Purchased an aluminum trellis from Pacific Builders over 25 years ago. Trellis recently developed some leaking around the aluminum header attached to the house, leaving some rust stains. Contacted Pacific Builders, who came out, inspected and determined that the header was failing. A portion was still covered under warranty! Pacific Builders was able to remove and replace the header vs tearing down and completely replacing the trellis. I contacted several other companies for bids. No other company was willing or able to do a repair. They said the only way was to tear out and install a new trellis. This company is awesome. They really stand behind their products. Dave the owner ensures quality workmanship, integrity and professionalism are provided. Pacific Builders is a leader in trellis installation and maintenance. I highly recommend Pacific Builders. read more

We are so happy with this decision and glad we decided to stop by at CA home show. We needed to add an additional workspace for my wife and wow --so jealous I did not build a space for myself. We took a bid from a number of contractors that specialized in sunrooms and Dave and Jim and Kyle at Pacific Builders was amazing. The consultation and honesty was refreshing. It came out beautiful and third of the price of an addition. This build is an 8'x20'. We leave the French doors open to bring the cooler air into the space; even on 95+ days, the room is around 82 to 84 degrees based on the sensor we have but does not feel like it. it's comfortable to work in which honestly I was surprised the glass is as good as we were told. The build was so much better than what others had to offer and want to thank the team at Pacific Builders for amazing quality work. read more

The project has now been completed and the final inspection passed. one thing of note, the Project manager requested payment prior to the final inspection completion...I chose to wait until after the inspection passed before making the final payment, which I belive is a reasonable step for any homeowner. The remaining issues from my original review were eventually addressed and resolved, and the patio cover turned out nicely. The design with the single pole is exactly what we wanted. Overall, the finished product looks good and the project is complete. As I menitoend in my original review - I belive in shareing both the postive and negative as allot of money is being spent on these projects and this information will allow others to make informed decisions. read more

Dave , Everything you have said is a blatant lie! You know it and so do I ! This issue went on for years. I was ignored. Phone call never returned your poor secretary Kay was very kind but even she was at a loss. The siding was put up faulty. You did come back a year after the original job to fix under the front porch to match the new siding? But this other mess and your customer service is something to be desired. You were terrible to work with and then demand money ... I just want to warn others beware it's not the same company you used with Rick ! What could improve The owner! The secretary Kay excellent. I am so glad I found this company. Having so many flawed business relationships with some of our landscapers, I almost thought that was the norm until Pacific Builders. They exceeded our expectations while also setting a new standard for professionalism and customer service. Dave the owner and his crew were knowledgeable, punctual, and most importantly respectful. I want to start off by saying how wonderful Dave is. He is very personable and genuine. He was a great advocate for us and has really great ideas and suggestions. We have the same eye when it came to color scheme for the patio to match our backyard. We went with the beautiful Apollo patio and do not regret it one bit. We felt very lucky and honored to have Ralph work on our patio, he's a perfectionist and we couldn't have asked for anyone better. If anyone needs a patio and looking for top notch quality, I would definitely recommend Pacific Builders. Not only was our finish breath taking but they left our yard cleaner than what it was. I will be having high expectations when working with any other contractors because Pacific Builders set the bar high. read more

Pacific Builders It's been a year since Dave and his talented team at Pacific Builders transformed my backyard, and the construction is timeless--it truly gives a sense of home. Dave is the kind of owner who stands by his word and treats his customers like family. He stayed in constant communication, ensuring everything met my expectations. With a project of this size, that level of communication made all the difference. They built a pergola, a beautiful concrete patio, a fire pit with sitting walls, and enclosed my back patio into a sunroom, which has become my family office surrounded by a beautiful garden of trees, water features, and tropical plants. By any standards, this was a large and complicated home improvement project--and Dave and his crew walked me through every step, from design to permitting to the detailed finishing touches, making sure I felt comfortable and informed throughout the process. A year later, the results are still beyond anything I imagined. The pergola is sturdy and stunning, the concrete has maintained its beautiful color and design, and the sunroom has become my favorite garden retreat. The fire pit and sitting walls have turned the space into a natural gathering spot, where neighbors and friends have spent countless hours enjoying it. Pacific Builders brought great vision, meticulous craftsmanship, and dedication to my dream backyard. This transformation inspired me to start a new part-time career in gardening, completely changing my perspective on how a well-built garden sanctuary can enrich your life--creating a sanctuary, fostering community, and bringing a deeper sense of joy and fulfillment. read more

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING PRODUCT AND UNBELIEVABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I don't even know where to begin...and I could go on and on about this company and it's owner. I'm going to keep it short and sweet...I think!! The OWNER, David MCKEEHEN is one of thee most wonderful people I have ever met!! His kindness, professionalism and extensive attention to detail is mainly what sold me from day one. I'm usually a bit leary when I allow someone into my home to discuss a project, and I've had MANY this year! With David, I always felt I was opening the door for a brother or a friend. I sincerely believe we will have many dealings in the future as I'm extremely pleased with how my new patio turned out and I'm planning to add more structures in the next few years. Although I initially signed up for a particular pergola, I took my prerogative to change my mind and David was nonetheless understanding and accommodating! I was shown many options and I needed help in deciding. David was patient and explained everything in detail so I could make the best choice for my needs and desires. I'm excited to add pictures at a later date. My patio is UNIQUE AND GORGEOUS...I hate to do it an injustice by debuting it without my completed landscaping. That will be happening this summer and I will follow up with some gorgeous pictures at a later date. Just PLEASE REST ASSURED that if I was pleased (and I'm pretty picky) you will also most certainly be pleased. The integrity of this company, it's owner and all of it's employees stand second to none in my book. It's extremely obvious that this company strives to do it's utmost best to leave knowing their customers are happy!! A HUGE THANK YOU TO JIM ALSO...he paid great attention to detail and made sure everything was to spec before anything moved forward. I greatly appreciate that!! He gave me % confidence that the company and I were on the same page about all the details!! David and your family of employees, from office to field, THANK YOU for providing me with one of thee best experiences in this purchase for my home! I'm going to be the envy of EVERYONE thanks to you!!!!! MY HEART IS HAPPY!!!! A MILLION THANK YOUS FOR EVERYTHING!!! read more

We were looking to redo our backyard and were thinking about putting in a new covered deck so we reached out to a few companies. Pacific Builders was the only company to come out in person to evaluate our yard before giving us a quote. Dave came out to the house and brought his binder and portfolio to show us our options. Dave is one of the main reasons we decided to go with Pacific Builders, but more on Dave later. We decided to do a stamped-concrete patio, instead of a deck, and then add an patio cover with a few ceiling fans and a skylight. We started this in mid-summer so we knew we'd have to wait for a bit since Pacific Builders had to order the supplies and line up the contractors. Throughout this whole process, Dave, was always available if we had questions Orin wanted to tweak our design. Our permits held us up a little bit, but once everything was approved, they got to work. The concrete was poured and stamped first and they did a super job. Then a few weeks later the cover went up in 1 day and a half. We are so happy with our covered patio and how well it was done. We even had Dave come over once it was done to take a look at it. We would highly recommend Pacific Builders. One thing Dave told us is that they may not be the right company for us, depending on what we want. I appreciated his honesty and that he never gave us a hard sell or used hardball tactics to get us to go with them. We were given choices at every step of the way. I wouldn't hesitate to call them up again in the future if we want more work done in the yard. read more

Dave, the owner, is fantastic to work with! He is honest and thinks of things from our position to help make the best decisions. He really made us feel like family! He was always communicating during the process and gave us any updates if there were delays due to weather or COVID. I really appreciated being kept in the loop about our project, especially when you hear so many home renovation horror stories. He is very detailed oriented and makes sure that his entire team is professional and does cut corners. We trusted Dave with the overall design of all 4 of our structures for our back patio/car port. I'm so glad we did because he brought our vision to life! Now we can enjoy our backyard with so much more shade during the hot summer months and look forward to using it the rest of the year!! We also look forward to working on other home projects with Pacific Builders. read more

A very professional and knowledgeable company. Quality Patio covers and great customer service. Will definitely use them again and again.

Pacific Builders were great to work with. It was fantastic to have a project coordinator to organize all of the pieces to the project and we loved having the project be one piece divided into sections. They sent a group to do our concrete work, then once that portion of the project was complete they sent the guys over to build our stunning patio cover. They sent someone to install beautiful sunshades which is one of our favorite features! They had electricians come and they installed outlets where we wanted them and also put in our beautiful outdoor patio fan. Everyone they sent to do specific jobs were outstanding to work with. We were given a lot of choices and got to customize each part of the project to our liking. I'm a very creative person and this was by far my favorite piece to the puzzle. Our new patio is the farthest thing from boring/standard. It reflects my style and turned out to be one of the most usable gorgeous spaces our home has to offer! Happy to recommend Pacific Builders, and happy to be a part of their family! I feel as though I am a particular person and as hard as it is to admit I am fairly hard to please. These guys did not disappoint! read more

Pacific builders constructed a patio cover for a swim spa. It is a large structure. Dave came over and asked what we needed and gave us some ideas. The deposit was give to start the work. The start date was set the deep footings were put in and construction was started ,due to covid-19 there was a 2 week delay for the materials. Dave kept me informed about the materials and why it was delayed, when the materials were ready the was set and the crew completed the job in a few days. The electrician Jeff Cooper installed the electrical and did a great job. I hate doing construction projects at me house because of the horror stories I hear and read about. Pacific Builders was referred to us by my wife's Grandmother, who had work done on her house back when the original owners were Mary and Fred Degen. The new owner, Dave, came out to property and gave a free consultation on a patio we wanted to build. Dave was awesome, he was straightforward and very helpful in designing the patio. He even invited us out their workshop/office on the weekend when they were closed, to accommodate my wife and I work/life schedule. At the workshop, we were able to look and touch the patio materials and even stood on the roof of on one of the patio that was in their workshop. During the construction, Dave was always communicating with us, giving us updates and seeing if we needed anything else from him. When we had an issue with the look our tile roof blending in with patio, Dave instantly communicated with us and sent his roof specialist to take care of the issue. My wife and I are very pleased that we chose Pacific Builders to build our backyard patio. The patio definitely added another room to our house for hosting family and friends. We would certainly use Pacific Builders again on future builds and we highly recommend them to all our family and friends. read more

All of my comments are based on what I saw during this one project. I seriously hope that what I saw is not typical of the workmanship of Pacific Builders. Truly, I pray it is not. Things that seem to need improvement 1. They do not seem to have any kind of quality assurance program in place 2. They have no checklist to verify everything is finished and finished correctly. 3. Many of their subcontractors are paid by the job, so they have a tendency to rush and just get in and get out as fast as possible. This system does not seem to be conducive to getting quality work. And based on the workmanship that I saw, their main concern did not appear to be quality, but rather expediency. If I were to do it again, these are the things I think I should have had them spell out in the contract. This applies not only to Pacific Builders but any home construction project. 1. Have them identify how they are going to run power to your sunroom or patio prior to construction. 2. Have the contract clearly state the tolerances for the construction, and have some ways to enforce it if the tolerances are not met. 3. Have in the contract what should happen if they do not place electrical outlets (or something else) as shown on the plans. 2 Stars Cody - Lead Installer and although I very disappointed with his work, he is a very nice guy. Some of the many reasons that I give him only 2 stars · Initial bottom rail was 1.75 inches off. In other words instead of being 16 feet it was 15 feet, 10 and a quarter inches. If fact Jim had him pull up the bottom rail and do it again. It makes me wonder however, why I had to point it out. How come neither Cody, nor Jim noticed it was off? · When replacing the rail, Cody did not seem to know about checking if the room was square by measuring it from corner to corner. (see https://www.wikihow.com/Square-a-Roomif you want to learn for yourself) · His window installation is the worst that I have ever seen, yet he seemed unaware that there was even a problem. Basically almost every window sagged in the middle. · Installed a glass sliding door on a sloped patio without any support under the door. This caused the whole door to sag at the bottom. Jim - The foreman and Cody's boss Some of the many reasons that I give him only 2 stars · Never seemed to verify Cody's work. Rather just accepted it as done. · He rarely responded to texts when problems were texted to him. However he appeared to be well versed in how to text about items he thought was important. · When replacing the bottom rails, Jim told me "you can have the floor square or you can have it 16 feet" when I told him that I wanted both Jim told me "I don't have all day". · When I showed him how bad the glass sliding door was, he said the door must be defective. · Both he and Cody replaced the Glass Sliding door with a new one. And they did a good job by adding support under the door this time. I wish they had put that much effort into the first attempt. · As a standard practice, he uses loose washers as shims under the windows to try to level them. · He never did get my windows straight. I actually had to straighten out the windows myself, in order to get them even reasonably straight. When my workmanship is better than the supposedly experienced contractors working on the project, then I have to assume that the contractors lack experience, expertise or both. 3.5 Stars Jeff - Electrician. Once again a very nice guy, as were his workers. Reason that I gave him only 3.5 stars · Not very responsive to phone messages. Left a message for him on Monday. Never returned my call, but did answer when I called him back on Thursday. · Jeff's workers moved circuits in my breaker box without either relabeling them or even telling me that the circuits were moved. It is unnerving when I turn off the circuit breaker to the sunroom and the sunroom power stays on, but my living room lights go off. 4 Stars Dave Owner and Salesman · Like many salesmen, he will put a positive spin on just about any concern that you have. · He has a tendency to deny problems exist, and does not always appear to have the desire or the manpower to address the issues that I brought up. 5 Stars Each of the following people on this job exceeded my expectations. Another Interesting fact, most of them work as hourly employees. · Alan did the sheet rock in the interior of the sunroom and some exterior finish work · Dominic installed the gable windows and fixed some other issues · Ken, the carpenter, did the gable (cricket) on the roof, for the sunroom tie in to the existing roof · Paul installed the French doors · Monte, who detailed our sunroom and worked to get the final approval of the permit In the end, after almost a year, a lot of stress, lost sleep and frustration my sunroom is done. Did it meet my expectations? No it didn't, but the sunroom is okay. It's not the worst sunroom, but a little below my expectations. But they had the opportunity to do so much better. I wish they had. read more

Met someone at a home show at McClellan and scheduled to meet with someone on 8/23/18 at 5:30pm Got a call from Lindsay on Tuesday 8/21/18 at 10:06am to confirm my appointment, but because I work in the basement, I get no phone coverage. Called back and left them a voicemail message on Tuesday night at 7:26pm (the same day) of course I did not expect them to be there to answer the call, but did leave them a message with my name and phone number saying the appointment was not a problem and explained again (I explained it to the person at the home show too) that I do not get calls while I am at work because I work in the basement. No signal! Well, Thursday 8/23/18 came and the appointment time was at 5:30pm, no one showed up, no one called. I called them at 5:44pm to see when they will arrive. Of course, the office was closed, so again, I left a message with my name and phone number where I could be reached to check on where Constantine was and no call backs. Even today Friday 8/24/18 (now 10:10am), still no calls from this company. It appears they either do not check their voicemail message and/or do not give anyone messages. Like so many others I am giving this company one star due to no follow-up and wasting my time. I worked around their schedule and made sure I was home to have a salesman come and provide a quote. He spent two hours taking measurements and explaining what they could or would do. Even after several requests to have a quote provided they have gone silent. If they ever do follow-up with me, then I will update this review based on how they choose to remedy the situation. Don't call these people because they will come out, waste your time, and never get back to you with a bid. Update: got an email stating that they are declining the job. I find it hard to give a 5 star review for any company because it may come off as disingenuous. With that being said Pacific builders needs 10 STARS. These guys went above and beyond for my family and I. The whole process was a big decision for my wife and I. From the beginning we met with Dave who was completely understanding with what are expectations were and what are budget would allow. After lengthy thorough conversations with Dave about design and where he and his company hold their values to providing the best product the market has to offer. There was no pressure from them just courteous check ins. When we decided to move forward they delivered on the time line we discussed and no hold ups or excuses ever delayed any aspect of the job. The crew that came out to do the install (BIG THANKS TO MIKE AND THE CREW) was a top notch very professional group of trade skilled man, that built our beautiful awning as if it were their own. They take a lot of pride in the projects they build and it shows beautifully.
