Oh my gosh where do I begin. Dr. Jake and the Rainier Endodontics team are amazing. I was experiencing increasingly debilitating pain from a root canal over a long weekend and when I called in first thing Monday AM on the verge of tears his team got me a last-minute appointment within 2 hrs. Immediately upon seeing me he did my root canal procedure, no questions asked, presumably shifting around his appointments to accommodate an emergency procedure. They took my Delta Dental insurance and the receptionist was super helpful/ responsive. Dr. Jake even called me later that day to check that the pain was subsiding. This is the best place I've ever been to. They were so nice and made me feel completely comfortable. They did my root canal, and it didn't hurt at all during the procedure. They talked me through everything and even gave me a blanket when I said I was nervous and shaking because I was cold. I'm 67 and have had several root canals but this was my first with Dr. Weissman at Rainier Endodontics. Previous experiences were good but this one was remarkable. From the moment I came into the office and throughout the procedure I felt so fortunate and grateful for having been referred to them. After, although the original (root) pain was gone I had some pain when I chewed food with that tooth. Jake got on the phone with me, listened to me patiently, and calmed me that all was okay and normal. It's been two weeks and all's okay. I will definitely be returning if/when I need to! read more

First root canal I ever had, and I'm so glad my dentist referred me to Dr. Weissman. I was having horrible tooth pain and sensitivity--all thanks to an errant rock in some lentils I was eating--and his office was able to work me in the same day as my dentist's referral. He and his staff are exceptional. I ended up having to go back twice because of the inflammation and both times, I had no pain as he worked on the tooth. This review is a bit overdue. My dentist last year sent over a referral for me to see Dr. Weissman because he thought my root canal possibly needed re-treatment. 12+ months of delay later, I had tooth pain in my root canal but with Covid-19 and being immunocomprised, I was ready to just take the pain and suffer. Dr. Jake Weissman reviewed my scans from the year before however and encouraged me to come in. Elle from the front desk was really responsive and patiently explained in great detail the precautions they were taking for Covid-19. They even accommodated me to come to the office 30 minutes before they opened at 6:30am (their office hours are at 7am) so that I didn't have to run into other patients! I ended up needing dental surgery and Dr. Weissman called me the day after surgery to check in. I had some minor throbbing on the adjacent tooth so emailed Dr. Weissman on a weekend to see if this was normal and instead of responding back via email, he immediately called me to allay my concerns. All in all, I've had to connect with the office and Dr. Weissman a couple of times after my surgery and each interaction has been flawless: swift responses, thorough and friendly. read more

Dr. Jake Weissman is A1! I was supposed to get a root canal last year but I put it off due to fear. One day I mustered enough strength to finally take care of my tooth that needed help. Dr. Jake Weissman at Rainier Endodontics is the BEST of the best in my opinion. From the moment I walked in the dental assistant Jamie was SO NICE and comforting. She put me at ease, which put me off to a great start. Dr. Weissman had same exact effect on me as well! He was very easy to relate to which helped me build a relaxing environment for me. He has a great calming effect, which honestly I almost fell asleep during the procedure at times. When a person who has had a root canal tells you that a dental procedure was THAT relaxing, that tells you a lot. He really cares about your experience and comfort level. It's been a few months, and my tooth is doing great, and pain free! I was so impressed by everything that I referred a close friend to him who had the same experience. In fact, anyone who mentions the word root canal, I instantly mention Dr. Weissman. People shouldn't put off dental care! This is why I don't mind steering them in the right direction :) read more

I had an appointment in two weeks, unfortunately my case became more urgent (and I had lots of questions & concerns); he saw me the next day. Positive plus shout out to front desk mgr 'Hannah' who listens, remembers, and schedules skillfully. Dr. W above all is a smart, thoughtful problem-solver. I had been diagnosed as needed extraction and two root canals by another dentist. As most of us, I have limited funds and wanted a second opinion. I was referred to Dr. Weissman for the root canals. First off, everyone I spoke to was kind and caring. I was a little frighted, but the staff was extra helpful by chatting with me, even at 7am. Dr. Weissman has impressive dental equipment, which added to the thoroughness of the exam. After a detailed exam, he told me I do not need the root canals. What a blessing this was for me. We have to trust the advice of the doctors who treat us and I trust in both his advice and his integrity. I came prepared to pay for extensive procedures. He could have sad yes, but he did not. Such a positive experience. As a side note, the exam chairs are like sitting on the comfiest couch ever. read more

Recently I broke a tooth and needed to get a crown. The Dentist I spoke to about the crown told me that I would first need a root canal, that Dr. Weissman was the best, and recommended that I get in touch with him immediately. My first phone call I spoke to Haleigh. She was very friendly, understanding, and professional and helped to schedule my appointment. Later on I spoke with Dr. Weissman on the phone. He came across to me as someone that is not only very competent, but also has genuine concern for his patients. Coming in to their office I was greeted very nicely, and after a few minutes went in to see Jamie who is Dr. Weissman's Dental assistant. She totally put me at ease, and even had me laughing a little bit. When it came to the procedure itself, Dr. Weissman checked in throughout the process to make sure that I wasn't in any pain. I'd never had a dentist do such a good job of not only numbing my tooth and jaw, but showing genuine concern to make sure that I was comfortable during the process. Both Jamie and Dr. Weissman did an amazing job at making me feel comfortable. The procedure went flawless. I could not more highly recommend a Endodontist to you than Dr. Weissman. If you need a root canal, go see him. read more

Can't say much about Dr. Weissman himself. Didn't make it that far. Pretty lackluster experience with the receptionist. Got there (from a referral) and was told my dental insurance wasn't accepted. Could have been communicated to me before I drove downtown and spent $10 on parking. Looks like an office that would be right at home in Bellevue. read more

The other reviews here say it all. (well except Sal, and personally I think his review is more of a reflection of Sal, instead of the reality of the quality care he undoubtedly received, Who complains about the music in a doctor's office...seriously). I had a root canal/crown 16 years ago (which my dentist and I have been watching). Bam, it went to heck in a handbasket really quickly the week my regular dentist was out of town.I had never had a toothache before and the pain was getting worse by the hour. My face was on fire! (well not really, but it felt like it. I was crying for my mommy and whiskey wasn't helping). Rainier Endodontics was able to schedule me within 48 hours and treat me the same day. The staff is kind and caring. I imagine Dr. Weissman surrounds himself with persons with the same level of compassion he also emits. My treatment was top notch and pain free. Of course the recovery from dental work isn't always without discomfort. Dr. Weissman created a pain tolerance plan with me and even called me the next day to see how I was doing. Let's be honest, root canals and root canal re-treatments suck. If you are in the position of needing either, you owe it to yourself to go to the best. I would have to say hands down Dr. Jake Weissman is going to go far with his practice. His bedside manner is impeccable! This doctor made sure I felt no pain and was comfortable through my whole visit. I had to have a root canal in a tooth that had a crown on it and he did a wonderful job. From the moment I walked through his front door I felt like I would not have to worry about anything and I was in good hands and I was! I would definitely say if you need a root canal or anything else that is his specialty give him a call, you won't regret it! His office is bright and cheery and exceptionally clean with state of the art equipment and his office staff is just as nice and knowledgeable as he is, in fact I hope I have to have another one just so I can go back! Literally as good as it gets! I mean, who wants a root canal? Dr. Weissman was patient and explained everything thoroughly to me. He put me at ease, numbed me up (I did not feel a thing here) and was very confident and obviously competent. His office is a relaxing space, the assistant Jamie was outstanding, and the front desk person (Hayley) took care of all the insurance information in a concise but warm matter. All his equipment is more than state of the art, and although he is young he is smart, warm and good with his hands. Not that I want to return, but if I need more work done I would go back here in a heartbeat. I even fell asleep during my treatment. Oh, and there is parking in the building garage. read more

I had a great experience with Dr. Weissman for my first and hopefully last root canal I will ever need. For my first consultation appointment the entire office was amazing, and Dr. Weissman was honest, letting me know that it wasn't an emergency but would be best to get it taken care of. I chose to wait a few weeks and then get the root canal done. It took two appointments, with each time a focus on making sure I felt zero pain and was comfortable. In fact, during my first appointment I was feeling a bit light headed about an hour in, so Dr. Weissman had no issue with taking a short break in my procedure for me to drink some water and sit up in the chair until I felt a bit better. I do hope I never need a root canal again, but I would highly suggest going to Dr. Weissman, as I would go back to him for any future work. Thank you to the entire office and Dr. Weissman! read more

It's difficult to overestimate my apprehension about getting my first root canal, but I'd like to put in on record that in a lifetime of dentists and orthodontists - who I've seen around the world, from Taipei to Singapore to Jakarta to Geneva, Switzerland - I haven't met a more equipped dental professional than I did at Dr. Weissman at Rainier Endodontics. To be sure, I visited them for a root canal. It was more fun than my regular dental office visits in the sense that a clean razor blade is more fun than a rusty one. It's another dental procedure, but it was sharp, crisp and pain-free. I was jarred by the staff's professionalism and, most notably, their tenderness. I left without questions or reservations (and incidentally, by accident, their dental glasses) and with my first desire to write my first Yelp review. I fell half-asleep during my procedure, but I overheard Dr. Weissman and his assistant Jamie talking with each other. Which is to say this: part of why a patient such as I could fall asleep in a relatiely traumatic physical procedure is the competence and camaraderie I heard between them. The office is snazzy, comforting and modern, but how important is that when your dentist engages -- as opposed to simply treating -- you in conversation and explanation and thoroughness? I will not say I am hoping for another root canal but I will say this: if Dr. Weissman every branched out from his mastered specialty and expanded into an office that offered everything from routine cleanings to caps to braces to oral surgery, I would gladly return. I have been to many (too many) dentists, oral surgeons and periodontists in my life. Simply said, Dr. Jake Weissman is absolutely the best of the best. In fact, it was a pleasure to have an exam with an endodontist, not something one would expect. Anyone needing root canal work would be fortunate to be in his office for the work needed. I was referred to him by my dentist because he trusted Dr. Weissman to figure out what my dentist couldn't determine - why the heck my tooth and gum was so irritated, swollen and aching. Dr. Weissman has state of the art diagnostic equipment and he and his staff were extremely gentle, kind, thorough, reassuring and communicative throughout the exam. Dr. Weissman answered every single one of my many, many questions and showed me exactly why my tooth and gum had been aching and swollen and what treatment I would need to take care of it. He was so kind and reassuring that I left the Rainier Endodontics office feeling confident that everything would be okay. How could it not be okay with such a kind and competent person helping me? A person can make it through any diagnosis with kindness and trust in the competence of the care provider. Thank you so much for your expertise, patience and empathy, Dr. Weissman and staff. I disagree with the other reviewers, who must be too young to have experienced many dentists. Well, I have had plenty of experience with dentists, and I wouldn't ever return to Dentist Doc Weissman for anything much less two root canals, which is what was wrong with me. This was by far the worst experience with a dentist (and his dental assistant). In fact, I've never previously had anything bad. I'm not afraid of dentists or of root canals either, having visited many. The whole procedure with Weissman took 10 days! And I was left in pain for all 10. If you know what a toothache can be like, then you will sympathize with me. No other dentist I've ever had would let you suffer the way this guy did me. And all the while I was in the chair (what? for 4 visits? 5?), there was playing over the Muzak this crappy music, pure Corporate-supported elevator crap, really loud, in my ears---every visit. And the two of them, Weissman and his assistant, had obviously swallowed the gov't. bull about pain meds, because they seemed to doubt that I was or could be in very much pain. Indeed, Weissman prescribed me 1 Vicodin every 6 hours. That's not even enough for a sparrow, not to speak of a man in his 50's like me. "Oh!" you're thinking, "Mr. Hepatica walked in with a bad attitude like a drug addict would, so the expert Dr. Weissman suspected something was up." Au contraire, folks, I'm quite sensitive to our culture's stupidities, and you might believe that I only asked that my pain end. No dice. The 1 Vicodin every 6 hours prescription continued for the entire 10 days. The final day, the pain while Dentist Doc Weissman was packing the tooth was so excruciating I thought of Guantanamo and other torture cells I'd read about. He was bragging about himself to his assistant, saying that he was a perfectionist--all the while I thought I would be driven into a "happy place" by this terrible pain that got worse and worse. The last day the procedure---with my mouth open for 2.5 hours!-- the pain was so bad I almost lost my mind. So you can take the other reviewers for being too young to know a good dentist from one out to make money and pay for a fine office. I'll never go to another dentist whose office is in an expensive skyscraper. The rent must be huge. read more

Dr. Weissman and his dental staff were exceptional in taking care of my root canal. My appointment was scheduled quickly and I was referred to Dr. Weissman, I was simply going on trust and recommendation as I had recently moved from the UK . Throughout my life, I've had extreme anxiety visiting Dentists. On this occasion I can 100% say that the team did an excellent job, made it painless as possible to make me comfortable and to get the job completed. They have the most up-to-date equipment and technology and they even follow up with you to find out how you are doing. I would highly recommend them. read more

Not only he's been able to effortlessly salvage what other endodontists had deemed highly unlikely, but he's been smooth throughout the process, from pre-op to post-op (when is the last time your Dr takes the time to call you personally to check on you? Dr. Robi and Dr Weissman do it every time; great leadership in patient care). The Office Manager, Belle, never ceases to go above and beyond and help you navigate your insurance benefits with accuracy, precision, and insightfulness. It looks like the only negative review comes from someone who realized too late that his insurance wasn't accepted. This reviewer seems to have forgotten that knowing one's insurance benefits is one's sole responsibility, not that of the provider and that if a healthcare provider is helping you navigate at all, it's a *favor*. Dr Weissman is technically skilled and practices high quality dentistry. He is also engaging, compassionate, thoughtful and takes the time to explain options and what he is doing - very patient-centered. Great (and all too rare) combination - Highly recommend.
