordered the Milton's Special pizza and it was fine. Nothing to rave about but nothing to want to come back to, either. My friend ordered a pizza as well. It's nice that they have GF options. She wasn't too impressed with her choice, either. It tasted like it could have come from the freezer at the grocery store, it was very generic in flavor. The service was really the best part of our entire meal. 10/10 service, 4/10 food

When he brought the bread and oil, he was able to take balsamic vinegar and draw the number 25 on the dish (we are soon to celebrate 25 years of marriage). Our 1st course was a plate of Crustini, prosciutto, provolone, burrata and balsamic marinated tomatoes. No problem finishing that. The atmosphere of this place is semi-casual. We were tucked in a little corner of a semi-private room, but could hear the patrons around us. Yet, it was not bothersome. For entrees, we both got pasta. My husband ordered the spinach noodled lasagna, which he told me was great. He couldn't finish his portion. As for me, I got the chicken parmesan with spaghetti. You can tell they used San Marzano tomatoes in their sauce. So good. I too, could not finish, so we get to eat this again. Make a reservation so you don't take a chance as a walk-in or bar patron. We loved that they said our name when we arrived at the proper time. Our waiter told us that the owner is from The Bronx, but he traveled to Bologna, Italy, and gets inspired by the dishes he tried there. Menu changes daily. We love that he went and treated us to some special treats (the dessert was a Limoncello tart. The top of the custard was bruleed, and it was served with tiny spoons and a dollop of real whipped cream. The plate was sauced with raspberry puree. Oh, the bottom was a crunch crust to add texture and flavor. Last thing, my Moscato D'Asti was imported from Italy. I like the pear flavor that comes through while drinking this chilled, bubbly wine. I hope you go there and try someone from the new menu. It will be nice to go again.

We got seated promptly and had the pleasure of being served by Shannon. Shannon was humorous, kind and explained the menu very thoroughly so that we understood. In addition, he asked us what brought us to Amalia's and catered to our occasion. While we were in town for a wedding, we also were celebrating some home wins as well which Shannon took note of and gave us complimentary drinks at the end of our evening which was so kind. We started our evening off with some NA mocktails made in house which resembled a mojito. There were fresh strawberries and a lime wedge on top of the cup. I appreciated that this drink wasn't overly sugary and was the perfect blend of refreshing we needed especially after a flight. From there, we got complimentary house bread which was outstanding as it contained oil and onions baked in. Delicious! Shannon explained the menu was tapas style or small plate. We lead with the zucchini appetizer which had pistachios on top and were given suggestions on how to eat it. We went with the sushi method and ended up rolling the thinly sliced zucchini with a fork and it was perfect!! A very fun experience and such a unique menu option. For our main dishes, my husband has the steak and mashed potato special while I had the truffle cavatelli with sausage. Both items were out of this word and the perfect portion size. Shannon knew we loved the bread and brought us more to our table even though I'm fairly certain that is supposed to be for the beginning of the coursing. While our bellies were too stuffed for dessert right then and there, we did get cannolis to go and they are currently up in our fridge. We look forward to trying! We were able to see the other patrons order dinner in house and the entire layout is a production. If you have the chance and room for dessert, I highly recommend because the staff prepares it for you at your table. In addition, there are lovely coffee pairings with each dessert as an option as well. **Note: Amalia's does not carry red sauce. Many of the pastas are white sauce by design. This was not a deal breaker for us but it might be for someone else. Thank you, Amalia's! You were exactly the Italian cuisine we craved!

Simply Delicious We…read morehave been looking for a good seafood restaurant since we moved away from the coast; and we have found one in Rolesville. Granchio is a straightforward, outstanding eatery that serves perfectly prepared dishes that are creative and flavorful. Portions are generous and the seasonings imaginative. All the staff (servers, chef, owners) are friendly and welcoming. This is a real 'feel-good' place to enjoy a sumptuous meal. While there are a some tasty pasta dishes and other options on the menu, the shellfish creations are the stars of the show. My favorites are the BOIL BAGS. The 1/2 pound portion comes with one Corn on the Cob and one large Boiled Potato. The one pound portions come with two each. Choices are Shrimp; Snow Crab; King Crab; Lobster Tail; Green Mussels; Black Mussels and Crawfish. Sauce options include Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter or Granchio House (a combination of all three). You can also chose between mild, medium or hot spice levels. The Black Mussel Boil Bag was absolutely delicious. The Mussels were slightly sweet, tender, plump and cook just until they opened. I chose the House Sauce seasoned somewhere between medium and hot. It was perfect - tangy, zesty, peppery, buttery and loaded with flavor. The Potato was large and the Corn drenched in the great sauce. I added the extra Sausage and had plenty for a filling dinner and lunch the next day. Another delightful surprise was the Blue Crab Ravioli. The ample pasta envelopes were stuffed with succulent Maryland Blue Crab and fresh Ricotta Cheese and covered with a creamy Red Vodka Sauce. Again, there was enough for an ample dinner and leftover lunch. We can also recommend either the Shrimp Cocktail or the Fried Oyster Appetizers. The Shrimp were just the right size, perfectly chilled and served with a zesty cocktail sauce. The Oysters tasted fresh and the spicy Oyster Dipping Sauce was just hot enough to get your attention. Another favorite is the Snow Crab Boil Bag. The flavorful snowy white meat locked up inside each leg takes a little work, but is worth the effort. It is sweet with a slight hint of the ocean and a pure delight when paired with the lively House Sauce. Finish you feast with a large serving of heavenly Tiramisu. It will put a smile on your face.
