West Seattle Endodontics is the only dental practice that I will go to for a root canal. I needed an emergency root canal yesterday and asked my regular dentist to be referred back to this clinic. This was my second root canal procedure done by Dr. Rachel Cohen who sincerely cares about my well-being and frequently asked if I was having any discomfort during the procedure. Having recently obtained my first crown at a different dentist, it certainly wasn't anticipated that I would experience pain since day one of the procedure. Having endured pain for over 3 weeks I came across West Seattle Endodontics to explore other options to get relief from the pain. Tommy who answered my initial call was amazing in answering my numerous questions and concerns and even looked into my insurance coverage details. A clear outline of all costs were broken down so there were no surprises. He was also able to squeeze me in the very next morning. Having had such a painful experience for so long, I was extremely wary when I went in for the appointment. Alyssa and Dr. Emily Wang absolved all those anxious feelings. They were so accommodating and friendly from the initial consult to my first root canal procedure. Dr. Wang kept checking in with me the whole time and I can't say enough good things about their bedside manner. I truly felt I was in good hands. Dr. Wang followed up with me the very next day to check how I was doing which was so appreciated. Side note: If available to you, I would also recommend the laughing gas, especially for those that tend to be a bit anxious. Though still a bit tender due to my bad tendencies as a grinder, and of course still being in the healing process, I can say I felt almost immediate relief from the level of pain I was in previously. My husband needed a root canal. His regular dentist could not do it so he was referred here. My insurance paid them a check, and the check was cashed, however, no record of payment on their side. We were charged up front a full fee, so, I would like to get this money refunded, and transparency in billing would be appreciated. I have called 4 times and never a straight answer. -Went in yesterday for a second root canal procedure here on another referral from a trustworthy dentist. This experience mirrored the first: Cordial treatment, effective anesthesia administered with care, thorough, painstaking root canal work by Dr. Cohen and crew- followed by comfortable recovery as anesthesia wore off. Between then and now a day later no painkillers have been harmed and all remain unopened in the medicine cabinet. -Retired now from many decades driving trucks, vans, buses, trains, fixing farm equipment and loading airplanes- I only wish my career had been as comfortable as the two root canal procedures performed by Dr. Cohen and crew at West Seattle Endodontics. One hopes to never need another root canal- but if it happens I'll go to West Seattle Endodontics again. The root canal procedure has a needlessly grim popular image which would be a better one if all root canals were done at West Seattle Endodontics. -Last of all- Both root canal procedures from Dr.Cohen have had a great result: relief from tooth pressure sensitivity and from tooth temperature sensitivity. I had an infection in tooth with previous root canal. My dentist felt tooth was fractured. Gave 2 options. Both of which required extraction. In the past, I had similar experience. My desire is always to save the tooth. The Endodontics clinic I went to then was successful both times in saving the teeth. I asked current dentist for 3rd option to try to save tooth. Fortunately I is was referred to Dr Cohen. She wasn't sure tooth could be saved but thought it was worth trying I she is highly skilled and professional. She also communicates extremely well. She's got a great personality and sense of humor, is incredibly kind, and her work is impeccable. I'm a confirmed WIMP when it comes to dental appointments and I was so anxious about my root canal, but the staff at West Seattle Endodontics was the perfect mix of compassionate and professionalism. Dr. Wang and Arissa did a great job of explaining everything to me to settle my nerves and I went into my procedure with absolutely trust and faith in the process.
