Pacific Pool and Spa built my pool and assisted with the layout of our landscaping. We could not be more pleased with the quality of the final product. We absolutely love our pool and feel we got good value for our investment. Our pool is 20' X 40' with a 7' X 7' spa, both heated. The electronic cover was a fantastic recommendation that we are so pleased to have included. Alan is more of an artist than a pool contractor. He is a wealth of knowledge that we can rely on. I wouldn't recommend booking this company for any appointments where it requires you to take off time or adjust your schedule first my husband waited until 1pm then I decided to just call off the stay and wait for pool cleaners. Huge inconvenience for me and my family today. We Took off work to get the pool cleaned for the holiday and after waiting until 2hrs after the service appointment to contact the company- no answer. I received a call back about 30 minutes later not saying they wanted to reach out regarding my appointment just "hey we had a missed call from you"- I didn't know the problem or issue why they were a no show- I informed the company I'd like service twice monthly- since they recommend a cleaning every week they decided not to reach out to me to see if that would be an option since in the summer they are only allowing clients that will pay for weekly service. Again I had no problem with the issue, I would've been open to weekly service since I'd already been waiting and I'm expecting family over in two days for the Fourth of July, and my pool needs cleaning. Still wasn't even going to reach out to me to cancel or even tell me that I needed to book them weekly in order to be a customer. I had contracted another pool builder but was running into some early challenges with them and reached out to discuss my project with Alan. He was kind enough to come to my house and answer my questions and to make recommendations on how I approach my project, and his advise was to stay the course with my PB. He offered to help answer any other questions I had along the way and offered some other words of wisdom. While I haven't work with PPS for my pool remodel project, it's rare that you find someone willing to give their time and honest advise like he did. Wow! I am surprised at the negative comments regarding Pacific pool and spa. This summer Alan renovated our backyard in Alamo. His ideas were amazing! He is a perfectionist, and his work is impeccable! He designed and installed a new pool and spa and gave us great ideas for rock work, steps and spillways. I had this company install my new variable pool pump and upgraded my controller. Alan did a great job but it took a few weeks to get the parts and to install it. By the time it was installed my pool was a swamp but with the new equipment I go it crystal clear in 3 days. OK, had this variable speed pump system for almost a year now with the and I have to say we just got our true up bill from PG&E and with our electric solar panels on our roof our electric bill was zero. If you have an old pool pump, you need to change it out for a new one. By having Alan install it, its looks like it will pay for its self in about a few years. This new pump is so quiet that you can't even tell its on unless you are within 5 feet of it. Its all Jandy and I was hesitant since we had Pentair before. Alan was able to still use my salt generator and existing pool filter which saved me money. Had an issue with our controller after 6 months and the time kept resetting. Gave Alan a call and he sent his Tech out the next day to fix the issue. We couldn't have been happier! read more

Working with Alan the owner of Pacific Pools has been a completely exasperating experiencing. After 7 months (several with absolutely nothing done) , 6 weeks to install the equipment because he has no money or credit, couple of unpaid sub-contractors, shoddy workmanship by Alan, we finally got him out of our yard! Getting calls from an unpaid contractor is unnerving, because you don't want your property hit with a Lien. Alan acted very affronted that these hard working men would dare to contact me, then reassured me with "They're not licensed, they can't lien you." So unlicensed and unpaid, awesome. We believe he hires them knowing they're unlicensed , so he can take advantage of them, which I think is plain ugly. Also, he won't knock on your front door, wanders in and out of your yard at will, never staying long enough to accomplish much. You never know when he's there, or gone, communication was always very poor, unless he wants a payment. Alan really is dependent on his subs to get the work done, but he's burnt most of those contacts by leaving them unpaid. We suggest you don't hire him, if you already have..don't be talked into giving him an early progress payment! Don't know how he stays in business, expect him to go out soon, so BEWARE. read more

I am very happy to find a pool/ filter repair in Tracy. Alan was honest and professional. I needed a minor repair, however I did not know that until Alan fixed my problem. I'm super lazy so I never gave any review before during the many years using yelp. I have to recommend this one though because the service we got was soooo good and it exceeded our expectation sooo much! First of all, Alan saved our pump, plumbing, and pool. Our pool had stopped running for 3 and half weeks because we were trying to find a reasonable priced pump install service but had various troubles with Other companies such as getting over priced quote, trying sell a different pump as promised, adding up addional services/fees with various reason, or just not responding. When we found and contacted Alan, he responded quickly with a very reasonable quote. He even came to our house during a rainy day. I was so surprised about that. He then fixed our plumbing and installed a really nice pump and controller within 1.5 hour. Second of all, out of the ~10 companies that we contacted (yes I really did contacted that many companies so that I get a best quote and unbiased understanding), Alan was the best! Let me tell you, he charges what he tells you, only sell you what you actually need, and never tries to oversell anything. I've experienced with so many companies that they tell you one price but then end up with a much higher cost because they continually tell you that there are additional products/services that you have to get which they didn't ever mentioned in the beginning. I really appreciate that Alan has being so honest and transparent with me regarding the price, product and service. He's so easy to work with and helped us resolve everything that we needed. Finally, he helped us installed a nice new pump that will save us a lot of our electronic bill (old pump runs about 1200W per hour, the new pump is less than 500W per hour). And it got done professionally with the plumbing updated to a more efficient setup. I definitely recommend Alan and his company! Thank you Alan! read more

Alan's price was competitive, but above all, I felt that I could trust him. And in my book, thats whats really counts. He did what he said he would do and there was no "run around."
