It was my first time here; not just this location, but the franchise. I absolutely enjoyed every minute of my experience. The waiter was outstanding in the customer service department. He went above and beyond, answered all of our questions, gave recommendations for dessert, and checked on us without being too attentive. We had the prefixed menu and I went for something out of my norm (Pad Thai) and was pleasantly surprised. My cocktail was so delicious and made right; not weak at all. Tonight, we celebrated my father-in-law's 80th birthday. I made the reservation for a party of 10 several days ago, using Open Table. Within 5 minutes of our arrival, they had our table ready. We had an unexpected visitor join us, so I had to ask to add one more guest. That was no problem. Will, the server, was beyond exceptional. I was amazed that he even knew each person's order without referring to his notes. We never once had to ask for refills, and he was constantly checking to make sure we had everything we needed, all while attending to several other tables. Been to many changs and I traditionally like the menu when im in a mindless, non adventorous mood for chinese. However the last time I went to this location, wonton soup was gross, calamari, short ribs, crispy wontons- all not so good and felt Horrible the next day (only 1 cocktail so couldnt have been that) Seemed like a raging headache all day for no reson. Two friends of mine also had a similar experience from there. Strange. Not really food poisioning sick, but headache down and out queasy. And let it be said i dont react to MSG, so maybe some other preservative? I dont eat at chains often because of preservative issues and never had a problem at changs before.... So with not so great food and a headache, might have to take this location off my list of standby stop-in restaurants. read more

Like many reviews listed here, we waited over 30 minutes in a half empty restaurant for our food. I had to get up and track down a manager to find out where our food was. Obviously it was lost or forgotten. The manger came over with a bogus excuse about waiting to put the order in after our apps were out. Our apps took over 20 minutes. No refills for drinks, no acknowledgement of the delay until we said something. The waiter's comment of "are you guys still alive" after the manager told him we were waiting 30 minutes did not go over well with us. Once served, food was very good. This chain has really gone down hill over the years. Recently, I ordered a number of appetizers and entres for a birthday diner. the portions were very small for the price. the steamed dumplings were good. Everything else was mediocre at best. Last month I went there with friends for happy hour. The bar service was disapointing. The sake was overpriced and the pours were shot glass size! read more

First time at Changs, had a gift certificate. Went with wife. We started with Dynamite shrimp which was excellent. On par with Bonefish Bang-Bang Shrimp. Ordered Wok Fired Filet Mignon, question if it was filet because some of the pieces were tough, others had some fat. Seasoned nicely though. Also had Crispy Honey Chicken which was excellent. Ordered fried rice, so-so. White rice was fine. Waitress was pleasant but had 7 tables, two of which were large. She was having issues keeping up. Manager was on floor helping all the wait staff which was good to see. Wife really liked it and I was surprised because she typically does not like Asian cuisine. I love pf changs and there food but this service was a little different this time. We ordered our drinks and appetizers at the same time. While still waiting for our drinks the appetizers came out about 5 minutes before. We also did not get the sauce we wanted until 10 minutes after we got our appetizers. Needless to say the service wasn't that great in the beginning. However the experience started to change and the food was great and the service was much better. I've visited this locations twice: dine in and takeout. The waitress made dining in a terrible experience. She slammed our plates and cups, in addition she did not bring eating utensils (another waiter did without even asking). She never asked if we needed anything nor placed a to-go ordered which prompted me to ask for the check immediately. The food was decent; ordered miso soup and Pad Thai. Ordered take out here only because my boyfriend insisted on it even though I told him the place had horrible reviews. Regardless we headed to curbside to pick it up, we were excited to get our food since I had just quit my job and we wanted to celebrate. I briefly checked the bag and saw two containers in there thinking I was good to go. I paid and tipped for the order. As soon as I got home I realized they forgot both sides of rice for the meals. When I called the store they simply told me they'd mail me a card for a free app. I don't know if it's just me but when you pay $40 for take out, you expect it to be right and having a free app card mailed to you doesn't seem to fix that problem. You're asking a customer to come back and spend more money at this location because they get a free app card that is handed out regularly. Not impressed. read more

This place is a disaster! Went to PF Changs to pick up a take out order and waited 30 plus minutes after arrival and still never received my order. This order was places 20 minutes before my arrival. Spoke multiple time with manager and kept hearing its caused by covid then by them being short staffed. Funny everyone else was getting their order in a timely matter except me! Do yourself a favor and find a different restaurant to patronize because this place is an absolute joke. read more

Bad experience tonight in what is usually a reliable haunt. Hostess did not seat us as she said no tables. They had maybe 10% of capacity seated with about 6 servers available what seemed a full kitchen staff on a slow Monday night and four empty booths and maybe 15 empty tables. Hostess made no attempt to prepare tables, find someone to seat us or set tables, in fact she left the stand. A good 10-15 minutes later as two other couples waited as well - she finally cleared a table which we set. Another staff member brought us menus after another 5 minutes or so. She seemed annoyed, argued that we hadn't been waiting long, said she was Manager but seemed apathetic and perturbed that we were unhappy. We decided this wasn't where we wanted to spend our money or our evening. We went next door to Brio and were seated immediately. read more

Usually pfchangs is so consistent and amazing! But we went on a monday night it was super empty! The location is great! We ordered Mongolian beef and kung pow chicken and low mein and sushi. Ordered a customized sesame chicken with no sesame seeds (I can't have them) and when I got home to open my dish up, chicken covered in sesame seeds. I could eat a portion of the other food ordered. The menu has been drastically cut since our last visit in late November. A majority of the old favorites are gone. Gone too is the Fixed Price menu for Two. Of courses prices have increased while portion sizes have gotten smaller. Not sure if they have a new chef but even the recipes and ingredients for such mainstays as Wonton Soup have changed ( eg. too many water chestnuts added). We would probably return for Happy Hour nibbles, knowing what we know now; that is if this place survives in its new model. Very disappointed. read more

This P.F. Chang's is deffinitly not the best. We are here on Sunday at 12:30 and the place has only 9 tables filled out of about 50 tables. It's not just this one time ethier, it's every time you come here. The staff is rude too. We told the hostess we have 7; to wich she made a comment and was obviously shocked. I don't know why she would be though becuase like I previously said, this place is basically empty. This isn't the first time a hostess has been rude to us ethier; last week the hostess rolled her eyes at us then threw the menu's in a clump on the table. The servers are usually okay though, just mainly the hostess'. We're seriously considering though switching to a different location from now on. read more

I am very sad to write this review. I used to be a regular at the restaurant until a bad experience a few months ago. My husband and I entered the restaurant, which was virtually empty, and the hostess did not greet us. It took a few minutes to seat us, keep in mind this is in a deserted restaurant, and when we were finally seated it took a while for the waiter to get our drink orders. Finally the two waters came, and the waiter handed us a menu. I opened the menu and a bug fell out. I did not know what kind of bug, I left before I could identify anything, but I did notify the staff that there was a bug in my menu. Lately the food has been so-so, I ate the Changs Spicy chicken and it tasted like rubber. Not going back. read more

Normally, I wouldn't really bother to rate a chain restaurant because for the most part, they're pretty standard. However, this location is AWFUL. I placed an online order for pick up during my lunch break at 2 pm, and was told it would be ready by 230. I get there at 230 and am directed to the bar, where there is no one to be found. No worries, the place seems pretty slow, maybe the bartender is grabbing something for the bar. I wait patiently until he returns...only to find out that my order isn't quite ready. Continue to wait patiently some more, until the hostess felt bad and told him I was waiting and he dissapeared only to return with some other stuff. Someone else finally brought me my order, 20 minutes late. The part that annoys me is that they had THIRTY minutes to get the order together before I even got there and it still took an additional 20 minutes once I got there. Could service be any more indifferent and arrogant?? I don't see how... I went in almost a half hour after opening for carry out and was the only customer at the bar with 3 servers behind. No one said hello or welcome and I finally asked if I was in the right place for carry out. The girl smiled and said yes: I thought this might be a good start, but then...nothing...I finally asked for a menu and the young man handed me one without a word. After deciding on my order, I put the menu down and waited...and waited...the girl had left and the guys were having a conversation. I waited what seemed like forever but was probably more like about 5 minutes. Finally I just got up and left. As I was leaving, the 2 hostesses were chatting and I said "I'll be back another time when you are not so busy." They giggled and said "ok" Either they did not get my sarcasm (how could they not---there was only one table of customers in the whole huge place) or they just thought the whole thing was funny--don't know don't care. When you turn your business over to twentysomethings who regard customers as an annoyance rather than as critical, this is what you have--a business that no longer has lines out the door, no longer gets the Best of Annapolis Chinese Restaurant Award, and turns away locals like myself who used to eat here several times a month. What do they care if your restaurant goes under? They'll just find a job at another place to destroy..and on it goes...sad... read more

So as a whole, PF Chang's is great if you like decent Chinese food that's way more expensive and far less plentiful that your typical mom and pop Chinese joint. Generally I'm happy with my experiences here, but carry out seems to be something they just can't help but botch. A few weeks ago, my wife ordered Mongolian beef, which when she got home turned out to be just beef with no green onion. If you're familiar with this dish, you know it consists of 3 things: beef, green onions, and sauce. As such, the lack of green onion is significant. Tonight, we again got carry out, which included dynamite shrimp among other things. What it turns out we got was fried shrimp with no sauce on it. To add to the annoyance factor, there was actually a small amount of dynamite sauce on the bed of lettuce, which ever so gently cradled our dynamiteless shrimp. It was like the cook made a conscious decision to not put the sauce on, but also wanted us to know he didn't just forget. It was basically like the line cooks way of flipping me the bird without actually seeing me. The rest of the food was as expected, but the second consecutive botched dish for carry out will certainly make me seriously consider going back. I shouldn't have to police my order like I went through the drive through at mcdonalds when I drop $60 for a couple entrees and apps. Lemme say, right off the bat, that I don't agree with blindly bashing a restaurant, just because it is a chain, especially if you can't bother to use anything else as your basis for tanking a review. Moving on..... I have a love/hate relationship going with the Annapolis PF Changs. It's not because they are a chain, I don't really have a problem with that and to be honest, their food is pretty good for a chain. So let's talk about the food for a minute. On our 2 trips here, my wife and I have ordered the prix fixe menu for 2, on both occasions. Overall, a well-constructed meal and I rather enjoyed the simple, straightforward format and the price is great. The soup course is mindbogglingly absent of won ton soup, far and away the most popular 'Chinese' soup for Americans. I appreciated the fact that both the hot & sour and egg drop soups are quite tasty but, I think the omission of won ton soup is odd, likely it is used as a trapdoor, ejecting people back onto the more expensive regular menu (you'd be foolish to think a chain of that size hasn't put that level of thought into it). The appetizer has been a letdown on both occasions. On our first trip, I ordered the Shrimp Dumplings, which were well-presented but, ultimately bland and forgettable. Our second trip, we listened to all of the banter of folks that eat there and ordered the Chang's chicken lettuce wraps. What a monumental letdown this turned out to be. This dish was utterly disappointing from start to finish. The chicken mixture was extremely bland and whatever those little white noodle-esque things are intertwined with the chicken were tooth-shattering hard. Yes, I added a generous topping of the kitsch sauces that were brought out when we seated, hyper-annoying, corporate office mandated demo and all but, this was still unsatisfying. The dish should be able to stand on it's own, with the sauces providing garnish and accent. Sadly, this s just not the case. Time to find a new appetizer choice..... On to the entrees. So far, we have tried the Mongolian Beef, Orange Peel Beef, and Dali Chicken. The 2 beef dishes have been excellent and we will happily return to eat them many times over the years, I'm sure. The big, BIG miss for me, was the Dali Chicken. What an abomination this dish turned out to be. I should have trusted my radar when I ordered it and our server (clearly stoned but, who cares) immediately spouted, in a clearly trained corporate demeanor "Our Spiciest Dish" and the runner uttered this same Pavlovian response as he set my plate down on the table. OK, so leeks, potatoes, chicken and spice; basic enough and I happen to like all of these ingredients so this should have been an easy one..... Wrong! Make no mistake, this dish is VERY spicy, as in sweat on your temples while you eat it. You know, the good stuff. Unfortunately, it has attained this hellfire at the complete and total sacrifice of actual flavor. The profile was woefully one-dimensional and did not accent ANY of it's core ingredients in a flattering manner. I will not order this dish EVER again, there are too many other tasty entrees to choose from. The desserts with the prix fixe come served in shot glasses so, servings are a bit small but, the items are very rich so it works out alright. On our first trip, we had the lemon pie and carrot cake, both excellent. The lemon pie is tart, refreshing, and made for a great palette cleanser at the end of the meal, I definitely recommend. My wife ordered the Carrot cake (her favorite) and it was just great. Moist, dense cake and tasty icing, really an excellent dessert and I'd like to try a full-size slice. Our first trip was during a weekday for lunch and was a wholly enjoyable experience from start to finish. The second trip was on a busy Saturday night and was slightly less so but, not altogether bad. We had made reservations so we did not have to wait however, we were seated right on the main drag behind the hostess stand where the servers and runners are tearing ass back and forth. Much more troubling though was the layout of the tables in general. The right side of the floor(standing at the front doors, looking in) was absolutely packed with tables in a ramshackle fashion that quite honestly boggled me in a chain restaurant while, the tables on the left were placed with MUCH more space between them and appeared to have maybe two/thirds the number of tables in a space roughly the same size. The spacing and being seated on the main drag made for a less than pleasant atmosphere with servers, runners, and fellow patrons bumping our chairs and table throughout the meal. Despite the low points, there are enough highlights that we will go back when my mother or sister-in-law unfailingly gets us another gift card for Christmas (this has been how we ended up there previously) and if we were in the Town Centre during lunch time, we could possibly end up there on our own dime. read more

It is beyond me as to how this establishment remains so popular. I find it extremely corporate and pedestrian. Our visit last night was in honor of my mother-in-law's birthday. The quality of our experience immediately went south. We waited well past our reservation time to be seated, and then we waited far too long for our drink orders to be taken-this was on a Wednesday evening mind you. When our waitress finally arrived with our drinks, my daughter's lemonade was missing, as was my beer. I was informed that "oops we haven't had Fordham on tap for several weeks, but it's still on the menu so that we can get guys like you to order the more expensive "imports"." (I'm taking liberties here, but that was my impression). We waited several more minutes until we were again graced with her presence and my daughter's drink, and my second choice beer. While I'm on the subject of my daughter, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that when we booked our reservation, we requested a high chair. We were seated without any mention of a high chair or booster seat (my daughter is three years old and 38" tall), and when we again requested the high chair, we were told that the placement of a high chair near our table would create a fire hazard, so NO, we couldn't have one. I had to count to ten and engage in rythmic deep breathing to avoid the atavistic reation that the nether regions of my brain were screaming for me to perform. And then there's the food...........Very nearly devoid of any redeeming qualities: The salt and pepper calamari is 90% batter and 10% squid parts. The spring rolls are a combination of indescript vegetable matter and microscopic bits of mystery meat, and lack any distinctive flavor. The child's Lo Mein appeared to have spent an extended vacation in the Gulf of Mexico very near BP's blown out oil well-it was super oleagenous. And the chicken dishes are all the same; cubed chicken served naked on a plate with whatever sauce is consistent with your order, and a small dish of either brown or white rice. I had Chang's Spicy Chicken and it tasted very, very similar to my Mother-in-law's crunchy honey chicken-and it looked identical, with the exception of the addition of a spoonful of deep fried rice noodles. My wife did enjoy the moo shu chicken, and my father-in-law found the pepper steak to be moderately tasty. In general, I found Chang's to be a waste of money. read more

This is one of my go-to spots for gluten-free food paired with a great glass of wine. Although I generally prefer small, privately owned eateries as opposed to corporate chains, I greatly appreciate the diverse gluten-free menu which includes the infamous lettuce wraps (complete with gluten-free soy sauce). The G-free menu also includes a decadent-sounding dessert, which I have yet to try. One of the reasons I prefer to frequent this spot is the wonderful customer service. Daniel, the bartender is always engaging, funny and attentive. The managers are equally as friendly and go above and beyond. Good atmosphere, appropriate background music (something many eateries often overlook)l and a nice G-Free selection. read more

Went with some friends on a double date here on a Friday night. Based on what others have said we get a reservation for 8. We arrived a little early but were seated right away. They were only about half full on a Friday night...never a good sign. We ordered pan fried dumplings, crab wontons, and lettuce wraps. They are all pretty good with the dumpling and lettuce wraps being way better than the wontons. I had the Changs chicken which was pretty good but really didn't have a lot of flavor for the price you are paying for. I do not enjoy writing reviews where I had a mediocre experience. My girlfriend and I had never been to P.F. Chang's before, so we decided to give it a shot. In general, the parking is adequate with a nearby parking garage. We were seated quickly on a Friday night during dinner time, but oddly enough there were not many people in the restaurant. The waitress came to our table quickly, we ordered drinks and apps. The apps were delicious (Mongolian pot stickers and lettuce wraps), but it took over 15 minutes for two drinks. By the time she brought us the drinks, we have finished the apps and were ready to order entrees. We clearly ordered two entrees and after about 20 minutes we got one of them and waited for the second one so that we could eat family style. We waited almost 30 minutes until I realized that I had to say something. The waitress seemed confused when I ask where our second entree was and apologized. The issue really is not that she forgot the entree, but how I was the one who had to ask the waitress after a long time even though she passed us a dozen times in that period and 1. Did not check in 2. Did not realize that we didn't touch our first entree because we were waiting for the second. We didn't even get asked for another drink during our entire experience and then we were not even offered dessert and given the check without asking (that's a first)... I think the reason I had never went to P.F. Chang's was because I was always skeptical...I have told this story to many friends, but they reassured me that it's just the location. read more

i loved ph chang's so much, I went to work there. well, here. this restaurant is in the new town center in annapolis. first of all-Parking is available in the parking garage. enter the town center via old forest drive between riva rd and route 2. there will be two garages- one on the left for target and one to your right. you want the garage to the right. pull all the way around to the exit and park there because that will get you about 1/2 block from the restaurant. do not try to park behind the restaurant, security has been instructed by the property owners not to allow anyone to park there. you can also come in the side road (name?) off of route two, make a left by the bank and park in that parking garage. it's about the same amount of walking. it's best to make reservations. a few things to know about service here... everything is served "family style" everyone gets a plate and food items are placed in the center of the table to be shared so that everyone can a plethora of taste, smell and textures. the dishes are also served fresh from the wok... so you will get what ever is ready first, delivered first... this means you may get one appetizer while others are still being cooked. if this is your first time, try the chang's spicy lettuce wraps. it's a combination of ground chicken, shitake mushrooms, water chestnuts, green onions and a dark sauce served over rice sticks with lettuce cups on the side. fill the cups and eat it like a taco. fast, light and fresh. the salt and pepper calamari is delish also. calamari is sliced in strips (no tentacles) lightly breaded in potato starch and fried. served with salt and pepper sprinkled on top and green onion slivers. this appetizer is great with the chili bean sauce (comes with it) or the special sauce your server will make for you at the table. the honey chicken and the honey shrimp are my favorites. very sweet and mild. other mild favorites are the Mongolian beef, lemongrass prawns and garlic noodles and shrimp with lobster sauce. medium spiced dishes- chang's spicy chicken ( a great combo of sweet, tart and spicy) sichuan from the sea with calarmari, scallops or shrimp ( spicy with a hint of sweet). spicy- dali chicken, beef ala sichuan, the changdu lamb or dan dan noodles. pf chang's also serves traditional favorites (beef with broccoli, friend rice, lo mein) but why get the usual when you can try something different? the asian marinated strip steak is different but really, really good- it's cooked medium rare and served sliced topped with a sesame soy sauce, served with asparagus and stir fried mushrooms on the side. somethings to note- reservations are recommended. beware the pepper pods. they are spicy. DO NOT eat them... unless your very very brave. the iced tea is a light passion fruit flavor. won ton soup and chang's chicken soup are served by the bowl only and the bowl is big. it will feed at least 3 people or more. it is made to order so it can be modified if you want something left out. no msg in the food. dumplings. wontons and spring rolls are made fresh in house daily. they have an extensive "by the glass" ( as well as bottles) wine list. they also serve something called a wine flight- where you can get 3 samples (2.5 ounces per glass) of wine (your choice) for $10. great deal. you can get a sake flight also but it's 3 samples 91 ounce) each (but i think the price differs). they have provided their servers with a special allergy button in the computer. tell them your allergy and they will print you a list of "safe" foods for you to order. their "rail" liquors are premium spirits (jw red, jim beam, sausa gold, smirnoff, beef eater and bacardi) the asian pear mojito is delicious as is the lucky cat. the $2 dessert minis are a great size and a great price to end any meal. take my word for it.... banana spring rolls!! if you so wish, you can hand over your menus and just tell your server what you like (ie. spicy/ mild, sweet/ tangy, salty/ textured/ garlicly... etc.) and let them pick some dishes for you. they do have some vegetarian dishes also (and a vegetarian version of the lettuce wraps).
