WAY over priced... I go to doctors and dentists, and in this case endodontists, for their services not to look at their waterfalls, sit on their expensive furniture and indulge in espresso drinks. After having a root canal the temp filling fell out within a matter of 2 days and the on call doctor NEVER called me back. When I finally got through to the office they had made excuses for the doctor...there shouldn't have been excuses just a phone call back. They don't have much availability due to study groups, office parties and other shinannigans going on. I didn't feel like much of a priority and their timeline for me had no sense of urgency despite the pain in my mouth. Overall, I was unimpressed and don't plan on finishing any of my work with them or the dentist that referred me...(P.S. what dentist can't do their own root canals?) read more

***BE AWARE*** The dentist my son sees sent him here for a root canal. They did a couple x-rays and a brief exam and confirmed he did need a root canal. They asked if he wanted to do it right then and he almost said yes, but luckily asked what the cost would be. He was in shock when they told him $3,000.00!! This is just for a root canal...no crown or anything. He said thank you but he was not prepare to spend that much. They then charged him $419.00 for the x-rays!! This is really outrageous and left a really poor impression on all of us on how Pacific Endodontics conducts business. read more

Kirstina and Ali are the best in the business. Their office was able to accommodate an emergency visit for my root canal. They were very friendly, professional, and explained the process in detail before starting. My only regret is not going to them sooner and suffering over a week with tooth pain. Dr. Ali was quick and efficient with the procedure and made sure I was comfortable throughout. Don't usually write a review for a teeth work but well deserved in this case. Had a root canal there. It was great that they got me right in (my regular dentist called since I was in so much pain. However; I have had horrible pain since the procedure and although I have called 6 times now and the only thing that they do is call in pain meds. When I called last week (again) I was put on hold and then disconnected. Just tried calling again since the pain is pretty extraordinary. Was told they could get me in over a week from now. Then came on and said that the doctor would be away and they'll have to let me know when I can get in. This is so unprofessional it's ridiculous. One month AFTER the procedure and I'm in incredible pain still. To not be able to get in for this long is just wrong on so many levels. I would recommend staying away from here! Addendum to my review: After reading my review I was called by the office manager, who was very apologetic and contrite and charming. She did her best to explain that there had been a mix up and ackonowledged that mistakes were made. As I pointed out in my original review, I while I was there for my initial visit I felt good about Dr. Pilot - he's very likeable and personable and and his staff were efficient and friendly. So - I conferred with my primary Dentist again - I thought I'd give Dr. Pilot and staff another chance at my crummy teeth. If my experience was favorable, I would remove the bad review and write it off to humans being human - people make (multiple) mistakes sometimes. I called their office on June 3rd and, as she was out, left a message with one of the staff to have the office manager call me. From her reaction in our prior call, I thought she would be thrilled that I called back and was still willing to give them a try. I never heard from her. read more

I'm with Miranda. I have had dental issues FOREVER and Dr. Etemad has been a blessing in disguise. Dr. Etemad and his assistant, Kristina, are amazing. I've had 3 botched root canals (from college- hack of a dentist in Texas) that Dr. Etemad has redone (well, 2 so far, 1 in the next 10 days). He takes the time to look at the x-rays, show the patient where the issues are and what's normal/abnormal. I'm lucky to where my insurance allows my dentist to refer me to a specialist at no additional cost... so cost isn't an issue for me. My first root canal he fixed had a perforated gum along with roots that didn't go down all the way to the bone. He even told me that this is a risky procedure and he couldn't be positive it would work at 100%. Two years later-- it's perfect. No more infection. The tooth and gums look great. Today, he fixed my #20 who's canal wasn't thoroughly cleaned from previous dentist and had been abscessing. Once again, we looked at before and afters (the x-ray from 2 years previous showed no abscess) and showed me why I'm in pain. The root canal was professional and done in less than 2 hours. Only issue is that he didn't give me vicodin and the tooth is definitely throbbing. That'll be a phone call tomorrow. In 10 days, I'm going back for my 3rd tooth to be retreated. As long as my insurance allows for specialists, I'll keep going here and referring others. Professional. Knowledgeable. Clean. Honest. read more

I was referred to Dr. Etemad and went to their offices in West Seattle. They were very friendly, but even though there was no one else being looked at, I was kept waiting for about 10 to 15 minutes. A technician finally took me into an exam room. I had been referred by my regular dentist, and had brought with me an x-ray of the tooth in question. However, the technician insisted on taking two new x-rays, I think just to justify a charge for that. Then I waited another 20 minutes. I finally started wandering around their offices, trying to find someone, anyone, because no one was there in the offices, not even at the reception desk. I called out for maybe 5 minutes, and finally someone showed up. A few minutes after that, Dr. Etemad arrived and spent maybe 5 minutes with me. He did the same tests that my regular dentist did - i.e., he tapped the tooth (#14) with a little mallet, and touched it with an ice pencil to verify that it was dead. 5 minutes. For that 5 minute visit I was charged $122 for a "limited oral examination" plus $48 for touching the tooth with the ice pencil, plus $26 for an x-ray that was not necessary, for a total of $196. I am not sure why the examination charge is separate from the charges for what he did during the exam. Puzzling. Regardless of his qualifications, I find that very high for a five-minute interaction. I complained to the office manager about the $48 charge, and was told that the ice pencils were very pricey. Oddly, my own dentist did the same test for no charge, even though I offered to pay. His exam also took 5 minutes or so. I will call the $196 an unfortunate loss, and find another endodontist. I can only imagine what extra charges might be assessed, even though I was given a specific quote - although not in writing. They did not inspire confidence from me. I suppose if you have insurance such things are no big deal. This dentist is too rich for my uninsured wallet. read more

After I wrote my original review the office manager called me to ask me to make changes to my review which I didn't do and I'm pretty sure is not allowed on Yelp. They refunded my out of pocket expenses which were only like $75 at that point but they still charged my insurance company. I had an excellent experience here after being referred for a root canal. Dental anything is my worst nightmare, but they were sweet, gentle, and they worked me in for an appointment quickly. I have had only one visit, so I can't judge the dental skill of Dr. Bennett but I can give you an earful about their office staff. 1. Failure to timely submit documents to the insurance company for payment leaving out a charge of $200.00 because Kristina said my insurance didn't cover it. WRONG & trying to bully me into paying those charges not submitted. 2. She said she tried to set up a conference call with my insurance company- time for her to check the DSM-IV Diagnostic Codes and get her diagnosis. Nuts!!! Found Kristina is a dentist, no wonder she doesn't know a debit from a credit. 3. Received a bill today still not showing the submission of the Cone Beam Tomography that I immediately verified today with insurance that it is covered. 4. If every item on your statement is not submitted in full to your insurance company then you have possibly been cheated. I wonder how many others' have been bullied by this office "office manager". If an employee says they have read the insurance contract, they read a dumb-ed down version like your car insurance policy. The true insurance contract would put you to sleep before you got to page 3. 5. It is never an office employees decision to cherry pick what is submitted to the insurance company. Don't accept that, it's your money. 6. Contacted Dr. Bennett for a copy of the x-rays. After month of emails back and forth, I never got the actual x-rays. In my view, customer service is non-existent here. There a lot of dentists, check them out before making an appointment. Sorry to say most practice money not medicine. read more

My best friend from college came to Seattle to visit a few months ago. After a Sounders game and the pub after, he had an accident at hit his front tooth. The tooth shattered and left the nerve of the tooth exposed. The next day, we called Pacific Endodontics and Dr. Etimad and the office manager came in on there day off to perform an emergency root canal on my best buddy. I was quoted $1,490 for a root canal and on arrival, they asked for $1,8xx. Fortunately, I got the quote via an email so I showed them the email. "Oh, maybe it was $1,490". I had complications after the root canal and was in a lot of pain. The could not help with pain meds after hours. Never received a follow-up call asking about my recovery or pain issues. My dentist provided great service. Arranged for pain meds after hours, called me daily for 3 days until I recovered. Won't be going back to Pacific if I need an Endodontist again. read more

I was sitting in the waiting room one afternoon waiting for my mother to get finished with her appointment. I was very displeased with the Office Manager and how she treated the girls at the front desk. I didn`t want to look as I was listening in on what was going on, but how could I not even hear . The girls were most friendly with me at the counter and on the phone when I made the appointment. She embarrassed them so bad I was embarrassed to be sitting in the waiting area. I couldn`t wait for my mother to be finished so we could leave. How one person even thinks its "ok" to treat another employee the way that she did is hugely disrespectful. I hope there is some sort of action taken on how a manager of a business should handle situations. I am appauled at her actions! Had Dr. Pilot at the W. Seattle perform a root canal. He's great--great work. However, his support staff leave a lot left to be desired. Beverly (I believe this is her name) is one of the front desk staff, and she is rude and unhelpful. In addition, I called after my root canal with a question about excessive pain and she advised she would discuss and call me back. I've never received a call back. Customer service is key! If I ever need future work done, I'll definitely go to Dr. Pilot but will avoid her at all costs. read more

Care, Skill, Judgment If I can describe Dr Ali Etemeed in three words that would be it. Bing sent to entodontyst is no fun, but Dr Ali and Dr Kristina made me feel safe and confident that I'll be taken care of. I've been their patient on and off for over 15 years. Their no nonsense, straight talk gives me confidence that the issue will be resolved to the best standards in dental field. Each time my regular dentist takes new x-rays they are impressed and always point out teeth that Dr Ali and Dr Kristina worked on as great examples of dental work. Over the years I've changed few dentists as their business goes thru ups and downs, but Dr Ali's practice remains golden standard. Every time I visited their office Dr Kristina has greeted with smiles, warmth and compassion. Her personal touch made the whole experience almost pleasurable. When you're having your root canal done and your dentist sends you to a specialist, it really means a lot if you have someone as friendly as Kristina by your side. VERY EXPENSIVE- extra costs billed afterwards- watch out!!! Referred by my dentist- same day appointment- asked how much it would cost; dentist who performed the proceedure said $1,415 if I paid same day- which I did with credit card on the spot. Two months later got a bill in the mail for "unpaid' additional expenses- another $435- putting total cost to $1,850. Staff or doctor claimed I'd been told there would be extra charges billed later. Not logical and not true. Quality of work was OK, but cost and questionable ethics make this a place to avoid. read more

My husband was referred to this office by our primary dentist. He was pleased with the staff and doctors and the procedure went flawlessly. However, once we got our first bill, that's when all the problems began. The Office Manager, Kristina works two jobs - she is the main nurse/dentist assistant AND she is the Office Manager. Both of these jobs are incredibly important and the fact that she manages both, shows. They need a different office manager. We paid over $500 up front to cover our "potential" fees that insurance wouldn't cover. We were told by the front desk receptionist that it is likely we will even get some of the money back. A couple months after the service, we received a bill for over $700. After calling three times to reach Kristina and leaving a message each time, she finally called me back. She told me that Insurance responded and paid $85 and that the rest was coded as "Patient Responsibility". I thought this was incredibly odd based on the coverage I thought we had. So I called our dental insurance and they told us that they had actually coded it as a "Denial Code 5 - stating that medical insurance must be billed first". Therefore, I called Kristina back and told her that their office is required to bill our medical insurance first since this was a "surgery" and then re-bill the dental insurance if anything isn't covered, at which time, they will likely pay everything. At first, she said they cannot do this. I was very confused because they had asked us for our dental AND medical insurance card when my husband checked in. Why would they ask for the medical insurance card if they can't bill them? Then she said she didn't know how to bill medical insurance. I then proceeded to call my insurance to help HER determine if she could in fact bill them and how she would go about doing this. I was told by my medical insurance that Kristina should call them directly if she has questions....you can see where this is going...it went round and round this way. After multiple hours, we finally helped Kristina figure out how to bill them and she said she would take care of it. She did however have the audacity to threaten me with being sent to collections "since it has been over 90 days since the service" if nothing is paid by the end of the month. This was incredibly frustrating considering the delay was on their end and that my insurance was still pending payment. Fast forward another couple months and I get another bill in the mail. I called the endodontics office and ask to speak with Kristina. I left a message. No call back. I call again a couple days later. Leave a message. Finally a call back the next day. She tells me that my insurance says we have no coverage....this is not accurate. I then proceed to call my insurance again and they confirm that I DO have coverage. I called Kristina again. She bills my insurance again, hopefully accurately this time. Fast forward to yesterday (Jan 15th) and we get another bill in the mail threatening to be sent to collections in two weeks from the date on the letter (Jan 10th). This gives us 7 business days to figure this out. After having an extremely frustrating conversation with Kristina, I decide to call my medical insurance again. I determine that they will be submitting their decision this Friday. I was then able to call my dental insurance and tell them what my medical insurance has decided and the dental insurance said that they will submit payment next wednesday...two days before we are threatened with collections! Overall, this has been the most frustrating and unbelievable experience with medical and dental billing. We had to do all of the grunt work ourselves and take care of the billing process ourselves. Kristina continually put the blame on us and did not listen when we tried to explain the circumstances. She also had no problem threatening us with collections on multiple occasions. I sure hope this gets resolved next week. read more

I just had a root canal here, my dentist sent me. At first I was concerned because of all the bad reviews, but I did not have any of those experiences here. I thought the doctor was great and so was his assistant. I had Dr Etemad, he is absolutely wonderful! Very thorough and knowledgeable. I was a little freaked out about the procedure and he was very sensitive to that fact. I thought the man that worked the front desk was very nice, helpful and courteous. He answered all of my questions and concerns. I have insurance, so I didn't think they were higher than any other endodontist I have been to. This is a medical procedure, and surgeries are expensive. But overall I had a great experience (for a root canal) and would recommend them to anyone and I will be seeing them in the future the next time I need work done! read more

I went to Dr Pilot's West Seattle office after they were able to squeeze me into a last minute appt for a root canal. I am terrified of dentist offices .He made my root canal incredibly friendly, painless, and comfortable (not something I'd ever normally write about a tooth related appt)... in fact, I, dont write many reviews period. After about a week and half, I began to have trouble with my tooth (or so I thought). After calling their office, Brandon helped schedule another appt to get me in asap to check out the problem (after my dentist claimed it wasn't their issue) without any hassle. Dr Pilot and his staff are professional, courteous, and they stand by their work. Exactly what you want from an endodontist. (Turns out my issue was with my dentist and not with them at all). I went here on a referral. The tooth in question had not hurt for at least six years. When I asked, the referrer said there was no charge. Pacific endodontics did not mention a charge. When I left my tooth ached and they charged me 148.00. When I do get the work done, I will be going somewhere else. read more

Finally I worked through my TODO list to write down review about Dr. Jeffery Bennett because he and his team deserve it. I had a problem with one tooth and the only option before removing it was the dreaded two words: root canal. It did not go right at first, the pain got back after half a year, but dear Jeffery invited me again to his office to reexamine it and he figured out some little more work to do on me that was hidden somewhere deep down :-) I had a lot of questions on him because I have read myriad of articles about root canals and how dangerous they may be for the body, but he openly explained to me all details that I finally got different opinion on that topic altogether, and most importantly, there is no pain anymore because after his second treatment, everything seems to be great. Additionally, he is very relaxed and you have a feeling with him that there is nothing that can go wrong. His whistling while getting into my tooth's nerves was definitely calming my brain nerves. A tooth under one of my bridges had been bothering me for a week. I saw my dentist and we were both worried that the bridge had started leaking. (I've had these bridges for 11 years.) I was referred to Pacific Endodontics after the first place couldn't see me right away and I'm so glad. I saw Dr. Pilot for my consultation and he explained to me that when there's trauma to a tooth, like grinding them down for bridges, they can eventually die. He also let me know they could drill right through the bridge to get to the tooth. That took a ton of fear away. He checked both bridges and told me they were in great condition and looked amazing for being 11 years old. Cut to a few days later and I head in for the actual root canal. I had Dr. Gharai and he was awesome. I tend to need a lot of novicaine and he gave me breaks in between shots so I could calm down. (The epinephrine in it makes me shake uncontrollably) once he started, he would explain what he was doing and made me feel really calm and relaxed. The novicaine started to wear off and I about jumped out of the chair. He gave me a couple more shots and got it done. Through all of it he was so nice and compassionate. read more

The West Seattle office is beautiful, and all of the staff was really nice. The doctor talked to me about what was happening with my teeth, and set really good expectations as to what our next steps are. If I do end up needing surgery, this seems like it would be a great place for it. read more

Wow, what a total nightmare; complete disrespect, "car sells man approach" (bait-switch). Told by receptionist "do not worry about the first payment your teeth are all that matters"..I arrive only to be told on the day of my root-canal that "she put in the notes that you would pay on first appointment, we need the money now or we cannot help you"; totally lied and wasted my time. The dentist seemed like a great guy; "too bad she wasted my time and his". Due to the total bait-and switch; I would not take my business here. If the receptionists tell you anything like this, "get it in writing". I think that being put on the spot she thought I would cough it up; I don't do business with unethical people. read more

The office manager is a real piece of work. She has no respect for her staff or the hard work that they do. She allows personal matters to dominate her work. While she is supposed to be assisting the doctor she was yelling at her staff. Don't you think she would know that treating the staff with respect would get more done? I was not happy there, regardless of all the expensive trappings. Over charging patients to have a nice office to show off is not good. I don't think I would ever return to that office no matter how much my tooth hurts. The doctors should replace her with the really nice young lady on the desk. I was embarrassed to witness the staff being treated so poorly. I wouldn't recommend Pacific Endodontics to anyone that I like. read more

Major problems with these people.... I first went in to see them about a root canal on appointment.set up by my dentist. After showing up at the address I was directed to I was informed that I was at the wrong office. I (I still have the e-mail confrming my appointment). I was then given an appointment another week or two later. At that appointment we discussed my options for dental treatment. The evaluating dentist told me he would be contacting me within a week to let me know what could be done. I called a week later and asked about my options and was told that the dentist would bcall me back in the next two days or so. A week later I called again and asked about my options and was told again the dentist would call me within two three days. This repeated fior another two weeks before the dentist called. I went in the day finally set for amy appointment and was told there was about $650 my insurance did not cover..Made arragements to pay that. Had root canal and was told by my dentist that little or nothing could be done for the tooth since they had left nothing over the gum line to anchor a crown with, After receiving this news, I received a bill for over $1500 due (I had lready made payment for part of the $650). read more

if i could do a negative star review i would. worst experience ever and sadly i've visited my share of dentists. the last straw and what made me walk out is that they wanted me to sign a consent form for getting a root canal that was signing off on what the dr. had spoken to me about (which was zero) on what a root canal entails and what harm it could do to existing tooth or surrounding. problem with this i was NOT GETTING a root canal. they were simply going to see if i needed one again or if the tooth was cracked. again NOT a root canal but an exploration of said tooth. they would not proceed without me signing bogus form so happily left and found another dr. who has great reviews on yelp :) read more
