We arrived on Saturday early afternoon during the DIM SUM service. North Bethesda/Rockville location. It was very crowded and we were seated quickly. The noise level is crushing which made conversation quite difficult. (reason for the 4 stars instead of 5) The management could think about some infrastructure changes to muffle the noise so that patrons can actually talk to each other and enjoy the dining experience more. The food was excellent, we loved everything and the service was very attentive. I have to say, my Chinese friend who was with us was disappointed that the meat they were serving us was cold. The food kept coming. and we had plenty of leftovers as well. If we had been able to hear the wait staff better, we would have asked for more vegetarian items. I think we will just get carry out from now on as the dining experience with the noise level was not that pleasant. read more

The best Chinese restaurant in the Annapolis area. The double delicacy is absolutely stunning. Best garlic sauce. I've had anywhere in the area. The fried shrimp appetizers for four dollars you get four huge butterfly shrimp lo mein is one of my favorites. I've had anywhere and you can get them to make it however you want without vegetables if you like.. food is always ready in 20 minutes. I will be coming here again for Christmas this year. read more

I ordered the chicken and broccoli with white rice and an egg drop soup. The broccoli was rotten and could not even eat that. The rice seemed like it was from the day before. Had a dry crustiness to it which told me it was not fresh. The egg drop was edible but was not my favorite either. This place needs to use fresher ingredients. Updating my review to five stars. Decided to give it another try. Thankfully the dining room was open. It wasn't packed inside, in fact we were the only ones there. Don't let that fool you though The restaurant was jamming busy pumping out takeout orders nonstop. The food came out hot and fresh. Mongolian beef was excellent. It had canned mushrooms and bamboo shoots. Surprising the canned mushrooms worked. Shrimp egg foo yung wasn't bad. General Tso's was good. Mongolian beef was great. Customer service was outstanding! Bottom Line: A small dated restaurant in the Bay Dale Shopping Center but perfectly suitable for take-out. We have two Chinese restaurants near our house but we tend to visit China Garden the most because they have Moo Shu Pork and Beef on the menu. I certainly am not a connoisseur of Chinese food and I don't eat it that often but China Garden always hits the spot. Plus, they are always friendly and our meals tend to be ready for pick up in about 15 minutes. The menu at China Garden is quite lengthy! While the Moo Shu is my go-to I also enjoy the low mein, beef with broccoli and wonton soups. Overall, China Garden is a good option when we're craving Chinese takeout and we need something quick. read more

Fresh, well cooked ingredients, the most tender and good portions of beef in the beef stir fry dishes, sauces aren't greasy and very flavorful! Veg is always tender but crispy and never soggy or over cooked! General Tso chicken is large chunks of white chicken, never dry with just the right amount of batter; never huge balls of chicken-less batter. Also ordered moo goo gai pan, a chicken with vegetable, and broccoli beef - everything was well-liked by our entire party. Only for pick-up or dine in, no delivery. Their menu is exactly what you would expect. But the food surprised me by how good it was. First, it was HOT when we got it, which seems to be a rarity. Their lo-mein was delicious, and the noodles were overdone and remained the perfect temperature. We had an order of beef and broccoli which was very good, albeit, it had very little beef and a whole lot of broccoli in it. We also ordered their hot and sour soup-- it had excellent flavor, and whole mushrooms in it, which I haven't seen before. For the price, this will be a place we return to time and again. read more

I'll be honest, this review is going to be quite simple. The food is ok, but not great and the prices are ok. There are better Chinese food places around. The Joy Luck in Cape St. Claire and Golden Dragon in Annapolis are much better, and if you have to drive and get it, you might as well drive an extra 10 mins and get a good meal. I know that sounds harsh, but why eat mediocre Chinese food if you're going out to get it anyway? Dining in the restaurant is not an option. The place is run down and has an odd odor to it. The place needs a complete cosmetic makeover (carpets, walls, etc.). A restaurant shouldn't smell like that. The workers there are extremely nice, but more effort needs to be put into the place. Some free advice to the owners: 1. DELIVERY! You're one of 2 Chinese restaurants on near College Pkwy. You'd increase your business 35% if you offered delivery. 2. Get new recipes and/or a new cook. Put some love into the food (maybe even use fresher ingredients), and the customers will stay with you forever. I live around the corner and I barely come in because there are better choices for food in the area. 3. Clean the place up. It would be nice to take my wife out for a dinner there, but the smell in your place, literally makes me nauseous. You don't have tough competition in the area. The places that are better than you, aren't great either, so make those 3 improvements, and your business will skyrocket. read more

I really hate to give a negative review, but in this case I don't see any alternative. I've only had the food here a few times, and while it was OK, it wasn't great. But I've only eaten in the restaurant once.....I don't know what's going on, but now when you walk in the door, you're assaulted with an odor reminiscent of a backed up sewer. The first time I noticed it, my son and I walked right back out the door. We decided to give it another try about 6 months later, but as soon as we stepped inside, we turned around and walked right back out again. I honestly can't imagine anyone sitting there and actually eating with that odor. With that said, I would have to agree with other comments that they really need to consider offering delivery and update their menu. But they REALLY need to fix whatever is causing that smell. I won't be returning. I went in earlier this week and the staff was really rude. I explained that I wanted my food spicy- that I liked their food but it was never spicy like I requested. The person I was with added that we really like Thai food to give an example of how spicy we like our food. Both the female and male server (they seem to alternate which is annoying, I had to explain waiting spicy twice) got defense and said "This isn't a Thai restaurant". I've been to this restaurant multiple times. Staff is very friendly and courteous to customers. That's always nice. They really try to take care of their customers. Food is average Chinese. Nothing to brag about yet nothing to sneeze at either. Standard American Chinese. I usually go here because of the location ( I can avoid Ritchie hwy) and the food is consistent.
